Chapter 55 : Utilizing the Surroundings

Flying towards the tree, Kai maximizes his eyes' ability to scan the surroundings for anything that might help him in his situation

With the ball right behind him he cannot stop moving or he might end up getting hit by it and also he is going to become an easy target by the time he stops his movement.

Without having so many times to decide, Kai grabs a random plant on his way and propels himself to the right, barely evading the ball that follows him from behind, because of the momentum he had it ends up uprooting the plant from the ground that doesn't have strong enough root to support his weight and momentum make his entire body feel like there is an earthquake inside it.

Not even having his time to catch his breath, he heard another ball that was already heading towards where he was.

Even though he feels a little pain in his right hand after he grabs the plant, Kai needs to start moving again after rolling on the ground to avoid the ball that is already close to him.

He can feel his heart rate increasing the more he evades the balls that seem never to give him a time to take a break, heading towards him from every possible direction.

After 10 minutes successfully evading the ball that was coming towards him, he heard there were now 2 different directions where the sound of the balls was coming.

Even though he already tries his hardest to evade it for 5 cycles he ends up failing to evade the last one because of the little room that his father gave him, which makes him overwhelmed and have no room to maneuver.

"Good Job Kai, you are already doing really well on your first couple of tries."

Kai looks to where the sound was coming from and sees his father walking towards him with a smile.

"Thank you father."

Kai said while looking up to his father that had already arrived in front of him and held his right hand.

"Ughh…"

Feeling a sting of pain from his hand he sees his father already applying ointment that always became his medicine whenever he was hurt during this past few weeks training.

He didn't know what kind of ointment it was but the effectiveness of it was really amazing, in a day the wound was usually going to heal fully.

"Do you still want to go young Kai?"

"Yes father."

"Hahaha…, good, that was the full power of YOUTH…"

Kai sees his father who seems always full of energy in the past few weeks even takes full length by taking a leave temporarily from taking on a mission from the mission assignment desk just for training him to be ready for his exam.

He already learned so many techniques in the past a few weeks from his father, that he realizes way better than what they teach in the academy that make him wonder how normal civilians that don't have many resources can even compete.

"Father, can you give me a little more gap between each throw, because it's really hard to evade 2 balls at times with a little gap in between."

"You don't have to evade everything Kai, in today's training as long the ball was not touching you it counts as an evade."

"How to make the ball not touch you, it was up to you what method you use."

Pondering his father's word Kai looked around him and saw many resources in the surroundings that he could use to help him to make sure that the ball was not touching him.

"I understand father"

After figuring out what he could to help him evade the ball, they continue the training.

The more he kept going without taking a hit from the ball, the more balls were coming at him at the same time.

He also noticed the sound of the ball that was coming was way harder to hear than it was supposed to, making it a lot more difficult to know where the ball was coming from because of ambient noise in surroundings.

If not for utilizing his surroundings to limit where the ball was going to come from also speed that he currently had and the eyes that were already with him for many years, he was sure it was impossible to dodge the ball that his father threw.

He also now has an idea what to buy in a system shop to help him compete in upcoming exams that he realizes have become his biggest downside in the past week training.
