Naruto: Tales of Ashihara
Kakumei – Arc 4: Might Makes Right
.
Chapter 106 – Kakumei's Epilogue
.
On the 3rd training ground of Konoha, the 7th Hokage is having a face off with 3 people at once. Izuna Uchiha, Sakura Uchiha and Boruto Hyuga. Aware of the brand new level of power they have reached, he asked them all 3 to go all out on him, to measure the change this could bring.
Boruto, using his new Dojutsu and its Tensei Chakra Mode, goes as far as he could learn on his own against Kawaki while also putting his Hiraishin at use, which obviously shocks Naruto. He hadn't kept track of his son's training, so to see him use his grandfather's signature all of a sudden is somewhat heartwarming.
Izuna and Sakura both have unleashed the new version of the Byakugo seal: the Sengo, strength of a Thousand. It looks identical to its prior form but adds black contours around the user's eyes when using the creation and rebirth state. Aside from appearance, it is totally different in concept. The chakra it stores is an ever growing quantity of mystical energy comparable to that of the strongest Otsutsuki that Earth has met. It grants a far greater boost in speed and strength than a Sennin Mode, and its creation and rebirth can even fully regenerate severed limbs and body parts.
Sitting aside is Inoue Yamanaka who came there to witness this training session. While she looks at her two teammates pushing their sensei to get way more implied in a fight than she ever could, she shows somewhat of a sad expression on her face. Behind her comes Sasuke Uchiha who also just came to see what was happening.
He obviously notices the young girl's confusion and comments on what he sees to get her attention, just as his son unleashes his Susanoo.
"Izuna should be able to do more than just this form of Susanoo." he says, noticing that it is still only a standard half body. "He has the same eyes as Oshio, so he should have the same level of Susanoo. He still needs training. Same goes for Boruto. He looks like he has no idea what he's doing and only throws anything by instinct. They can't even force Naruto into using his Biju Chakra Mode."
Inoue looks at the wanderer standing next to her and and at the fight, not reassured. Therefore, Sasuke makes the situation clear to her.
"These two may be in another league now, but as you can see, together they still won't achieve anything without support and actual well thought strategy." he explains. "This is what you bring to the team. Intelligence and support. No matter how strong they are, they can't work together without you. In a way, you're still the strongest of the squad. Same went for my wife… until now." he finishes as he sees this short fight get near its end.
Frustrated by how unbothered and observing his father seems, Boruto acts careless for a second and joins all 9 of his Gudodama into a golden blade.
Kinrin Tensei Baku
To stop this moon crushing blast before it lands, Naruto coats his hand in his Biju's yang energy and catches his son by the ankle, dismissing the blade. To get rid of him, he locks his Boruto's arm in his own back and plunges him against the ground before holding him down with one hand. Startled, Boruto lets himself be handled. Even now that he has such godlike power, he seems to be nowhere near half of his father's level, which infuriates but also captivates him. As Naruto is focused on his son, he senses an intense heat coming forward. It is Izuna using his Susanoo's burning fist.
Susanoo Rasen Enken
To counter this, Naruto uses his free hand to oppose the rolling fire with a Suiton - Rasengan. The element and raw power of this jutsu eliminates the fire of Izuna's fist and blasts the Susanoo's arm off. However, helped with the Sengo's chakra, the armor seems to quickly repair from these damages. While his two hands are taken, he senses once another strong attack coming.
Just as he looks aside, he takes Sakura's reinforced punch into his face, sending him fluttering into the sky hundreds of meters away in a second, before he stops himself by floating back to the ground. Looking down to where he was a second ago, he sees Sakura stand in the middle of a broken and shaken field, damaged by just the recoil of what should have been an easy punch. If he had reacted in time, he could have made a clone or a chakra arm to hold her back, but he doubts it would have canceled her landing. That strength he felt shaking his face was like none he ever felt before.
Izuna got incredibly stronger, enough to destroy this whole village and more in a single punch, but Sakura is even better. She's far more trained and experienced, which makes her fist even more deadly. So much more that he actually has a severe bruise on his cheek and his nose is bleeding strongly. This punch actually had him passing out for a short second.
Sakura, seeing her friend's face as he comes back, looks at her own hands, amazed. Izuna undoes his Susanoo, Sharingan and Sengo when he sees the Hokage make a sign to stop this fight. Boruto acts unhappy about it, but Naruto clearly saw enough. About his son, he found out that he was now mighty enough to destroy a world.
