Chapter 97 : Tricking Obito??

"Do you even hear what you're saying?"

"The Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju?"

"I don't know how many years he's been dead."

"And now you're telling me you saw him in Konoha? Do you really think I'll believe that?"

Obito became a bit agitated when he heard Black Zetsu's news.

He knew there were forbidden ninjutsu in the ninja world that could bring the dead back to life.

One of them is the Rinnegan's Gedo Art of Rinne Rebirth, which can perfectly resurrect someone.

Madara's original plan was to have the Rinnegan's host revive him using that technique.

But Obito had his own thoughts. He didn't want to bring Madara back that easily.

Besides the Gedo Art of Rinne Rebirth, there's also the Impure World Reincarnation, which can bring the dead back.

However, that resurrection isn't real.

They don't have a sense of smell, a sense of taste, and barely any sense of touch. Plus, people brought back by the Impure World Reincarnation are controlled by the caster.

So, instead of calling it a resurrection technique, it's more like a summoning technique for the undead.

These are the two techniques Obito knows that can bring back the dead.

But Black Zetsu said it had seen Tobirama Senju in Konoha. Could that mean Konoha has a real resurrection technique? Not something like the Impure World Reincarnation?

If it's really as Obito thinks, then Konoha could seriously mess up his plans.

This time, Tobirama Senju was brought back. So, who's next? Hashirama Senju?

Without Uchiha Madara, who could stand against Hashirama Senju?

Obito shook his head.

He didn't believe Nagato, who couldn't even use the Rinnegan's full power, could stand up to the God of Shinobi.

"Zetsu, come with me to Konoha. I want to see what's really going on."

Obito would never allow anyone to disrupt his plans, even if it meant dealing with Konoha, the village where he was born and raised.

For his goals, hadn't he already killed his own teacher, his teacher's wife, and his family? 

So, what was the big deal about starting another riot in Konoha?

As long as Black Zetsu's information was accurate, Obito didn't mind controlling Uzumaki Naruto and starting another Nine-Tails Rebellion.

While on the way to Konoha, Obito muttered to himself: 

"Don't worry, your sacrifice won't be in vain. As long as my plan succeeds, everyone will have a bright future."

Obito and Black Zetsu were moving at full speed, covering a great distance. 

It only took them one day and one night to get from the Hidden Rain Village to Konoha.

Even at this speed, Obito, despite having Hashirama's cells implanted in him, had to slow down a little.

"Zetsu, take me to the place where you saw Tobirama Senju."

Once Obito recovered a bit, he was eager to see the Second Hokage.

"Alright, follow me."

The place where Black Zetsu had seen the Second Hokage was near the Hokage building.

Black Zetsu didn't dare to enter the Hokage's office, so it could only linger around the building.

That's when it happened to spot Tobirama Senju walking towards the Hokage building, talking with Jiraiya, the Fifth Hokage.

When Black Zetsu saw Senju Tobirama, its face was filled with confusion.

It knew for sure that the Second Hokage was dead, right? 

So why was he appearing in Konoha now?

Judging by his appearance, he didn't seem to be resurrected by Impure World Reincarnation.

This left Black Zetsu deeply puzzled.

It really wanted to find out if there was some secret behind this.

However, unable to enter the Hokage's office, it had hurried back to the Hidden Rain Village to inform Obito.

"Did you see the Second Hokage inside the Hokage building?"

"Yes, he entered the Hokage's office. I didn't want to risk being discovered by them, so I came straight to you."

"With your abilities, even if you had entered the office, they wouldn't have noticed, right?"

Obito was well aware of Black Zetsu's capabilities, so he was curious as to why Black Zetsu hadn't sneaked into the office to see what was going on.

What can Black Zetsu do? 

It was feeling desperate.

Every time it thought about entering the Hokage's office, a strong sense of danger would wash over it, as if disaster would strike the moment it stepped inside. 

Black Zetsu wasn't willing to gamble with its life—not until it rescued its mother. 

"After all, the person we're dealing with is the Second Hokage. If he can sense me, I'd be exposed, wouldn't I?" 

Black Zetsu didn't want Obito to know it was afraid of that office.

So, it used the Second Hokage as an excuse.

Luckily, Obito wasn't familiar with the full extent of the Second Hokage's abilities, so he had no argument against Black Zetsu's reasoning.

"You're right. The opponent *is* the Second Hokage. If you're exposed, that would be bad for us," Obito said, after thinking it over. 

He continued, "How about this? I'll stay here, and you check somewhere else. Let me know if you find anything."

Hearing that it didn't have to enter the Hokage's office, Black Zetsu sighed in relief and quickly agreed to Obito's plan.

Time passed slowly.

After three days, Obito was starting to get very frustrated.

He and Black Zetsu had almost turned Konoha upside down, yet they still hadn't found the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama.

"Zetsu, do you have a problem with me?" 

In a secluded grove in Konoha, Obito glared at Black Zetsu with clear dissatisfaction.

"No, I've always been very satisfied with you."

"If that's true, then why are you messing with me?"

"What are you trying to do? Explain yourself clearly."

Obito took a deep breath, pointed outside the woods, and said, "You were the one who said that the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama, had reappeared in Konoha. So I rushed here with you to investigate. Do you admit that?"

"I admit it."

"Alright, after three days of investigation, can you tell me where Tobirama Senju is?"

"Uh..."

Black Zetsu was also confused at this point.

It had clearly seen Senju Tobirama chatting and laughing with Jiraiya, so how could he have disappeared in the blink of an eye?

Could it have been an illusion at that time?

No, that's impossible.

As the product of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki's Yin-Yang Release, Black Zetsu was naturally immune to all ninjutsu and illusions.

Even Madara's Rinnegan couldn't trap it in an illusion, so how could Konoha?

Since it wasn't an illusion, where did Senju Tobirama go?

Seeing that Black Zetsu was silent, Obito didn't want to make things more awkward.

In his plan, Black Zetsu was a very useful tool. Ruining their relationship would hurt his future plans.

"Our time is precious. Let's investigate for another three days. If we still don't find anything, we'll return to the Hidden Rain Village."

Obito offered a way out, and Black Zetsu agreed.

"Are we really just going to ignore Konoha?"

"Just keep sending some White Zetsu to watch them."

"We've already lost two White Zetsu here in Konoha."

"Don't worry."

Obito waved his hand indifferently and said, "The two White Zetsu we lost last time possessed the Fifth Hokage and Orochimaru. This time, let's target some Jonin. I don't believe Konoha really has the technology to detect White Zetsu."

The Fifth Hokage, Jiraiya, had the highest level of security.

And as a ninja who returned after being a traitor, Orochimaru's security level wouldn't be low either.

Even if Konoha does have technology to detect White Zetsu, the first people they'd watch closely would be the village's top leaders, like Jiraiya and Orochimaru.

The jonin likely wouldn't be able to handle all of them because there are too many.

Additionally, jonin are qualified to attend the Konoha meetings, so choosing a jonin to possess is a very good strategy.

Three days later, Obito and Black Zetsu left Konoha and returned to the Hidden Cloud Village.

Then, they sent three White Zetsu to Konoha and had them possess the jonin.

These jonin were: Hatake Kakashi, Sarutobi Asuma, and Yuhi Kurenai.
