Chapter 1: The Rebirth of Lightning

The storm howled over the peaks of Kumogakure, the Village Hidden in the Clouds. Rain lashed down in sheets, pounding against the rooftops and streets. Thunder cracked the sky, as if the heavens themselves were waging war. Lightning struck the earth with the fury of a god, a fitting display for a village born of storms and lightning. But deep within the heart of the village, a far more extraordinary event was taking place.

Ei opened her eyes.

She was a newborn in this world, but her mind was anything but infantile. There was a fog at first, confusion clouding her senses. Where was she? She felt warmth around her, the arms of a woman who she instinctively knew was her mother. She could hear the soft hum of voices, low and reverent, but none of that made sense to her just yet.

And then the memories hit her all at once, like the flash of lightning outside.

Her name had been something different in her past life, though she couldn't quite recall what. But she had lived in another world, a world of peace and technology. It had been nothing like the place she found herself now. A world without shinobi, without war. A world where the *Naruto* series had been a work of fiction, something she had watched with great interest. She had adored the series, and she knew every plot point by heart.

But that was impossible. *This* was impossible.

The dim lantern light flickered overhead, casting long shadows in the small room. She turned her head as much as her tiny body would allow, squinting to take in the surroundings. Her eyes fell upon a man standing nearby, his presence towering and commanding. He had arms like tree trunks, a body carved from muscle, and eyes like molten gold that radiated power. She knew this man.

*The Third Raikage.*

Her heart pounded in her chest as realization dawned on her. She had been reborn into the world of Naruto—*not as a mere background character or a civilian,* but as the daughter of the Third Raikage, one of the strongest shinobi in the entire world. The words she overheard confirmed what she already feared: her name was Ei, and she was no ordinary child.

Thunder boomed again, this time closer, shaking the very walls of the building. The Raikage stepped forward, casting a long shadow over the room. He was silent, but his presence spoke volumes. His wife—the woman holding her—smiled softly at him, cradling the infant in her arms with care.

"She will be strong," the Third Raikage said after what felt like an eternity, his deep voice rumbling like distant thunder. His eyes gleamed with pride, but there was a severity to them as well, as if he could already see the trials that awaited his daughter. In Kumogakure, strength was everything. To be the daughter of the Raikage meant expectations beyond what most could bear. Ei could sense it even in her newborn state.

Her mind reeled, trying to process everything. She remembered dying. She had been… somewhere else. Another world. How did she get here? And why? These questions churned in her mind, but no answers came. All she knew was that she had been reborn with her memories intact, and somehow, she had taken the place of Ei, the daughter of the Third Raikage, a being destined to become a force of nature in her own right.

The storm raged outside, as though the sky itself were heralding her arrival into this new life. The woman—her mother, she realized—whispered a lullaby, trying to soothe her back to sleep. But Ei's mind was wide awake. She could feel the crackle of energy in the air, and even though she was a newborn, her senses were sharper than ever. *I have to survive. I have to thrive,* she thought. *This world is brutal. It is dangerous. But I know the path I must walk.*

In the distance, she could hear the echoes of battle, the distant cries of shinobi locked in combat. The Second Ninja World War had reached its peak, and Kumogakure was embroiled in conflict just like the other great nations. She remembered from the anime that this era would mark the end of the Second Raikage's rule and the ascension of her father. History was playing out right before her eyes, and she was a part of it now.

"I will make her the strongest," the Third Raikage muttered under his breath, his gaze never leaving her tiny form. "She will surpass me."

His words hung heavy in the air, filled with conviction and certainty. In the world of shinobi, weakness was not an option. Strength was everything. It was how you survived, how you protected those you cared about, how you made a name for yourself. And for her, the daughter of the Raikage, it was her birthright.

A surge of determination filled Ei. She wasn't just any child in this world—she had knowledge, memories, and now, the powers that had yet to awaken. Powers of Raiden Mei, Raiden Ei, and Acheron herself. She had been reborn with the potential to surpass the very gods of this world.

---

Days passed in a blur, and Ei quickly realized that time was her greatest enemy. In her mind, she was an adult, but in this body, she was helpless. Unable to move, to train, to wield the immense power she knew lay dormant within her. Her mother, ever doting and caring, often cooed over her, unaware of the storm brewing within her daughter's mind.

The day she heard her name for the first time, everything clicked into place.

"Ei, little Ei," her mother whispered sweetly. "You'll be a great kunoichi one day."

Ei. It was fitting, wasn't it? She had admired Raiden Ei, one of her favorite characters from *Genshin Impact*, for her grace, her power, her unshakable will. And now, in this world of storms and shinobi, she was Ei. The name felt right, like the storm had chosen her, just as it had chosen the Raikage to lead Kumogakure.

---

Months passed, and Ei began to explore her new world as much as her infant body would allow. Though she couldn't yet speak or walk, her mind was sharp. She listened to everything—her parents' conversations, the murmurs of the village, the tense reports of the ongoing war. And always, she kept her senses attuned to the lightning chakra that seemed to pulse faintly in the air around her.

As the daughter of the Raikage, her chakra naturally gravitated toward the element of lightning. She could feel it, even as a child—the faint hum of electricity just beneath her skin. It was a power she would one day learn to control, to wield, but for now, it remained dormant, waiting for her body to catch up to her soul.

By the time her first birthday came, Ei had learned enough about her surroundings to know that her life would be anything but easy. Her father, the Third Raikage, was a living legend. Kumogakure thrived under his leadership, but it was a village of warriors, where strength was the only thing that mattered. She would be expected to follow in his footsteps, to surpass him even. The weight of that expectation was heavy, but Ei embraced it.

*I will grow strong,* she promised herself. *Stronger than anyone in this world.*

And as the storm outside began to ease, the sky still rumbling with distant thunder, Ei closed her eyes, already planning her path forward.

---

That was the beginning of the Rebirth of Lightning, the first steps of a kunoichi destined to shake the very foundations of the world. A girl who would one day become a legend in her own right, wielding powers that transcended time, space, and reality.

But for now, Ei was just a child—a child born in the eye of the storm.
