Chapter 2: Friends

(Kazuha: POV)

Sitting seiza I focused on the task in front of me.

Using the brush in my grasp to draw the symbols I had been assigned to by my grandma Mito. Who is sitting right beside me.

The reason I am doing this is because I asked Mito to teach me Fuinjustu and she agreed.

When I finished drawing all the symbols I stopped and placed the brush down on the table.

After I did so Mito began reviewing my work.

"It's good Kazuha." She said, giving me a smile.

"Thank you grandma." I said.

"Alright, let's move on."

"Yes." I said.

Mito then gave me a new set of symbols to draw and I went to work on doing so.

Since to be able to use Fuinjustu one must not only have a good understanding of the art itself but also have good handwriting since one mis-step when drawing a seal can completely change its purpose and function.

But on the other side, the versatility of seals is what makes them so dangerous, and why Fuinjustu masters are feared across the world far and wide.

It's the reason why Uzushiogakure and the Uzumaki clan are considered on par with the five great villages.

That's probably also why Uzushiogakure will be destroyed within the next decade or so, for fear of their Fuinjustu and the fact people covet it for themselves.

I am under no delusions I will be able to stop the destruction of Uzu, but what I might be able to do is keep the Uzumaki clan alive in a sense.

Though that's for the future.

I finished drawing the new set of symbols Mito gave me, and then just like before she reviewed them. Looking for any mistakes.

Since Mito herself is a recognized Fuinjustu master.

Yeah, she's not just a pretty face. Nor is she the wife of Hashirama and the first jinchuriki of Kurama for nothing. Her body may be getting up their in years and slowing down, but her mind is still as sharp as ever.

She even told me a little while ago she taught my grandfather Tobirama a thing or two about seals.

All around Mito is a complete badass.

Who I am happy to call grandmother.

Mito placed down the paper on the table after she finished reviewing it. "I noted a few mistakes Kazuha." She said.

Mito then explained them to me and I noted every word she said.

Once I did so we started a summary of the days lesson and then we were finished.

The moment we were I said goodbye to Mito and headed out of the house.

Running through the streets of Konoha I marveled at it like always.

Even after living in this world for the past couple of years I still can't get over the majesty of this place. The anime and manga didn't do it justice in the slightest.

Tall and strong trees as far as the eye can see.

As all as the iconic Hokage Rock large and proud in the back of the village, the faces of its leaders looking down and watching over us. Currently there are three.

My granduncle Hashirama, my grandfather Tobirama, and the current Hokage the old monkey Sarutobi Hiruzen. Though right now Hiruzen is still a young monkey.

I've met him several times.

He is the teacher of Tsunade, and an old friend of my grandmother. Not to mention my grandfather was his teacher. So for us not to meet would've been strange.

I will say he's not a bad man, but considering what I know happens in the future I still hold some reservations toward him.

Moving on.

In no time at all I reached my destination.

A local park.

When I did so I saw two people waiting for me.

Both of them are my age and both male.

The first is a member of the Hatake clan.

His name is Shirou Hatake.

The second is a member of the Hyuga clan.

His name is Fujio Hyuga.

They are my best friends.

I walked over to the two of them, a smile on my face. "Hey guys, what's up?" I asked.

"Oh nothing, just waiting for you." Shirou said.

"Yeah, what took you so long?" Fujio asked.

"I was finishing up my lesson in Fuinjustu today with my grandmother." I explained.

"Fuinjustu, tree walking, taijustu practice. Kazuha, aren't you a bit young to be a training maniac?" Shirou asked me, giving me a smirk as he did so.

"I don't see an issue if I enjoy what I am doing." I retorted. A smile on my own face as I did so.

Besides, Shirou has no idea what's coming and I do. That's why I'm working as hard as I can to be able to weather the coming shit storms.

"I know, but why are you rushing? We're going to start the academy next year." Shirou said.

"Sure, but the academy can't teach you everything in the time you are there. And like I said, it's not an issue since I enjoy what I do. Like seriously you guys, Fuinjustu is actually quite amazing." I said.

"Stop! Stop!" Fujio suddenly shouted. "We don't need to hear another one of your lectures on how amazing Fuinjustu is. So please just stop."

Shirou nodded his head in agreement.

"Fine." I said.

Once I did so the three of us just decided to have some fun and play around.

When I awakened my previous life memories I honestly didn't think I would get along with any of the kids my age. But I was wrong.

Turns out the kids in the world of Naruto are much more mature than they are back in my old world. I think it might have something to do with chakra but I can't be sure.

Regardless, I am happy I can have some friends to hang around with.

Since it's the little things that truly make life worth living.

A/N: I hope you like my two original OC characters.

I will be doing a few of these throughout the story, and they will be important to it. So look out for them.