Even though Naruto is the one who ends the fight, Inoue and Sasuke can clearly see that Boruto and Izuna are nearly tired anyway. It's better for them to stop. Seeing them out of strength, the young Yamanaka thinks of what Sasuke just told her again and smiles. She happily stands up and goes to bring a water bottle to her new boyfriend.
.
The same day, in the evening, Naruto is standing on the roof of the Hokage's mansion with Kakashi Hatake to whom he talks about the fight he had this morning.
Sasuke and Sakura come to join them, to make conclusions and observations all together. She has her head lying on his shoulder with a thoughtful face. It looks like these two were discussing more personal and recent matters, such as the true reason for Kakumei and Oshio's existence. To think that Momoshiki Otsutsuki really stole her unborn child is obviously terrifying but also outrageous. It makes her wonder how powerful this clan actually can be, but also causes her to develop the same hatred towards them as her husband.
Naruto, sensing the heavy thoughts of his former teammates, looks down to the village that he didn't get to see like this in a while to think of a brighter topic to discuss. He then turns around to lean on the balcony and see the Hokage cliff monument with still the same 7 faces as before.
"For real, Sakura, that you've taken on the role while I wasn't there is unexpected." he says cheerfully. "I really thought it would be Konohamaru or you, Kakashi-sensei… But it's true that taking you actually makes more sense. You're doing half of what was Tsunade's job as Hokage. You're smarter than me, and now maybe even stronger than me."
"Ha! You're exaggerating." Sakura says, pulled out of her bad thoughts. "I'm different but I don't think I caught up to you two."
"You punch harder than me, at least that's for sure." Naruto argues. "This feeling I get from the power in your seal, and from that punch earlier… To make it simple, your Byakugo basically became an artificial Rikudo sage mode. It feels like you have a whole Juubi inside your forehead. If you had this during the 4th war, you'd have been the strongest of us."
Sakura smiles, flattered by her friend's praise. Next to her, Sasuke stays quiet and frowns. His wife's power is a combination of cosmic, natural and Rikudo energy. After his improvised training of these last 2 months, he has become able to fuse his left eye's Rikudo chakra and natural energy as well, but Sakura's thing is more than just that.
While his sage energy is close in feeling to what Obito Uchiha or Naruto had during the war, Sakura's is closer to Kaguya or Momoshiki. Could it be that the Shiva O' Seishin she summoned belongs to or was created by another Otsutsuki clan member?
"Let's say this was Lady Tsunade's last gift to us." Sakura says to describe her power. "And don't put all the praise on me, Naruto! Izuna earned the exact same power. He's been through a lot this last year and half. To him, this is somehow the prize for enduring it so far… Boruto also changed a lot. He's just like Toneri Otsutsuki now!"
"Yeah! The Tenseigan." Naruto replies. "It's weird. I have no idea where he got that from."
Sasuke, still silent, exchanges a quick gaze with Kakashi as they both remember what these eyes once did to the world. Then, the Uchiha reminds himself of his only encounter with Toneri in person. He recalls what he told him about the Tenseigan being a power of Hamura's lineage that can only be manifested by one living being at a time. Since he gave this as the reason why he wouldn't try to get it again, this must mean that Toneri was aware of Boruto's ability to awaken it.
"Now, Izuna has enough strength to destroy a city with his fist, and my son has eyes that can blow up the moon…" the Hokage wonders aloud. "How should we handle this exactly?"
"Sakura and you will educate Izuna. I will take care of Boruto." Sasuke suggests.
"I know we figured it this way…" Naruto exclaims. "But is Boruto really ready for this? You won't be in the village very often. Can he handle being as absent as you?"
"I've discussed this with him already." Sasuke explains, before elaborating. "It seems like the Tenseigan has many similarities with my Rinnegan and other powers I know. I'll be able to guide his training to master this Dojutsu, and will get to learn more about it at the same time… Remember when I told you about preparing them to replace us? Boruto clearly is the type who'd want to go on a mission like mine. He'll actually enjoy it way more than I do. And with what happened to me and Oshio, I can tell this expedition is far from over."
"Maybe it's time you tell us about that, Sasuke." Kakashi breaks his silence and tries to direct the conversation to what matters. "What happened to you these last 2 months?"
Sakura steps away from Sasuke to let him stand alone. The Uchiha closes his eyes, recalls his last fight against the Otsutsuki, and prepares to tell it.
