Chapter 12- Haru and Kakashi VS. Sakumo

Haru and Kakashi, continued their training every day, with Haru, conquering his fears by gradually moving until he reaches the top of the tree, this method lasted for a month until Haru was no longer afraid.

In that month, they also perfected the flicker technique by moving rapidly in both short and long distances.

After that, Sakumo proceeded to train them in tree maneuver and combat. From time to time, he also taught them tracking and hiding skills. He also increases the level of their body training by climbing a cliff with one hand.

Sakumo also sped up their training in Kenjutsu by teaching them the complete Hatake-style Kenjutsu, although they are only at the beginning stage of it since they need to incorporate their swords with lightning chakra, and they can only achieve that by mastering lighting nature transformation.

He also went ahead and taught them Ninjutsu, such as:

Water-release: [Water trumpet]

Fire-release: [Fire ball], [Great fire ball], and [Fire phoenix]

Wind-release: [Great breakthrough], and [Gale-palm]

Sakumo prepared all these scrolls with the help of Sosuke, since the Hatake clan only have lightning release techniques, Sosuke provided the techniques for the other 4 elements.

Although they have many techniques in their repertoire, but they only prepared these simple techniques for them to start, especially Haru since he did have affinities of the 5 elements.

Although Kakashi only has lightning affinity, this did not mean he can't learn the others, but it will take him some time to master it.

Sakumo also started their water walking exercise, well, surprised to say that Haru have a little difficulty in doing this exercise since it is much harder and more complicated than tree-walking, and since he did not know how to swim, Sakumo also took the liberty to teach him, before doing the water walking.

After a few months of training, Sakumo went back to his duty, and Haru and Kakashi continued to train hard.

He explained that the important part to do a one-handed seal, are having dexterity, excellent chakra control, and memory. It's because you need to mold chakra by using only one hand, aside from that, you also need to remember the flow of chakra of each technique you use to mold chakra.

Since Haru has these characteristics, he started to practice using a one-handed seal of all the techniques he had. Aside from that, Haru and Kakashi also sparred with each other, they also sparred with Minato and Kushina when they are free.

And to the surprised of the two, the two kids can catch up with them. During this time, Minato also started to learn the [Flying Thunder God jutsu], at the same time learning advanced Fuinjutsu with Rin. Haru saw this and quickly made 5 [Shadow clones], and took out his tanto, after instructing his clones, Haru made some hand-seals and evoke [Katon: Great fire ball] towards Sakumo.

Sakumo saw the fireball coming behind him and he jumps to the left side to evade but Haru's clones are already waiting to that side and quickly attack him using their swords.

Sakumo saw this and parried the sword strike coming towards him while, punching and kicking the shadow clones.

Haru saw this and quickly summon another 2 [Shadow clone], Haru made some distance away from the two clones, and afterward, he jumps towards them, the clones use [Fuuton: Gale palm] at Haru's feet to accelerate his speed towards Sakumo.

While Sakumo is on the last clone, he notices Haru coming towards him at fast speed with his tanto. Sakumo kicks the last clone and raises his sword to take Haru's attack. Sakumo skids back a little due to Haru's momentum.

Haru keeps on attacking Sakumo using his sword while Sakumo just parried him while thinking where Kakashi is since he did not yet attack.

Haru raises his sword with both of his hands and smashes down, Sakumo uses one hand to take his attack. Haru gritted his teeth and made a single hand sign on the hand that is holding his tanto.

Haru uses [Raiton: Lightning bolt] to run on his tanto towards Sakumo, Sakumo was surprised when he saw this, and quickly retreated, but then he saw Haru, using one-handed seals again using his free hand and unleash another [Katon: Great fireball] towards him.

Sakumo retreated when he saw Haru's technique coming towards him he wanted to evade but his feet were held by a hand on the ground and he heard Kakashi's voice beneath him, [Doton: Double suicide decapitation].

After that Kakashi, drag down his father towards the ground, and he jump back to retreat, while Haru's great fireball engulf Sakumo on the ground.

Kakashi went towards Haru and look at the attack they made, Haru squinted his eyes and saw a burnt log on the spot where Sakumo is.

When they saw that they quickly raise their guard and Haru uses his Mind's eye to locate Sakumo. And then he saw someone rushing behind them,

"Kakashi, behind us"

He said before the two of them retreated barely missing the attack made by Sakumo. The two looks at Sakumo and saw him smiling,

"Well, I never would have thought that the two of you would join hands like that, if I were an ordinary jonin I would be dead,"

He pauses and then continued, "Especially you Haru, I never thought that you could use one-handed seals"

Haru sheepishly smiled at his uncle, and then he heard Sakumo's words, "But, if you want to defeat me, it is not enough"

They saw Sakumo disappeared on his spot, and appeared behind them, Haru turned around, but he receives a kick towards him, he raises his arm to defend, and he is thrown away. Kakashi saw this and started to fight his father using Kenjutsu.

While they are having close combat, Kakashi weave seals using one hand.

Sakumo is surprised to see Kakashi also doing one-handed seals. After doing that, Kakashi puts his hand on his mouth and releases [Suiton: Water trumpet], water gushes from his mouth towards his father while at the same time, using his hand that held the tanto, he evokes [Raiton: Lightning strike].

The combination of both water and lightning made Sakumo retreat mid-air, but this is what Haru is waiting for, Haru with the help of a shadow clone, simultaneously releases, [Katon: Great fireball] and [Fuuton: Great breakthrough].

The combination of these two techniques is devastating, Sakumo then made hand-seals and use a shadow clone to help him evade the technique.

After that, he appeared in front of the two and saw them exhausted. He smiled at them and said,

"Okay, this is enough"

Haru and Kakashi releases a sigh of relief and sat down while panting, well it cannot be blamed on them, fighting Sakumo with everything they got is really too much for them.

Sakumo then walk towards the two and pats their heads and said,

"I am really surprised by the growth of you two. I never would have expected that you use combination Jutsu to that extent. Aside from that, you also achieve doing one-handed seals. This will catch your opponent off guard when you use it at the right timing.

Also, Kakashi, it is a good idea that you master other techniques such as the [Suiton: Water trumpet] and [Doton: Double suicide decapitation]. Why did you choose to learn the two?"

"Well, dad, Haru already decided to show just lightning, fire, and wind, so I decided to master the other two to complement his weakness if things go wrong"

Sakumo nodded in understanding, and he continued,

Now, individually, you two can defeat an ordinary Chunin level ninja, but when the two of you joined hands, you can at least fight an ordinary Jonin level ninja, or defeat them using surprise attacks.
