Chapter 7

He even showed traits shown by a child that lost their entire family by exhibiting anti-social behaviour which also worked for the benefit of his current self anyway. The only people he really knew and talked to was Shikamaru, Choji and Ino who stuck around despite his subtle hints of wanting to be alone. Especially Ino. She was truly one annoying girl who always found the time to bother him in his moments of solitude which would draw the attention of Shikamaru and Choji making his peaceful alone time vanish entirely.

Eventually he had gotten used to her bothering him though thankfully she only spent a little time bothering him whereas the rest of her time was spent bothering Sasuke whom Yuu couldn't help but sorry for as he was constantly bothered by the constant buzzing of lovestruck girls.

Anyway now that two months had passed, Yuu was sure that whoever was surveilling him must have stopped as despite Konoha being a powerful village due to current events such as the Uchiha massacre, Orochimaru defection, the death of the fourth Hokage and Kushina Uzumaki, the defection of Itachi Uchiha amongst other things, the village currently had upto its entire neck dipped in shit and hence didn't have the capability to waste a now precious Chunin on monitoring a civilian child. However, despite that Yuu had taken precautions by spending the last two months in constant character even when in his own home and since so far he hadn't been kidnapped by Anbu or Root members, it could be assumed that his acting plan had succeeded.

Now it was time to begin the first step of his plan.

Yuu now stood in front of the home for the elderly located towards the edge of Konoha village. In order to become even stronger within a short period of time, Yuu had decided to first start with the home of the elderly. Yuu moved towards the reception area where a middle-aged woman dressed in a nurse's uniform was seen seated while filling and signing various documents.

The woman, being a Genin level medical shinobi, also quickly sensed Yuu's presence causing her to stop her current work and beckon him.

"Hello little boy, what brings you here?" she asked with a warm smile.

"Hello miss, I am here to volunteer in assisting the elderly" he said too with a warm smile on his face although his eyebrow couldn't help twitching at the fact that he had been called a little boy despite being a mature soul in a young body.

"Oh well isn't that sweet of you. Our caretaker home is always looking for extra hands so your offer to help is greatly welcomed."

"Hold in I'll get someone to show you around and explain what you can do here." She said as she pressed a button on her desk. Shortly after a young female nurse arrived at the location, judging by her chakra levels, she was merely a common civilian. Every creature in the world possessed chakra however the chakra level possessed by civilians was among the lowest levels possible. It was such a pitiful amount that even 30 civilians wouldn't stand a chance against a normal genin.

"Hello, my name is Ogura Kyo, I am one of the nurses working in this caretaker home." Said the beautiful young woman who looked be around 20 years old.

"Hello, my name is Yuu Sakamoto" said Yuu introducing himself while giving the woman a short polite bow.

"Yuu here has volunteered to work in our humble caretaker home so why don't you show him around, get him familiar with the place and what he needs to do"

"Of course, madam Kame" said Ogura as she performed a quick bow after which she led Yuu deeper into the large home for the elderly. All around Yuu was shown the various facilities such as the shogi room where the old could go to play games, the meeting room for official occasions and announcements, the washrooms e.t.c.

"The purpose of our home is to give the ordinary old shinobi who don't have any families left and can no longer participate in active service a place for them to rest and spend their remaining days in peace. There are of course some old shinobi whose contributions to the village were far too great to be put in the same elderly home as the common old shinobi and hence they are provided with their own private land and housing as well as a few other benefits such as a personal caretaker who takes care of their every need such as cleaning their washrooms and doing their weekly shopping. It's the least Konoha can do for such great shinobi" said nurse Ogura to which Yuu nodded in agreement as they finished their tour.

There was no denying that Konoha treated its old shinobi quite well as especially those who had made many major contributions however whether a ninja could live long enough to enjoy such benefits was questionable. Even now as he looked through the home for the elderly, he noticed very few old shinobi people which was why the home took care of not only the old shinobi but also the old civilians otherwise the home would be quite deserted.

"And that's it for the tour. If there is anything else you would like to know, please contact me through the front desk buzzer or ask any of the nurses working here. We will be more than happy to assist you." Said Ogura

"Understood. Thank you for all your guidance miss Ogura" said Yuu as he bowed politely once more. Ogura merely waved her hand in embarrassment "No need to be thank me and there is no need to be so formal with me. You can simply call me sister Ogura." She said patting his head.

"Very well…. Sister Ogura" said Yuu with a cheerful smile which caused Ogura to become slightly flustered.

'So cute' she thought as she looked at Yuu.

"Alright then I'll see you here tomorrow evening" she said after which she left to go back to work after ensuring that Yuu had been properly sent off.

Back at his home Yuu couldn't help but ponder over the events that occurred today. He had accomplished everything he had set out to do which meant his plan could proceed as expected. That night Yuu slept with a malicious smile on his face looking forward to the future.

It was midnight in Konoha. The entire village was shrouded in darkness save for the little bit of light they got from the stars. Tonight, was the night of a new moon and hence it was harder to see than usual. On this night Yuu could be seen getting ready equipping shinobi combat armour and weapons over which he wore a dark cloak to conceal them. It had been 2 and a half months since he began to work as a volunteer at Konoha's elder home. He had spent the entire time familiarizing himself with the layout of the building, where the people inside lived as well as any routes out of the home. He also spent the time practising his combat skills i.e his taijutsu and kunai skills in an area he had discovered in the forest behind the place he was staying. It was a place less frequented by people as most people traveling would use the main gates or if they were conducting secret missions, they would use the route of the Forest of Death instead hence he was able to practise comfortably in this area without any worry of being spied on.
