Chapter 5

The next morning after having a small breakfast, taking a shower and wearing a plain black shirt and black shorts, Yuu departed his home heading towards the ninja academy. On the way he saw various children around his age dressed in a mix of plain clothes and shinobi attire who were also heading to school.

"Hey Yuu!" Yuu heard a loud call sounding from behind him as he walked to the academy. He turned only to see Ino walking alongside two other ninja children. One of whom was extremely plump with long spiky brown hair and circling red marks on his cheeks while the other was a kid with shirt spiky black hair and a face that currently looked like he'd rather be in bed than awake. Yuu recognized these two immediately.

"Hello Ino" replied Yuu with a small smile as the trio caught up to him.

"Hi, you heading to the academy as well?" asked Ino

"Yes" said Yuu after which he glanced at the two boys beside Ino.

"Who might these people be Ino?"

"Oh right" said Ino as she hit her forehead in embarrassment "I forgot to introduce you to these two. The lazy one on my right is Shikamaru Nara and the other one currently eating a bag of chips is Choji Akimichi."

"Pleasure to me you.." said Shikamaru with a nod.

"Hmmm….." grumbled Choji as he stuffed his mouth with snacks and nodded at the same time causing the other two to sigh at Choji's antics.

"Likewise" said Yuu after which they all continued on their way to the academy. During their walk to the academy Shikamaru and Choji asked Yuu various questions such as which clan he was from, where he lived among other things. Soon however the conversation downed down to an awkward silence when Yuu revealed his tragic past and the fate of his family. The awkwardness thankfully didn't last long as soon they arrived at the academy gates.

The academy itself was made up of a few large different buildings joined together to form one large building. Outside the building was a large training ground built to accommodate the training of ninjutsu, taijutsu as well as aiming techniques like shurikenjutsu among other things.

Having been assigned to the same class as Ino all Yuu needed to do was follow Ino. Soon he arrived in front of the door to his classroom. When he entered, he was met by the sight of rowdy children who were currently loudly talking amongst themselves in self formed groups. On the middle row of the class was a large group of girls who were surrounding a young boy with a stone-cold face, his hair short, black and spiky while his eyes were completely black as well. However, what stood out about him was the symbol etched on his front and backside of his shirt. A symbol he remembered from Ino's little tour. The symbol of the Uchiha.

'He must be Sasuke' thought Yuu as he walked and sat towards the back of the class where he could see outside the window at the training grounds below. As he passed Sasuke on the way to his seat, his eyes and Sasuke's met for a brief moment before he turned his gaze elsewhere probably having affirmed that Yuu was not worth noting of to which Yuu simply smiled in his thoughts. Shikamaru and Choji sat on the row before his while Ino rushed towards the group fangirling around Sasuke probably wanting to yell at a pink haired girl whom Yuu had recognized as Sakura Haruno.

Soon the door of the classroom opened, and a shinobi dressed in full gear walked into the room at which the entire class immediately quietened down.

"Good morning, everyone" said the shinobi

"Good morning" replied the students.

"Today we are going to continue learning about battle tactics after which we will have a Taijutsu sparing session later on but before we begin, I wanted to furst introduce a new student to you all." The shinobi then looked at Yuu and beckoned him to stand up to which Yuu complied.

"Why don't you introduce yourself, tell us what you like and what your dream is." Said the shinobi.

Yuu thought about it for a few seconds before he replied in an earnest voice.

"Hello, my name Is Yuu Sakamoto. I like ramen and my dream is to become a shinobi capable of repaying the Hidden Leaf for all their assistance. "

His acting must have worked as the shinobi teacher seemed to be really inspired causing him to class his hands in applause to which the rest of the students joined in. There were however some students who didn't participate like Sasuke, Shino and Shikamaru who simply glanced at him each with their own hidden thoughts on the matter.

After that the class's lesson began. Unfortunately for Yuu however he couldn't understand anything that was being taught as all the content of the day's lesson required one to have studied one or two books which had been taught during the first year of the academy. Yuu, due to his age, had been forced to join Sasuke's class which was currently in the middle of their second year hence he was very far behind content-wise.

Yuu however wasn't worried as he currently had Peak Genin level power due to killing the Kumo ninja which already put him at the top of his current class in combat capability. Also, the memories of the Kumo ninja also contained what the ninja had been taught in the Kumogakure ninja academy and despite being a school in a different village, the knowledge taught was essentially the same. All Yuu needed to do was finish digesting all the memories he had acquired in his head, and he would be even more knowledgeable than every student in his class.

Yuu spent the entire time pretending to focus on the lesson being taught when in actuality he was focused on completely absorbing the memories of the Kumo ninja and making them his own. His power automatically absorbed everything from his slain enemies however the speed of absorption and implementation depended on a variety of factors but one of the greatest ones was difference in power levels. For example, when he had killed the Kumo ninja he had passed out for two days during which his power automatically taken over and had spent the entire time adding the chakra capacity of the Kumo ninja to his own. He had then spent the entirety of the last one and a half days upgrading his physique to that of the Kumo ninja's level hence at this moment he only absorbed the chakra capacity and the physique of the Kumo ninja and nothing else. Hence this time he decided to focus on absorbing the ninja's memories next after which he would let the power return to its automatic absorbing process.
