Time and Space: Second Hokage
[Time: 17 year of konoha's calendar ]
[Unification Progress: 18%]
Hashirama felt a sudden lurch as his body swayed. In an instant, he vanished from the Hokage's office, only to materialize in the midst of a dense forest. He blinked, disoriented by the sudden change in scenery.
"Flying Thunder God?"
Hashirama thought as he frowned a little frowned, shaking his head. "No, it must be a more powerful time-space ninjutsu than that! The Flying Thunder God Technique can't just teleport someone out of thin air like this."
His gaze shifted around, trying to discern the source of the jutsu. "Could it be the power of this gentleman's [Reincarnation Eye]?"
Hashirama considered the possibility of Genjutsu but dismissed it with a huff.
"I'm confident in my ability to distinguish Genjutsu. Madara's Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan never made me falter, so if this was indeed a Genjutsu, it would have to be several times stronger than his."
He straightened his posture, determination etched into his features. "If that's the case, then I'll have to acknowledge it, This gentlemen is far stronger than me"
A voice, calm and steady, echoed through the forest, breaking his concentration. "Is this where we are?"
Hashirama turned towards the source of the voice, which belonged to a figure standing with an air of authority. The figure continued, "We're in the world 17 years into the future, within the [Land of Thunder]."
"The [Hidden cloud Village"] mentioned—Hashirama inquired, trying to piece together the situation.
Ryujin nodded before saying, "Yes, it is the ninja village subsequently established by the [Land of Thunder]."
Hashirama's eyes widened in shock. The revelation that he had been transported to the future, 17 years ahead, stunned him.
"Could this gentleman truly be a deity on par with the [Sage of Six Paths]?" Hashirama thought in his mind.
Despite the shock, Hashirama drew on his composure. As the [God of Shinobi], he quickly calmed his racing thoughts. He reminded himself of his primary goal—to uncover the fate of Tobirama.
He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath to center himself.
Hashirama's senses honed in on Tobirama's Chakra aura from a distance. Without hesitation, driven by his eagerness to reach his brother, he sprang into action.
His body moved with fluid grace as he dodged obstacles and leaped swiftly through the forest.
Ryujin, observing from a distance, shook his head with a bemused smile. "These brocon types are really something else. Once they hear someone they care about is in danger, it's like the whole world is at stake!"
Realizing he couldn't match Hashirama's speed, Ryujinactivated his [World Teleport] once again. In an instant, he appeared hundreds of meters away.
As Hashirama landed softly on a dense tree branch, Ryujin materialized beside him, gesturing for him to stay hidden. Hashirama nodded and crouched low, his eyes scanning the scene below.
In the clearing, 'Time and space·Second Hokage Senju Tobirama' was engaged in a strategic discussion with his elite guard team. Hashirama's gaze fixed on them as he observed the scene unfold.
"Is that really Tobirama?" Hashirama muttered to himself, eyes widening with concern. "He looks much older. His Chakra isn't what it used to be. Is he injured?"
His eyes darted to the two figures standing beside Tobirama. "And those two—are they hiruzen and Danzo? Is that also an Uchiha member? They all seem to have matured and developed their skills. Tobirama must have trained a strong group of disciples."
Hashirama recognized Sarutobi and the others immediately, his heart swelling with a mix of pride and relief. He felt a deep satisfaction seeing the growth and maturity of Sarutobi Hiruzen and his peers.
He turned to ryujin, curiosity evident in his voice. "Sir, who are the others with tobirama?"
He glanced around, trying to make sense of the situation. This was clearly a world many years into the future, and he was unfamiliar with the current circumstances.
Ryujin took a moment to explain, his tone informative yet measured. "It's the 17th year of Konoha, during the First Ninja War.
The Second Raikage, taking advantage of Hashirama's death, launched an attack on Konoha. However, he was repelled by the Second Hokage, Tobirama, and Konoha's troops."
Hashirama listened intently, his brow furrowing as he absorbed the information.
"Seeing that the situation was not in his favor, the Second Raikage prepared to negotiate peace.
However, the Jinjiao and Silverjiao brothers objected. Despite their protests, the Second Raikage proceeded with the peace talks. Unfortunately, Jinjiao and Silverjiao assassinated him during the conference."
Hashirama's eyes widened with shock. "And they severely injured Tobirama in the process?"
"Yes," Ryujin confirmed. "They continued to pursue Tobirama and his remaining guards. Severely injured, Tobirama chose to stay behind as bait to test the loyalty and capabilities of his subordinates.
Although Danzo considered volunteering, he hesitated and couldn't bring himself to speak up."
Ryujin continued, "At this crucial moment, Hiruzen stepped forward, willing to take the bait. Tobirama, recognizing Hiruzen's bravery, appointed him as the next Hokage. In the end, Tobirama died heroically, protecting Hiruzen and the others."
Hashirama watched the scene below with a heavy heart, a sigh escaping his lips. "Testing your subordinates in such dire circumstances… That's something I can see Tobirama doing."
He observed the scene with a mix of admiration and sorrow. "And he had already decided on Hiruzen as the next Hokage. This test was meant to solidify his position among the team."