"As Oshio told you, I was brought to fight against Otsutsuki clan members." he starts. "Two of them at the same time. One was Urashiki Otsutsuki whom I had already met together with Momoshiki. I thought he was dead, but it doesn't matter anymore because I'm certain to have killed him this time… The important matter is the other I fought. Someone called Tokubei Otsutsuki that Urashiki addressed with an odd respectful manner. This man, Tokubei, had the weapons of Itachi's Susanoo."
Kakashi widely opens his eyes, surprised by this fact, and sees Naruto do the same, he who knows what these said weapons are.
"This man said he was the one who gave them to my brother in the first place." Sasuke continues. "He seems to have a connection to Indra that I ignore. He took me by surprise and could have killed me if it wasn't for a 3rd member of this clan to intervene. A woman named Naobi Otsutsuki."
"Naobi… Like the divinity worshiped by the Tomoe clan of Shin no Kuni?" Kakashi remarks.
"It may have a link. One thing is sure. She's worth worshiping." the Uchiha replies. "She didn't even do much, but just as soon as she arrived, Tokubei and I both knew we weren't a match for her… What's interesting about her coming is that she mentioned saving me from death because of some allowance rule they have to follow. This, added to the golden horned man who gave Izuna the eyes to fight Oshio…"
"The Dragon Sage…" Naruto comments, reminded of him by the golden horns attribute. "At least this means they really aren't our enemies."
"Not for now at least. These two helping us shows that the main Otsutsuki clan wants to keep us alive. Which confirms that those we faced until now, like Kaguya, Momoshiki and Katashiki are actually traitors of the clan. This Dragon Sage needs us alive for some reason and I need to know why… Also, this Naobi referred to Momoshiki as her nephew. To trap me, she used a Genjutsu called Kamimusubi."
"It's the same as…" Sakura starts to say, before Sasuke interrupts.
"Yes. This ability must have many uses because it is the same power that Momoshiki used to modify reality and take Oshio away from us. However, he only stole a part of his aunt's chakra to use it once. Naobi herself may be able to use it at will."
Naruto, Sakura and Kakashi stand agape, astonished by this fact. Sasuke sees their justified reactions and decides to explain one last thing to the Hokage.
"Naruto… This means there are beings stronger than us, stronger than Momoshiki." he says. "This time, we've been too easy and almost got both ourselves killed. If we die, if you die, the world is doomed. I told this to you countless times already. If you ever die, Naruto, I'll have to bring you back. I won't have a choice. But if I die before you, it's more complicated. This is why I prepared something. And Sakura's new power makes it all easier."
The other members of team 7 stay quiet and listen attentively as Sasuke lifts his hair covering his left eye to show it to them.
"With my left eye, Naruto, I can use Rinne Tensei to undo your death if it ever happens." he explains before pointing at his other eye. "And in my right eye, I sealed the Izanagi. It is set to activate after my possible death if my body is infused with Rikudo sage chakra. At first I thought of this to make sure you, Naruto, could bring me back when I die at only the cost of my right eye. But now that you, Sakura, unlocked the same nature of chakra, you and Izuna could do it as well."
Naruto and Kakashi both squint, intrigued by Sasuke's strategy. This reminds Naruto of what Itachi explained to him, and what Kurozetsu later told about Madara. Both of these Uchiha used a similar method of sealing a jutsu in a Dojutsu for it to activate at a specific trigger event.
"So in case you die, we'll just have to get to your body and start to heal you as if you were still alive?" Sakura asks, troubled by this eventuality. "But how will you make sure we can get to your body? If you're in another dimension like this time, how will we get to you?"
"This will be up to me and Boruto." Sasuke says. "I'll seal Chimatakami in his eyes to activate if his mind is ever met with the realization that he's stuck in another dimension. This way, if I die in battle he'll bring us back to Konoha. If we're just in another world but still in this universe, he'll simply use Hiraishin."
"And what if an enemy powerful enough kills Boruto before killing you?" Naruto asks, perplexed.
"This won't happen. Trust me." Sasuke promptly replies. "Just like I swore to Oshio that as long as I live, Momoshiki will stay dead, I swear to you that I won't let Boruto die before me. I'll protect him at any cost. Don't worry about this."
Done with his explanation and justification, he sees the amazed faces of his former teammates, surprised by how well thought and willful his initiative is. Embarrassed by this attention, Sasuke sighs and turns around to get to the staircase.
There's still plenty to discover and unveil." he says. "Boruto and I will leave tomorrow evening."
