Sage Mode Training!

Naruto packed his stuff and headed to Jiraiya and Fukusaku. After walking in an old green geezer toad was sitting next to Jiraiya, "So this is who I will be training? He seems to have some talent Jiraiya-boy." Jiraiya nodded, "Yes he does, you can now reverse summon him to Mount Myoboku." Fukusaku then reversed summoned him.

"This is Mount Myoboku, you will be training here so get used to it, first, do you know what sage mode is?" Naruto shook his head, "I have heard of it but I don't really know what it is." Fukusaku nodded, "AT least you know what it is unlike Jiraiya-boy did." Fukusaku then started explaining.

"I heard you were smart so I will explain this accordingly. Normal chakra users only have access to physical and spiritual energy, sage users have access to a third type of energy, this is known as natural energy. Now it may only be a third chakra component, but it makes a huge difference. For someone without natural energy it is almost impossible to know what it feels like to have it, it's almost like trying to imagine what a 6th sense would be, not easy to feel it if you don't possess it.

So obviously this adds another way of battle that most shinobi would have little to no understanding of, which in turn gives sage mode users a massive advantage in combat, this style of combat I am referring to is Senjutsu or also known as Sage jutsu. Senjutsu gives a person access to Senjutsu chakra or sage chakra. Sage chakra does two major things, it powers up existing techniques regardless if they are ninjutsu, taijutsu, or even genjutsu.

The second thing it does is it allows the sage user access to all new sage techniques or sage arts that they create, but before I go into that let me tell you how it amps existing techniques. At its core sage mode is an extreme upgrade in power, it makes everything you do significantly better, it will allow you to take on opponents you never could have before.

Not only are all the types of jutsu better, but all your physical abilities are more powerful as well, while this would already be impressive sage mode also enhances your senses, you would have better senses than even the best sensors alive, for example, you could be completely blind and still react to faster attacks than you could regularly without sage mode. Even if you don't think these senses are important I assure you they are, being able to sense without seeing basically makes it to where you have no 'blindside' or 'weak spot' to attack.

Now on to sage arts, these techniques vary from wherever you learn sage mode from but they all use natural energy in one way or another. People who learn sage mode from Mount Myoboku, like you and Jiraiya-boy, learn Frog Kumite. Frog Kumite basically turns natural energy into an aura surrounding the body, this can be used for various reasons and nobody can see it, not even people with the Sharingan unless they have sage mode as well.

With this aura it is possible to amplify the force and range of physical attacks which can be used against anyone. Now the reason why almost nobody learns sage mode is the difficulty, it isn't the ability itself that is hard to learn, one of the main problems with sage mode is nobody can find a teacher, so you are lucky Naruto-boy. But even if you can find a teacher, learning senjutsu is not easy at all.

For example, Jiraiya-boy has had tons of training and time but still hasn't fully mastered it. Even with the difficulty, the idea behind sage mode is very simple, all you have to do is be still, being completely still without moving a single fragment of your being, is a lot more difficult than it sounds, believe me.

Sitting completely still opens a person's ability to intake natural energy and as I said earlier, natural energy is what powers sage mode. Another difficulty is that you must balance the natural chakra perfectly, if you don't take enough in then it simply won't have any effect and be useless, but if you take in too much you will turn into a stone frog. But even with all this, if you learn it you will become much stronger, so are you ready, Naruto-boy?"

Naruto had to take in all the information he just received, when he first got here he thought he might hang out with Gamahiro and Gamabushi a little, but with as hard as this sounded it seems he wouldn't get the chance. "Yes, I am ready!" Fukusaku nodded, "Good."

"Go sit over there," said Fukusaku, it was a pond area with a waterfall in the back, there was also a toad in the middle. Naruto then sat down, Fukusaku then put some oil on Naruto. "This is a special oil of Mount Myoboku, it helps attract natural energy. Once the oil was put on some toad appearances popped up, "Is this normal?" Fukusaku nodded, "Yes it is, for the first time."

"If too many appear I will wack you to stop it." Naruto nodded then sat still, at the beginning he was getting slapped almost every second but as time went on it was less and less, but it was still an inhuman amount of slapping. "We're not playing a game of whack-a-mole! This is training!" "I know!" Naruto was getting frustrated, he was making no progress over hours!

"This training is not for everyone, I can send you back to Jiraiya-boy if you want!" the dumb toad continued to talk smack while whacking him over and over again. "Fuck it!" Naruto then jumped into the whole pond and started training. "You fool, you'll die!" Naruto smirked, "I've always found you learn fastest in a life or death situation."

Fukasaku didn't argue but was very on guard just in case Naruto changed into a frog. The hitting increased even more but he was getting used to the natural energy much faster than earlier. He trained for days and days until he finally got the first amount into his body. Naruto was excited but did his best not to move and screw it up.

One of Naruto's eyes turned orange, he smirked and continued going. He still went on for days and was only making little progress but he knew he couldn't rush. Fukasuku who was observing was also happy, 'it seems he is starting to get it.' "I want you to lift that stone statue up only using sage mode."

Naruto looked at it, it seemed heavy but he could do it. Naruto ate some ramen then went at it. Naruto sat down and absorbed some sage chakra, after absorbing some he opened his eyes, he had made some progress, there were still lots of frog features but he absorbed much more sage chakra and had two orange eyes.

"Now try and lift it." Naruto walked over to the statue, he put all of his strength and sage jutsu into it, it took him a little bit but he was able to lift it off the ground, "there we go!" shouted Naruto slamming the statue back down. "Good job Naruto, back to training, I want you to learn this fast so we can increase the speed!" Naruto nodded and got back to work.
