Running through town with a baby and a basket in her arms was tiring. She looked for filled places that would take the child, but no one could. If they found out that she had a Black mage's child, they would kill her and the child that survived. Being a Light mage was one thing, but the child looked too much like her father to keep her. She never planned on getting pregnant by that filth to begin with and his bastard child could die for all she cared, but the child was alive for a reason.
Looking up with hatred in her blue eyes as blond hair flew in the wind, she noticed a bar. Heading in through the door she seen a lot of men and women drinking or working. She seen an empty table in the back and moved towards it with the sleeping child covered in a basket. As she sat down, a server approached her.
"Ma'am. Can I get you anything?"
"Swift winds in a glass with stones." She replied what her uncle Jake told her to say at any bar.
"I'll be right back with you." The woman said as she walked away.
She sat there for a good twenty minutes before a man of tall stature and wide frame sat across from her.
"What do ya need, Missy?" The stranger asked.
"A child removed from my sight." She replied with cold disdain.
"A child removed is a heavy burden." He replied.
She looked at the basket and pushed it towards the man. "I don't care what you do with it. Kill it or raise it. As long as it is removed from my sight forever."
"Martha!" The man yelled across the busy bar. The same server came over and when he pointed to the basket, she took it and walked away.
"This is fifty thousand gold for dealing with my problem," she said as her pale hand pushed a purse full of gold his way. He took the gold and walked away from her, only to turn around and look at her as she stood up.
"I know yer uncle and now I know ya, Vivica Promise. Ya ever asks for anything again; I will make sure ya live to regret it." He stated as he turned and walked away.
"Valora! Her name is Valora!" She yelled towards him as she left.
"I'll be decidin' her name, Miss Promise. Leave, before yer life is taken." He stated without looking at her.
As she got to the door, another woman held it open for her and slammed it shut afterwards. Vivica seethed all the way back to the main road to get back into her carriage where her guards waited for her, but before she could reach her destination, a strong hand covered her mouth, and a dagger was shoved deep into her heart. She was dead in minutes.