Sakura, seeing her husband leave, hurries to follow him home. Naruto waves goodbye at Kakashi and leaves as well, back to his office as he is not done with his day. Kakashi just stands there, eyes widely open and eyebrows raised.
He sees his 3 former students who went even further than how far they already were during the war, discuss not only the ongoing conflict but also the long term fate of this world. Sasuke has become a strategist similar to Madara Uchiha. Naruto is regarded as an emblem equal to the Rikudo Sennin himself, and Sakura now has strength and abilities that greatly surpass even Hashirama Senju.
The 6th Hokage rubs his forehead awkwardly and shakes his head lightly to come back to reality. He feels glad that his students can take care of everything on their own now, and that he, even in just a discussion like this one, isn't needed anymore. He leaves as well, to go home with his wife and enjoy retirement.
.
.
Next day in the evening, ninjas of Iwa who were sent to Konoha by the Tsuchikage to escort the leader of Kakumei to their prison, are on their way to the entrance of the village. Oshio Uchiha is strapped to an upstanding bed and wearing a sealed straitjacket, eyeless.
When his rolling bed stops, he senses a short-sized ninja standing before him. Judging from his height and chakra, he must be less than 13 years old. He emits an intense feeling of hate that he calmly holds back. Oshio quickly guesses that this kid must have lost a parent because of Kakumei.
Maybe he is one of the 2 survivors of the temple that Fuyuko and Akiko destroyed. Maybe he is the son of the temple's leader. Whoever this kid is, there are certainly countless others like him across the continent who hate him just as much as he does.
The young ninja holds his feelings back and leads the prisoner to the entrance of the village where he stops again in front of visitors who came to speak with Oshio, and that he has to let do. Oshio senses his father, brother, mother and a little girl in front of him. He guesses that the girl is his younger sister, Sarada, that he meets for the first time.
"Why did you give me the eyes back?" Izuna asks, feeling like he needs an answer.
"You'll certainly need them more than me now." Oshio mocks himself. "The enemies I was preparing for are still on the way. And you'll have to replace me in this fight. Fortunately, it turns out you won't be alone." he adds at last as he faces his parents. After a short silence, he tilts his head down toward Sarada. "It is the first time we ever meet, isn't it, sister? I don't really make a great first impression."
"I think it's the best you could do." Sarada replies, not bothered about how this ambiguous statement could be understood. "It's weird to think that you could have just been my big brother, like Izuna."
"Hahaha! No, I couldn't." Oshio answers, amused by her naivety, before addressing his whole family. "I had a definitive victory over the Union. It's just a matter of time before the feudal system is abolished and absolute decision power is given to the Kage. Don't expect me to be free at any time. It will only guarantee a deception. I'm a lost cause… The least I can do is wait to die, and see the world through Izuna's eyes. I'll see what could have been for me."
Izuna and Sarada look down sadly, not knowing what to add. Sasuke does the same, more worried about what he'll have to do from now on. Sakura, however, doesn't let her son get away with such pessimism.
"I don't want to let Momoshiki win like this." she says. "Sasuke will do all he can to prevent his return, but even with that, it still feels like a loss if I never get to have you as my son."
Oshio smiles gladly and breathes in, ready to be carried away.
"It's a shame I couldn't meet you earlier, mother." he says as the ninjas of Iwa prepare to take him away. "It feels like… you could have changed everything sooner, if you had been offered a chance to do so."
Sakura doesn't answer, she just firmly holds her hands together against her own chest. Oshio, now back to them, remembers one last thing he needs to ask Sasuke, just for his own inner peace.
"One last thing." he says, causing the Iwa-nins to stop for a moment, to let him talk. "Father, when you awakened your own left eye, what did you see?"
"What do you mean?" Sasuke asks, confusingly.
"I mean, don't you remember having a vision of a certain thing?" Oshio says, thinking of the absolute spirit that appeared to him when he ate the fruit.
"Not at all." Sasuke answers. "My Rinnegan was awakened by the fusion of my Sharingan with the chakra gifted to me by the Rikudo-Sennin. If I understood correctly, it is the same for you except the gifted chakra came from a fruit made of a divine tree." he elaborates, knowing that this difference may mean that Oshio saw the so-called Rikudo realm in a vision as he's mentioning.
"It's true…" Oshio says, before going silent. Sasuke guessed right about the meaning of this question, but he seems unaware of the existence of the absolute spirit that Oshio saw. The reason this entity appeared to him must be because it is somehow connected to the divine trees as a whole. What this shape was, what it meant and what it wanted is a mystery that he will not have the privilege to unveil. And as long as his father ignores it, nobody on Earth will unveil it.
