Over-Slept

This week has gone by just fine. I made an unhealthy amount of eye contact with Blake every class I had with him.

I said nothing to him and he said nothing to me.

It was already Thursday and I just finished up all of my classes. I decided it was time to go job hunting.

Did I need a job? No. Did I want a job? Yes. My sanity would not allow me to spare another minute with no work to do in my apartment.

I took a drive into a local plaza and went door to door all around until one finally said they were hiring.

It was a small café called Brewster's. It was cute and small. Old ladies ran the counters and they had told me to come back tomorrow for an interview at 12. I was sold.

I didn't care the pay, I just need something else to do.

Walking back to my car, I had turned a corner and bumped into someone. Looking up it was a cute guy my age.

"Oh, sorry!" I said, embarrassed I wasn't watching where I was going.

The guy had blonde long hair and was a bit lean, the complete opposite of Blake.

"No worries, are you ok?" He asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, all good." I smiled and started to continue on my way.

"Uh, hey! Do you want to go get some coffee?" He asked and I turned around.

"Uh, yeah no. I have to be somewhere." I said and kept walking.

That's basically how it's been since Blake. I mean before I never even got any guys attention but after him, for some reason they all asked me out and I always said no.

I am not interested in anyone, including Blake, to be in a relationship with at the moment. Not when I am the way I am right now.

I've been thinking about seeing a new therapist since mine was ways away. But it's always an ass of a process to go through.

"Hey! Nessa!" I heard a name call out to me, I turned around and saw Kate. "Wait up!" She said and finally caught up after a few moments. "Hey! What are you doing over here?" She asked

"Hey, I was just looking for a job, you?" I asked

"My boyfriend and I were over at the music store. He wants to buy a new guitar." She said

"Nice, any plans this weekend?" I asked to keep the conversation going.

"We're going to the club tonight, Ellie and I with a few people. Want to come? I was going to ask you later anyways. We're going to Lux 88 and leaving from Conners' at 9. I'm pretty sure he lives where you do. Ellie told me so, anyways." She finished and I nodded, thinking about it. I could use more alcohol.

"Yeah, sure. Keep me updated on text though?" I asked and she nodded and said see ya later as she ran back to the music store, across the street.

I checked the time and it was 5:52. I could go home and take a little nap.

Hours later...

*Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.*

I opened my eyes and saw the screen flash with Kates name.

Fuck.

Answering the phone, I looked at the time, 9:07.

"Girl! I've been texting and calling for the past hours! Where have you been!" She yelled lightly drunk.

"I'm sorry! I took a nap, I can meet you guys there. I'll uber." I said with my eyes still closed.

"Ok great, we're leaving now and staying for a while so you have time to get ready. I'll text you the address." She hung up and I plopped back down on the bed.

Ding.

Here we go again.

I jumped in the shower, got out and did my hair. Went to my closet and picked out an outfit. I didn't want to over due it and I probably should've asked what kind of club this was but I didn't.

I settled on light blue distressed small shorts with a halter skin tight black tank top. I put on some black vans and did some light makeup. Then I sprayed perfume and ordered the uber.

Finishing up with some gold rings and a gold pearl necklace, the uber was here and I was ready to go.

I go to the club in 20 minutes and the line wasn't that long. I called Kate to tell her I was here and she came to meet up at the front.

We walked towards the group where I met up with Ellie and some people I didn't know.

"Hey guys!" I said and Ellie handed me a drink as well.

"To our new friend!"

"Awe!" I blushed and everyone said to our new friend and then I saw him.

Once again.

Maybe purposely buried behind everyone. Our eyes met and I downed the drink instantly. Everyone cheered and luckily Kate and Ellie took me away to dance with them.

We danced for at least an hour before some guy got behind me and tried to dance with me. I was done after that. The girls somehow kept getting shots for me and I kept taking them.

I think I was about 6 down? I've lost count.

Standing on the patio where it's less crowded, I checked my phone and of course there was nothing on it. I looked around for a spot to sit and found one. Heading over to sit down, I sat and settled comfortably in the chair.

The buzz of the alcohol was taking over me second by second.

"Nessa," I heard and looked up, it was Blake. "You look beautiful tonight." He took the seat next to me.

"You have a thing for staring." I slurred. He just nodded.

Moments of silence passing by, with him next to me was just killing me.

"Blake, you should hate me. You shouldn't even want to talk to me, you shouldn't want to look at me, you shouldn't want to be the one who knows my deepest darkest secrets anymore." I spit out and he just laughed. A small little chuckle like he used to do when he found something more stupid than stupid.

"Well, I don't Nessa. " The urge to keep fighting was there but I kept my mouth shut.

My face was probably beet red. My heart was racing and I thought it was going to explode but I stayed calm and tried to remain calm.

"Nessa, can we just get out of here and talk?" He asked and I groaned.

"Blake I don't even know how many drinks I've had. I'd love to leave but I've said everything I want to say to you for right now." I look at him and his green eyes were piercing.

"Yeah Nessa, well I thought the least you could do was try." He stood up and left.

Well deserved.
