The bubble man nodded with satisfaction, then popped another bubble and pushed it all the way to the lamppost, just as he would impulsively kick a tin can he encountered on the road during his childhood. He didn't know why he felt compelled to push them, perhaps to demonstrate his strength, to release some pressure, or maybe it was just an instinct.
He walked quickly and soon left his astonished wife far behind, not knowing where he was headed. Perhaps he was going to settle scores with his foolish boss or maybe he wanted to find a place to temporarily hide from the enforcers.
This series of events was also fully observed by Yu Liang from the darkness, as he watched the bubble man's receding figure and the toppled lamppost, deep in thought.
He had thought that the mutation of this Ghost Man was the result of "a career change," as the government flyers had said, but the more he listened, the less it seemed to be the case.
