Chapter 46 : Centre Tower 2

Masterfully leaving behind his team to take showers and empty the food cellar, Shikamaru leaves the centre tower.

He left one of his shadow spirits trailing Kabuto, So it wasn't hard to find the guy. And good for him, he still hasn't met with Team 7 yet. In the anime, Kabuto stayed with Team 7 to learn more about them under the pretext of helping them. 

He soon found Kabuto's team. Shikamaru had no idea about the identity of his other teammates, should he kill them, they are from Konoha but they could also be spies like Kabuto. 

'This is the problem with lack of information.' He really doesn't want to kill an innocent just becuase he just happens to be in the same team as Kabuto.

'I need to plan this out, first figure out what needs to be done with these two little guys with Kabuto and then make a plan to kill the cunning medic.

Kabuto currently is almost as strong as Kakashi if Kakashi is not using his Sharingan. Well, Kabuto's threat is that high only becuase that guy is quite cunning and has a really good healing ability.' Shikamaru pondered what to do and decided to follow them from the shadow for a little while before making a foolproof plan.

Ino felt the water droplets hitting her face, the cool sensation was the most refreshing thing she had ever felt in the past few days. Her aching body finally felt alive again as all the dust, mud and sweat washed out by the water. Smooth bright skin was revealed while Ino slowly caressed all over her body to wash and also to some degree show self-love.

There was a happy smile on her face.

"That baka Shikamaru. Acting all cool and warm," Suddenly she muttered when her hands went to her head. Remember how Shikamaru patted her head back then? 

"I promise to protect you Ino, if not then I will make sure to die with you," Ino remembered the words, well they were not exactly what Ino remembered considering Shikamaru was talking about both Ino and Choji here and not just Ino.

But this once again flustered Ino and a pout came to her face. 

"BAKA BAKA BAKA,".

"Tryin to act cool like Sasuke Kun." 

She didn't realize that while cursing she already started to compare Shikamaru to her Sasuke Kun. There was also something which she didn't notice. While completely naked, she started playing with her boobs. Nothing major but to pass the time. Slowly rubbing her fingertip at the nipple while making faces like she was mad at someone. 

On the other hand.

Choji's condition was much better though, he was just enjoying his food.

Other teams were also working hard like the Sand Team was the first one to get to the centre tower. Team 7 were faring much better here than in the anime. Sasuke was fine, Naruto's internal chakra wasn't messed up by Orochimaru. 

But there are downsides here as well like Sakura never got the chance to cut off her hair and grow. Technically this is not that important, Shikamaru planned to never let a situation come where he has to rely on Sakura. That is quite a desperate situation indeed. 

Team 8 was also doing good. Thanks to their tacking skills, it was quite easy for them to find a team with the scroll they needed and even taking them down wasn't that hard. Now the only thing left was to reach the centre tower. 

But again thanks to Hinata, Kiba and Shino's tracking skills, that wasn't hard at all. 

Team 9 might be the strongest team currently in the entire forest and the most balanced. Neji, Lee and Tenten are strong in their own right. Especially Lee and Neji. So there was no problem at all. 

And lastly, Karin, Shikamaru's clone took her out of the forest to the Nara Clan later on. This was the only thing he can do for now. Later he will be meeting the Hokage anyways. That the best time to talk about her too.
