Myths & Legends, Lies & Nobodies

Mill Kabrok has always wanted to be an adventurer, so he was excited when he finally got the chance to see what type of bloodline he had. What he didn't expect was the machine telling him he had no bloodline. No ability would have been fine, a low blood purity would have been ok as well, but the idea that his bloodline is 100% unknown. That was strange. He even has an ability even though the machine couldn’t read that either, but he had one just no bloodline. This was shocking to everyone because there has never been anyone without a bloodline. After running out of the event Mill found an abandoned building to sleep in where he had a dream, no, a vision of his ancestor where he learned the truth. His ancestor told him about how his bloodline was one that was never recorded into the system even though he was a member of the very first hero’s party. The one that beat the Ancient Disaster Agralon. Everyone from Mill’s era takes this to mean that the hero killed Agralon, but according to Mill’s ancestor that wasn’t the case. Agralon was sealed, not killed, but why would they lie about that and why was Mill’s ancestor not recorded in history? Something wasn’t right with history and Mill needed to find out while also preparing for Agralon’s release, as Mill’s ancestor told him, Agralon could only be sealed for 1500 years, and it’s been 1494 so he only had six years to increase his strength and get answers. After waking up, Mill had a newfound mission. His dream of becoming an adventurer was now just a means to the end. He needed strength and allies to help him fight so he started his journey by entering an adventuring academy. Mill would gain more understanding of his own bloodline, the world that he grew up in, and the secret histories of the world that had become lost to time. He will gain friends, enemies, allies, and rivals that will greatly impact him for the rest of his life. Agralon is the ancient disaster so how would he beat him?

Chapter 19: Mill, The Freak

"Party, huh? You seem pretty happy for someone that will soon lose their life." Cren summons his two hands of darkness and tries to grab Mill, but he misses as Mill jumps into the air and starts to shoot pure lightning magic at the barrier. Cren smirks at Mill's attempt to break his barrier when he sees that there is a crack that had not been there before. "What in the-" Before he could finish reacting Mill came crashing down directly on the crack that he made and broke through the barrier like it was never there in the first place. "Gotcha!" Mill then delivered a quick series of cuts with his daggers and finished with a kick to the chest knocking Cren away.

"I'm not going down that easily you brat!" While retreating Cren places his two hands together and begins to cast a spell. Mill rushes forward just as the spell finishes and suddenly, "Mouth of Harrow!" A giant mouth made of darkness magic appears and goes to swallow Mill. Mill goes to try to dodge but is unable to move due to Cren darkness hands grabbing his legs and holding him in place. "Well, shit." The darkness mouth closes on Mill, and he disappears from sight. "Ha ha ha. That idiot really thought that he could take me alone. Now look at him, stuck inside of the stomach of Harrow with nothing that he can do." Cren proceeded to turn to Mill's friends with a smile. "Now, where were we?"

Bzzt. "Hhmm?" Cren turned around because heard a sound but didn't see anything that could make the sound since the only thing behind him was the Mouth of Harrow and it doesn't make sounds.

Bzzt. Bzzt bzzt bzzt! It was then that a light started to glow from the inside of the mouth of Harrow until Mill came bursting out straight towards a wall. He caught himself and charged straight at Cren tackling him to the ground and then used his lightning magic to try to do what he did to the half giant except this time to Cren. "GGRRAAAAHHH!!!" Cren screamed in pain but managed to kick Mill off of him before he completely charred. He thought that he was safe when he noticed a yellow ring around his leg that had a line that led towards Mill who was smiling.

"Gotcha again, boss man!" Mill pulled his arm back and used the lightning rope that he made to pull Cren toward him. "Oh, come ON!" Cren flew at Mill and was preparing to make a counterattack when made it to Mill but didn't expect for Mill to dash at him while he was in the air and stab his daggers into his chest. Cren spat up blood that splattered onto Mill face but Mill didn't even care and was still smiling the biggest smile that he had ever had. Mill, with his daggers still inside of Cren, swung outwards leaving two deep cuts on Cren's chest and then stompped him to the ground and rode on top of him for a bit.

Mill jumped off of Cren brought his lightning whip back out and around Cren's leg and swung his body over him into the ground behind him with the whip still attached. Mill did the same thing again and again while laughing like a madman. "I'm having a whole lot of fun boss man!" Mill lifted Cren's body off of the ground and started to spin it in the air until he let go and launched him into a wall. Cren was horribly beaten and didn't even have the strength to pull himself out of the wall before Mill was in his face with that big and horrifying smile that he hadn't dropped this entire fight.

"Are you done?" Mill said with disappointment clear in his voice. "I was just getting to the fun part boss man you can't be finished already!" Mill looked examined Cren and he really looked as though he could go no further than this. It was then that Mill noticed the necklace that was hanging on Cren's neck and focused on the gem that was on it. "Well, if you're done already then I guess you don't need this." Mill grabbed the necklace and ripped it off of Cren. Once he did, the light in Cren's eyes faded and he started to turn into ashes. "Oh, I guess this thing was what kept you alive. Weird." Mill turned around and saw his friends looking at him like he had just done something completely unbelievable.

"Mill, what's up with you?" Darren asked his old friend. "What do you mean?" Mill tilted his head to the side as he walked up to his friends and saw Karl start to point. "Y-your hair man. I-it's yellow and all fizzy and flowy now." Mill looked confused seeing as he could see himself at the current moment, he didn't know that at some point during the fight his hair changed color and started to move like it was alive and couldn't sit still.

"And what was up with that fight man?" Karl asked as he moved closer to Mill. "That wasn't a fight. That was a brutal beatdown with one person toying with the other." Lua said as she also approached Mill. "Oh, come on it wasn't that bad! I was just having so much fun that I completely lost myself in that fight. You would've done it too, come on." Now that the fighting had ended the rest of Mill's party watched as Mill's big smile finally started to go away and his hair return to its normal unmoving and light blue state.

"Well, the boss is dead so what do we do now?" It was at this moment that the entire area went dark, and Mill's friends disappeared from his sight. "Guys? Where did you go?" Suddenly, Mill felt as though he was laying on top of something and that there was something on his head. He reached up and pulled off the thing that was on his head and realized that he was laying on some sort of pod in a room with three more pods that he saw his party members laying in.

"Congratulations! You have finished the simulation dungeon and the test!" A familiar voice rang in Mill's head, and he recognized it as the girl from the start of the maze, Sue. "We will take the next few days to analyze the footage of you and your party's performance while in the simulation to determine if you are qualified to enter the academy. Please exit as soon as all party members are awake and have a nice day!" With that the voice transmission stopped and the rest of the party climbed out of the pods.

"I guess, we have to leave now?" Karl said as he stood up. Darren also got up and started to look around the room. "Man, are we the last ones out. All of the other pods are opened but no one's leaving." Everyone looked around and noticed that Darren was right. There were other pods in the room but all of them were open and empty. "They told us to leave when everyone in the party is awake so let's go." Lua said as she started to head towards the exit and the rest followed her.

"Since when was she the leader of the party?" Mill whispered in Darren and Karl's ears and they both turned to him and shrugged. "Just sort of happened I guess." The party then exited the building meaning the only people that were left were the instructors that had been watching their simulation the entire time.

"Who the hell is that kid? How did he do that to a C-rank dungeon boss?" The instructors all turned to look at Fina whose face had frozen from shock. "I-I don't know." Fina stood with next to Sue who had almost forgotten what she was supposed to be doing. "W-we have to analyze each member's performance in the simulation, but there's no doubt about it." All of the instructors nodded.

"That entire party is going to pass this test."
