How could Joseph not understand Lucille's thoughts?
Seeing the fleeting melancholy on her face, his heart ached as if pricked by a needle. He wished he could take her place.
Joseph hummed and said, "Don't worry, it's just a minor injury."
"I'm not worried about you." Lucille shifted her gaze elsewhere. Admitting it was out of the question, lest he become complacent and overbearing.
Joseph chuckled, his stunningly handsome face wore a look of helplessness but doting fondness. He was frank and said, "Bobo, trust me. I won't let anything happen to you."
"What?"
Lucille sensed something from Joseph's statement. "You mentioned having something important to handle. It isn't related to me, is it?"
"You finally noticed, haven't you? "
Joseph patted Lucille's head with a loving expression. "Seems like you're not too dumb after all."
Upon receiving a definitive answer, Lucille was nothing short of shocked!
This was the polar opposite of what she had imagined!