"My opinion of this world's fate remains the same." Oshio says to his father behind him as the ninjas leave with him, deciding to keep his thoughts on the absolute force silent and question another point. "Naruto Uzumaki and you may be back, but you still don't have the guts to sacrifice your humanity. Everything is doomed to annihilation when the celestial gods finally come upon us."
"And we'll prove you wrong on that too." Sasuke replies. "No sacrifice will be needed. We'll face and defeat these celestials as humans. And one last thing: They are no gods."
To this faithful answer, the former leader of Kakumei and Hikarigakure grins and doesn't reply. Sakura, sharing her husband's hopes, takes Sasuke's hand and warmly holds it as she sees her lost son being carried away by the Iwa-nins, accepting his fate. As he sees his first born be taken away, Sasuke looks down to Izuna with the sudden need to explain himself.
"Izuna… I'm sorry." he says, without explaining why.
"No, I'm sorry." his son replies, giving a reason. "I've misjudged you for too long. Oshio really was my brother all along. You and Mom knew it because you knew you'd never betray each other, but I didn't believe it."
"I feel sorry for the path that was forced on you two." Sasuke answers. "You were born in Naruto's age. An age of peace. My adversity with the celestials shouldn't have reached you. You should not have had to fight your brother."
"It's ok." Izuna says. "I may have fallen in hatred, but I was saved. I didn't have the same fate as you. Someone helped me through." he explains, while looking aside to see Inoue who's standing further, close to the entrance. They confidently look into each other's eyes with a smile.
Then, after this short discussion, a silence. The Uchiha family stands there until Oshio is out of sight. Sasuke clenches his fist, determined to fix the curse that was forced onto his son. He looks down to see his second son distracted by something else, and gets his attention with a nod on the shoulder.
Izuna turns around and sees his father open his hand to show a piece of Oshio's white receivers. It is the rod that Izuna had thrown away before going to fight his brother, right after he had the visions. Sasuke found it on a roof next to their house and thought it would be better to keep it close.
"Hold onto this." Sasuke says.
Izuna takes the objects and firmly holds it in his clenched fist. He looks up to his dad with gratitude, and is suddenly struck by an odd feeling of doubt.
"Now what?" he asks, feeling uncertain.
Sakura wraps her arms around Sasuke's arm and tightly holds him, while Sarada does the same on his left leg, as the father prepares to leave again.
"Now, I have to go on." he says. "People like those I've fought 2 months ago could come back anytime. I need to know what motivates them. I may not want to do it, but I'm the only one who can seek these answers."
He looks aside and sees his student, Boruto Hyuga, saying goodbye to his family as he will leave together with him. He then stares at his family again. With two of his fingers, he gently pucks on his daughter's forehead, just like his elder brother used to do. Then he calmly kisses his wife's forehead, ready to leave again.
Meanwhile, just a few meters aside, Boruto is saying goodbye to his family.
"Did you pack everything you need?" Hinata asks, worriedly.
"Don't worry. If I ever need anything, I'll pass by with Hiraishin." Boruto reassures her. "I'm not going forever, mom."
"He'll be safe by Sasuke's side, Hinata. Don't worry." Naruto says to his wife.
Next to the Hokage, Hiashi Hyuga, former head of the clan, steps forward and hands a sword and scabbard to his grandson.
"It is dangerous to go unarmed. Take this." he says. "It is a relic white katana that once belonged to an ancient chief of the Hyuga main branch. It will be of great use to someone with your eyes, and your master certainly has plenty to teach you about Kenjutsu."
Boruto looks at the blade and gladly takes it. He attaches it on his back before bowing to salute his grandfather. He hugs his mother who refuses to let go for half a minute before accepting her husband's positivity. He then gives a simple fist bump to his younger sister, Himawari.
Hanabi Hyuga, standing next to her father, warmly greets him as well, hesitatingly. Normally, she'd improvise a short provocative battle against him to say goodbye, but this young man has grown far too powerful to find this challenging. She simply smiles, and lets him go.
The young jonin then looks at his Dad who raises his hand for a fist bump, to which Boruto replies.
"Just as I told you." Naruto says. "Becoming Sasuke's student is signing in for a special life. Today is your first step in this life. Are you ready?"
"Sure I am!" Boruto confidently replies before stepping away.
