Sonnis and Neron

Sonnis was quickly adapting to her new life in the nether. She no longer minded the heat, or the lava light. In fact with her growing powers she greatly enjoyed both. She and Neron spent slow and lazy days together, he gave her extensive tours of the fortress and the surrounding areas and in turn she took him for rides on her little creature over the lava.

Rissa was more resistant to adapting, but even she was smiling more often. Most of her injuries had healed nicely at this point.

Though Neron talked about his family Sonnis never saw anything of them.

"They trust me to be on my own," he told her.

She felt a pang of jealousy, it had took her banishment to get freedom. She in turn told him lots about her family, especially Amos.

"He sounds terrible," Neron said.

"He was obsessed with me!" She said, she explained how she had felt ruined within her family. She went on to tell him about her parents and their ambitions for her to be a lady goddess and how she loved to explore.

"What brought you here?" He asked.

She felt a tears rising slowly. She told him the last part of her tale, how'd she had tried to help her cousin and earned her punishment, and she talked extensively of how her uncle had treated her. Neron listened with an increasing amount of horror.

"Your family sounds awful," he told her, she nodded slightly and immediately felt a bit bad.

So she went on and told him about her brother and how much she loved her mother. She told a bit about being part human in technicality.

"I think I must have had a human parent," Neron told her in a hushed voice.

"You don't know though?"

"No," he wouldn't meet her eye, "not a clue, all I know is that they left me," he seemed to grow much darker.

Sonnis felt a need to comfort him, so she reached over and took his hand. He didn't look but his face reddened. Sonnis smiled slightly and drew him a bit closer to herself.

When they returned Rissa was waiting for them with arms crossed. "You two look awfully cozy she accused."

They both drew away at once slightly embarrassed.

Rissa flicked her hair and stalked back to the fortress muttering.

"She doesn't like me," Neron said suddenly.

"She's difficult at best," Sonnis reassured him, "she's good though, you just need to know her better."

"If she doesn't bite my head off."

Sonnis laughed lightly, "true enough."

Sonnis held his hand as they walked through the halls and back to her lodgings.

They paused briefly at the door in an awkward way, Neron was blushing more and more.

"This is your room," he said, though it was obvious.

"Indeed," Sonnis said, shifting slightly.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow?" He asked suddenly bright.

Sonnis smiled and lightly she leaned forward on her toes and kissed his forehead. His face paled slightly but he smiled.

Rissa came later, "so you and Neron?"

She perched on Sonnis's bed. For some odd reason for once Rissa was annoying to Sonnis. "Yeah, me and Neron." She said plainly.

"There's something going on here," Rissa said in a more hushed voice, "I can sense chaos here. I think we need to leave." She dropped her eyes to avoid looking at Sonnis's expression.
