Neron and Sonnis swam through the river, playfully Sonnis transformed into a dolphin and swam a few loops around Neron. Neron had a bit more trouble swimming, something about the water felt frightening. He didn't want to give that away to Sonnis.
They approached her palace, she seemed to become less playful and more tense.
"It's so quiet," she said. She had half expected to be greeted by her sister and brother, but nothing moved. Her sense of distress grew as she headed into the palace. She walked down the empty hall to the throne room and found it desolate.
That was when she sensed something.
"Someone has been here." She whispered to Neron. She ran to the other side and looked down the long hall. Sure enough there, standing at the end of the hall, was the dark form of Balyn. She was facing away from Sonnis.
"STOP!" Sonnis roared.
Balyn did a half turn and saw Sonnis and smiled.
"Looking for your family traitor?" Balyn sneered.
"How dare you!" Sonnis screeched. "Your father promised."
Balyn smirked she had turned fully toward Sonnis, that was when Neron joined them. Balyn faltered seeing Neron for a moment but then returned to her arrogant expression.
"I am admittedly surprised Neron, I thought you were better than this," she said.
Neron stepped closer to Sonnis. "I was foolish." He said loudly.
"No," Balyn answered, shaking her head, "you were weak at heart. You didn't like fathers plans from the start."
Sonnis was starting to boil, "don't speak to him that way."
Balyn drew a weapon, but before she much of a chance to prepare Sonnis flew at her. All her rage was channeled into this attack. The resentment the Enderdragon had turned her with was bubbling against him. She was unspeakably angry.
"You tricked me!" She screamed as she took a slash at Balyn which she barely avoided. "I hate all of you."
"Obviously not all of us," Balyn snarled, "your boyfriend there lured you in."
Sonnis faltered for a second, but before Balyn could take advantage she began again even more hatefully.
Neron was slightly terrified seeing Sonnis transform. He watched her dive and slash at Balyn with an increasing tempo. Balyn herself was starting to find it difficult to avoid the attacks, but he knew her spiky friends would be coming to aid. He could see it in the widening of her eyes. Neron drew his sword and thinking of his sister, ran into the battle.
Sonnis seemed slightly surprised by his action, which allowed Balyn just enough time to get a single scratch onto Sonnis. Thats all it took Sonnis screamed and blasted Balyn with her magic powers. All around them the energy of this final attack erupted. Neron was knocked off his feet and went tumbling backwards.
When everything cleared what was left of Balyn was a huge light brown fish with a glowing yellow eye. The fish struggled, but Sonnis was holding onto it with her powers.
"What did you do?" Neron asked, part amused, part frightened.
Sonnis flashed him a smile, "she got what she deserved." She turned back to the fish. "What do I want to do with you? Cut you up into pieces maybe." She smiled.
Neron felt just the tiniest bit bad for Balyn. "I think we should put her somewhere for now. Till your family decides what to do with her."
Some of Sonnis's fire faded, she shook her head slightly but agreed. They made a small prison inside the castle to trap Balyn the fish in. For good measure Sonnis added obsidian around it.
When they were done they both sat back for a moment, catching their breath. Then they heard a terrible roar from above.
