Kakashi Pt. 2

Guys, enjoy the weekend bonus chapter.

.....

Kakashi appeared unexpectedly in front of Naruto. His distinctive hair was easily recognizable, making the mask he wore rather pointless.

Naruto gave him a strange look and seemed to know who he was. Kakashi, puzzled, asked, "Do you know me?"

It was clear from Naruto's expression that he recognized Kakashi, which raised suspicions. Kakashi had served in Anbu for many years, long before Naruto was born. With his experience and skills, he couldn't have overlooked the subtle signs from a three-year-old child. But Naruto had shown genuine surprise, making his act believable.

Naruto quickly changed his demeanor and put on a mask of innocence, asking, "Who are you? Are you looking for me?"

Beneath the mask, Kakashi frowned. He had a sense that this child was more complex than he let on. Still, he couldn't be more than three years old, right?

Naruto? The child of Master.

Kakashi was Minato's disciple and had been Kushina's escort during her pregnancy. So, he'd known Naruto's name long before the child was born.

However, he didn't disclose this information or show any special emotions. Instead, he said in a matter-of-fact tone, "The Hokage asked me to wait for you here and told me to inform you not to roam around these next few days. There's a major event happening in the village. I'm also assigned to be your security during this time."

Naruto inquired, "A major event? What kind of event?"

He was initially surprised, but relief washed over him. This didn't seem to be about exposing his secrets or Hokages suspicions.

Kakashi replied, "The war is finally over. The mission from the Cloud Shinobi Village in the Thunder Country is to come to Konoha Village to sign an alliance agreement with us. Therefore, you won't be able to continue your training sessions outside these days."

Naruto understood that the Third Ninja World War, though technically over, had left lasting tension. It had been ongoing for several years, starting with Sasori's attack on Third Kazekage. Naruto, now three years old, had grown up during this war.

Cloud Shinobi Village was finally willing to sign an alliance agreement with Konoha Village, bringing the war to a close. Hatake Kakashi didn't explicitly mention it, but his intention was clear: Naruto's presence needed to be protected from any potential threats related to the Cloud Shinobi Village's mission.

Naruto realized the significance of this mission. His status as the Nine Tails Jinchūriki was a closely guarded secret. If the Cloud Shinobi Village found out, they might attempt to capture or even kill him. This could lead to a diplomatic crisis or an escalation of hostilities. Konoha Village, despite appearing strong, had faced significant losses, including the Fourth Hokage's death and the departure of the Sannin, making it imperative to preserve Naruto's safety.

The world of ninja, especially the new generation represented by Hatake Kakashi, was still maturing. Konoha Village was facing a complex period, notably since the Nine Tails Rebellion. The village had grown wary of the Uzumaki family, and this suspicion extended to the villagers themselves. A rift was forming, trust waning on both sides. This situation made it increasingly unlikely for Konoha Village to engage in war with the Cloud Shinobi Village.

As he considered these factors, Naruto realized that the Cloud Shinobi Village mission would coincide with the third birthday of Hinata, which was tomorrow. The leader of the Cloud Shinobi Village mission would use this opportunity to kidnap Hinata.

Naruto, with a furrowed brow, then switched to a more innocent expression and said, "Well, I understand. I'll head home and wait quietly until this matter is resolved."

Unbeknownst to Kakashi, Naruto had been thinking rapidly, and he didn't want Kakashi to discover the presence of ten Shadow Clones at home. Although Kakashi was Namikaze Minato's disciple and someone Naruto theoretically could trust, he had his reservations.

Kakashi had experienced numerous tragedies during his time in Anbu, including the deaths of Obito and Rin, as well as the loss of his sensei, Minato, and Kushina. Naruto couldn't be certain that someone with such a history would genuinely care for his well-being.

In the original story, Kakashi had the knowledge and skills to teach Rasengan, but he chose to instruct Sasuke in Chidori rather than Naruto. Jiraiya ended up becoming Naruto's mentor.

Naruto couldn't help but feel a twinge of frustration when he thought about the perverted hermit, Jiraiya, who had been assigned to teach him. Naruto couldn't understand why he was passed over in favor of Konohamaru's tutor, Ebisu. After all, he was Hokage's descendant, and the contrast in treatment with Konohamaru was glaring.

Nonetheless, Naruto decided not to let Kakashi accompany him home to protect his secret. He reassured Kakashi, saying, "Don't worry, I'll head straight home and won't leave for a few days. I can continue my training at home, hehehe." He wore a sly smile to emphasize his sincerity.

Kakashi regarded Naruto carefully, pondering his request. Finally, he nodded and conceded, "Alright then."

In truth, Kakashi had wanted to observe Naruto's life and see if he could offer any help. He was aware of Naruto's existence and had wanted to meet him. However, Hokage had issued specific orders to maintain the secrecy surrounding Naruto's identity and life history, making it difficult for Kakashi to act on his instincts.
