Yet another unpleasant reminder that pushed him closer to that stranger wearing his face. Ivo wanted to remind Yunmi that he had nothing in common with Kuroda, and if the op-sys in his brain was tripwired, then it definitely wasn't by his choice. But he knew how defensive that would make him sound.
Juju was already eyeing him like she was trying to take a close look under his skin.
"You need to get back to the party," Ivo said, addressing Juju but avoiding her eyes. "If anyone asks about me tell them you taught me a lesson I'll never forget. Make it sound bad."
"No one is going to ask." She turned her back on him, took Lili by the hand, and walked out of the office.
