Chapter 31

With a boost of chakra to his system he quickly rushed towards the Takkaki shinobi instantly closing in on him, his sword just a few centimetres from his opponent's neck. Just as the masked shinobi was about to decapitate his opponent, his instincts rang out indicating immense danger. He tried raising his sword in the direction in which he sensed immense danger, trying to block whatever attack was coming, however he was too slow. The masked shinobi suddenly found that his world view had turned upside down. It was only after seeing his headless body that he determined that he had been beheaded causing his last thought to be one of shock and fear.

All of this had occurred in mere seconds.

The strange death of the masked shinobi caused the present shinobi to pause, am incredulous look on their faces as they watched the body of the dead shinobi collapse on the ground with a thud releasing a steady stream of blood. Just as they were about to search around for any concealed shinobi, another head flew into the air before crashing and rolling on the ground. The head belonged to another masked shinobi causing the number of masked shinobi to decrease to 4.

At this point the present shinobi knew that the hidden mysterious shinobi in the dark seemed to have some sort of vendetta with the masked shinobi. This caused the originally somber Takkaki shinobi to feel more at ease.

"Excuse me hidden shinobi, are you willing to work with us to deal with these intruders" asked one of the Takkaki ninja in a hopeful tone.

For two seconds there was absolute silence as both sides awaited the response of the hidden shinobi. Finally they heard a voice that seemed to come from all directions "Stall the masked intruders, I'll take care of the rest"

This caused the Takkaki shinobi to beam with happiness while the mood of the masked shinobi turned even more somber. They immediately tried to retreat however they were suddenly attacked by the Takkaki ninja who currently possessed double their numbers, causing them to stop their retreat and focus on their enemies.

The masked shinobi while fighting against their adversaries were also keeping an eye out, using both their chakra and senses to observe their surroundings for any sign of their hidden enemy. This, however, was of no use as soon another masked man was suddenly cut in half from the waist down. In the next minute another masked shinobi had her arms chopped off causing her to cry out in pain only to be silenced by a slash across her throat.

The female masked shinobi collapsed on the ground her heart soon stopping due to excessive blood loss. Now only one masked shinobi was left however before Yuu could get to him, the nine Takkaki ninja managed to corner and kill him using multiple jutsus.

"Thank you hidden benefactor. Could we please know your name in order to thank you?" asked the same Takkaki ninja who had spoken earlier, only to be met with silence as Yuu had already moved on advancing further into the compound.

Occasionally he would encounter a stray Takkaki shinobi or civilian running around whom he would just avoid. Eventually he came across another battle. Well, it couldn't be considered a battle rather more of a massacre. Yuu saw four masked shinobi. Two female and two male masked shinobi running through the scared nobles, each movement resulting in the loss of a life or creating an injury severe enough to kill them in seconds. It was truly a gruesome and terrifying sight to see. While the masked shinobi were distracted by their rampage, Yuu silently snuck up on them, his genjutsu rendering him invisible, his chakra increasing his movement speed beyond what even a high level jonin would be capable of reacting to and his short sword coated in Lightning chakra increasing its cutting power.

As he monitored their movements, he made rapid calculations before finally at the right moment he sprang into action zipping past the four masked shinobi and arriving at the other end of the corridor and continuing onwards. The present remaining nobles were first surprised to see the four masked shinobi stop, then they were shocked when the four masked shinobis' bodies suddenly split into two right down the middle before collapsing into a pool of blood on the floor. The scene was so frightening that many of those present screamed before violently emptying their bowels of any food and bile juice.

Eventually Yuu arrived at the center of the residence where a large building stood with the sign 'Takkaki residence'.

Even from outside he could hear sounds of battle coming from within the building. Just as he was about to head towards the building a section of wooden wall on the left side of the building exploded and out of the hole came a powerful burst of water that went on to smash into the ground creating a large crater half a meter deep and 6 meters wide.

'Looks like a tough battle is going on in there' thought Yuu as he leapt upwards and forward, entering the newly-made hole in the wall.

Inside he saw 10 shinobi in masks attacking 7 Takkaki shinobi however judging by the way the Takkaki shinobi were holding their own against these powerful high level jonin, it could be seen that these Takkaki shinobi were quite powerful as well.

At a corner near one of the damaged rooms on the same floor stood a masked shinobi who judging by his aura was an elite level jonin. Yuu, still in disguise, thought about sneak attacking the elite masked jonin however he ultimately decided against it as he had noticed that the high level jonin he had encountered so far had been able to, despite him being invisible, instinctively detect the danger of his attacks and if it wasn't for the fact that they reacted too late, they would have been able to save themselves from death by his hands. Yuu had no doubt that the elite jonin before him was much faster and stronger than a high level jonin. After all elite jonin could easily take on multiple high level jonin and still win.

Therefore, Yuu decided first to increase his power level before tackling such a strong opponent. Yuu snuck out of the hole in the wall and quickly ran towards the inside of one of the nearby buildings that was still functional. There he performed an earth release jutsu which allowed him to submerge into the ground. He sank until he was a full 15 meters deep underground at which point, he stopped and focused on creating a large enough space using more earth release jutsus. Soon he was in a rectangular area of 5 cubic meters all round sort of like an underground tiny room. For the final touches he quickly created small tunnels connecting to the surface in order to allow proper circulation of air into and out if his underground room.
