Chapter 15: Assigning Teachers

Jiraiya, with his unwashed travel dust, looked helpless. As soon as he returned to Konoha Village, he was summoned by his mentor and was immediately assigned to lead a team of recently graduated ninjas. After firmly refusing, he was left speechless by the response.

Having stayed outside the village for the past three years to take care of Nagato and the others, Jiraiya found that this was a period when the village was in urgent need of manpower. Pulling his gaze away from Ye Zi, Jiraiya curiously asked, "Why did you agree to this?"

Orochimaru understood what Jiraiya was asking and coldly replied, "I don't need to answer you."

With that, Orochimaru stepped out, and Jiraiya instinctively moved aside to let him pass, with the three students following closely behind.

Jiraiya stood in the corridor, stroking his chin and watching Orochimaru's back, deep in thought.

"Um… Are you Jiraiya-sama?" A crisp, timid voice suddenly interrupted Jiraiya's thoughts.

Looking towards the voice, he saw a shy girl.

"Yes." Jiraiya nodded, not making a fuss about his title. These days, he was far from the flirtatious person he would become later.

Upon hearing Jiraiya's answer, the three students showed expressions of joy.

They had envied Ye Zi's team for having Orochimaru as their leader, but now they were thrilled to have Jiraiya as theirs.

Minato looked at Jiraiya with admiration in his eyes.