Naruto nods to say goodbye, and to authorize his son to go on his way. Boruto looks at everyone one last time and smiles before turning around.
Behind him stands Rebekka who came with Inoue and others to see him leave but is the only one to have stepped forward.
"What's up, bro?" she says.
"Oh, long story, sis, what about you?" he jokingly says.
Rebekka smiles and grabs him by the ear to get a better look at his face. Boruto almost gets red when he sees her bring her own face up close to him.
"Sorry to say it, But I preferred the white eyes." she remarks, to mock him.
As a reply, Boruto turns off his Tenseigan and returns to the Byakugan.
"There you go. This is better. Why didn't you do that before?" she adds, to no answer. "That scar actually looks good on you. I'm glad it didn't heal away."
"Weird compliment but ok." Boruto replies before going silent, hesitating to say goodbye. Rebekka goes ahead for him.
"There, run away bro." she exclaims. "Come back when you're old enough for me!"
She kicks his butt and lets him go toward the door. Boruto lightly laughs, embarrassed by her comment that he doesn't know if he should take it seriously or not. He looks aside to see Metal Lee, Mirai Sarutobi, Shiba Inuzuka, Megane Fuma, Inoue Yamanaka and the 3 kids of the next Ino-Shika-Cho generation.
He raises his hand and waves goodbye to everyone. Then, he looks back at Rebekka, and waves again, more shyly. He takes a deep breath in and looks the other way, finally ready to leave the village behind. On the way, he crosses Izuna's gaze and simply nods in respect to him.
He gets side by side with his master at the gate and nods again, to say he's ready to go. Sasuke looks at Naruto, and at his family one last time, and turns around. Boruto takes a deep breath in and prepares to follow his sensei into the unknown but is stopped by his name being called by a familiar voice.
He turns around and sees the journalist, Kanojo Doroku, come to him running. He feels a bit awkward for not thinking about her before leaving, but lets her come.
"Boruto!" she exclaims as she reaches him and stops, out of breath. After a moment, she stands up straight and speaks. "It's been a while since I last saw you. I'm glad everything got back in place."
"Well, you're not gonna see me in a while again." Boruto simply says, shaking his bag and cape to show that he's leaving the village.
"In that case, when you pass by again, don't forget to knock at my door." she answers.
"I never went to your house. I don't even know where you live." Boruto blankly replies.
"It doesn't matter! Just follow my dad and find out!" she exclaims, unsettled by Boruto's lack of participation. "Just don't let me miss you, ok?"
Boruto squints quickly and makes a suspicious smile, not sure to understand her request. He stands there, waiting for an explanation.
"It's just that… I'm sure I'm pretty obvious about it, but… I love you." Kanojo says, a bit reluctantly, having no idea how he may react to this.
Boruto widely opens his eyes in surprise. He remembers what busied his thoughts these last months and what has long been the last thing Izuna told him. "You don't even feel love. You can't experience love. All you're meant for is to fight and kill people you dumbly select as rivals, until you finally die.". This is what his teammate said in his anger.
Boruto doesn't reply to Kanojo. He just feels glad that her confession proves a part of Izuna's assumption wrong. He may not be a senseless fighting monster after all. Simply by being himself, he caused someone to fall in love. However, having come as far as now, he really wouldn't have minded being just a fighter for a while. To know he can love and feel love is good, but it's really not a good time for this. Besides, it's possible that Kanojo's love only originates from him being the 7th's son and the Hyuga heir, and not a genuine person.
So, he just shows a wide smile to Kanojo and turns around without a word. Boruto gets by his master's side and leaves the village in which he grew up and was taught until now. His mind is focused on 3 objectives.
First is to learn about his abilities and get to master them enough to one day stand on the same tier as his father. Second is to find Kawaki, his rival who disappeared after their battle and left everyone to think he was killed. Third is to follow Sasuke and investigate the clan that Hamura Otsutsuki wants him to fight against.
.
This is how the tale of the rise of Konoha's new generation ends. Izuna Uchiha, Boruto Hyuga, Sakura Uchiha, and others from this village don't know it yet, but from the conflict brought upon them by Oshio, they were made ready for the much more dangerous threats incoming.
After such a rise, Boruto and Izuna have no rivals remaining in other nations. Takeshi Minamoto, who was until now undoubtedly the most powerful ninja from after the 4th war, is suddenly dropped to the 3rd place after the battle of the capital of fire. However, he himself is only at the beginning of his self-discovery.