He noticed Danzo's trembling hands and muttered, "Danzo's fear is evident. Though impulsive, he's still human, and death is a formidable foe. It's a natural instinct to fear it."
Hashirama reflected on the broader implications, his gaze distant. "Madara, Tobirama, and I aimed to shield future generations from such harsh choices on the battlefield."
His gaze softened as he looked at Hiruzen. "Hiruzen has truly grown into a brave ninja."
"I think he will definitely become an excellent Hokage!" Hashirama said, a note of conviction in his voice.
Ryujin, however, sneered inwardly. "Just wait until you see this 'excellent monkey' and his cadre of incompetent advisors. In twenty or thirty years, they will have brought disaster upon the entire Senju clan" He thought in his mind
He shook his head in mild disgust. You'll come to understand what 'excellence' really means.
Though Ryujin have to acknowledge, that Sarutobi, Danzo, and others of this era could indeed be called excellent.
Though Their merits cannot erase the sins they committed. And though their later actions may tarnish their legacy, their contributions at this moment are undeniable.
As the six members of Sarutobi's group departed, only Senju Tobirama remained in the clearing. He began to set up traps and prepare to act as bait, aiming to delay the pursuing forces of Jinjiao and Yinjiao.
Tobirama was in a dire state. His body was battered; most of his Chakra had been depleted, and his internal organs were displaced.
He maintained a facade of Hokage's dignity and resolve only through sheer fucking willpower, having just managed to uphold his image before Sarutobi and the others.
"It's my own fault and the Second Raikage's carelessness", Tobirama thought bitterly. He never anticipated that his own subordinates would betray him, turning the peace conference into a deadly trap.
The thought of his situation was grim. Even Six Paths Madara could be felled by Black Zetsu's treachery.
Despite the severe injuries and the role of bait, Tobirama's spirit remained unyielding. He was determined not to surrender easily. As the Second Hokage, his duty was to inflict as much damage as possible on Kumogakure's pursuing forces.
He resolved to take down at least one of the Golden Horns or Silver Horns to ensure Sarutobi and the others could return to Konoha safely.
"Hey, it would be great if Eldest Brother were still here," Tobirama muttered to himself as he continued setting up traps. His frustration was palpable as he glanced around at the chaotic scene.
These clowns don't even have the courage to start a proper war! he thought bitterly, shaking his head.
As Tobirama worked tirelessly, Hashirama watched from his perch, feeling a deep sense of sadness. It was hard for him to imagine his once-arrogant brother now reduced to such a lonely and vulnerable state.
Hashirama's gaze remained fixed on Tobirama's solitary figure. He whispered, "Are Kumogakure's Golden Horn and Silver Horn really that strong? I haven't heard of them before."
When Tobirama had struck down Izuna, it had been with ruthless efficiency, swift and decisive.
Ryujin's voice broke the silence with a matter-of-fact tone. "They wield Six Paths ninja tools and possess some Nine Tails Chakra"
"Their strength is comparable to that of ordinary Kage. Normally, your brother would have been able to defeat them…"
Hashirama's eyes widened with concern. "Then why is he struggling?"
"It was likely a sneak attack," Ryujin explained. "He was caught off guard and couldn't evade the attack."
Hashirama's face reflected understanding and frustration. "A sneak attack is indeed despicable," he conceded. After a moment's reflection, he added, "Tobirama has clearly lost his edge.
He shouldn't be allowed to delve into forbidden arts anymore. He needs to focus on training and improving his combat skills."
At that moment, the sound of approaching enemies cut through the tense atmosphere. "Swish, swish, swish—"
Jinjiao and Yinjiao led a battalion of elite Cloud Ninjas into the battlefield. Hashirama's heart raced with anxiety as he watched.
His keen senses allowed him to gauge the situation accurately. With Tobirama in his current weakened state, Hashirama knew there was a high probability that he wouldn't stand a chance against this formidable Kumo force.
Determined to save his brother, Hashirama realized he needed to act swiftly.
Hashirama's gaze darted between the approaching enemies and Tobirama's vulnerable form. He was torn. Can I intervene myself? He wondered. If I act rashly, will I inadvertently cause a disaster?
His eyes shifted to Ryujin, seeking guidance. The urgency in his gaze was unmistakable, as if he were looking for the approval of this seemingly immortal figure.
Ryujin's calm demeanor remained unshaken. "Don't worry, wait a little longer before taking action," he advised, his voice steady and reassuring.
He continued, "It's better for your proud brother to endure a bit more hardship. A living Tobirama is worth far more than a dead one"
"At least if he survives, it will preserve Konoha's overall integrity and make it easier for the Second Hokage's world to eventually unify the ninja world."
Ryujin's eyes held a glimmer of strategic intent. "Moreover, enduring this suffering may stoke Tobirama's anger even more. This could drive him to take decisive action and unify the ninja world as you intended."
Hashirama took in Ryujin's words, realizing the depth of the plan. This was not just about saving his brother but about ensuring a greater strategic advantage for the future.
He nodded, a resolute expression on his face. He understood that enduring a bit more could ultimately serve a greater purpose.
