One month later

Mark was returning to the base as he finished today's deliveries. It was Friday, so he was helping with the Transportation Department and more or less did similar deliveries to when he started working for Ava. But he was more aware of what he had transported and where this time.

The different delivery points were smaller labs that belonged to their Organization or two outside contractors and people they worked or traded with. From what he understood, even if most of the types of machinery were weapons or vehicles, they were designed by the Research Department and made by the Mechanic Department. Even so, it seemed that for some of those tasks; they outsourced them to third parties, but they were minor tasks so that they won't have a leak of what they were making.

And that was where Mark and Transportation Department came: to deliver the materials these people needed or take other materials or parts they needed, which the Organization had paid for or traded.

A month had passed since he joined the Organization officially, and he had adjusted the hand of his new schedule.

Monday and Thursday, he helped the Mechanic Department with any tasks. Again, that involved gun assembling, but this time he had to follow a specific blueprint or help develop new vehicles or maintain some they already had. He hadn't had the chance to work on other types of machinery, like exoskeletons. Even so, now and then, some people asked him for their opinion if he had any tips about improving their assembling speed without decreasing the quality of their work.

Mark was happy to help as this was the first time someone had asked for tips from him. That was why he worked hard to keep leveling up his Skills so that he wouldn't fall behind others. In the end, he didn't know everything, he just had the advantage of his cheat-like Skill, but even those weren't omnipotent. Depending on their levels, there were limits, so he kept trying to level them up as fast as possible.

He helped in the Research Department on Wednesday and Thursday, where he hid similar tasks as the Mechanic Department. Still, instead of creating something, he was trying to improve the blueprint of what they already had, making sure there was no big flaw or waste of energy, etc. Other than Claire, who had become officially Head of the Research Department the next day after his debrief, people didn't know who Mark was.

People of different Departments, most times, didn't meet each other, except for their Heads or Second In Command in meetings, etc. But it didn't take long for Mark to draw his coworkers' attention there, as combining his <Beginner Mechanic> and his <Beginner Hacker>, he could simulate in his mind the assembly of the blueprints he was checking and, from that, find any flaws.

The simulations weren't perfect and depended on his familiarity with the parts used in them and if Mark had actually used them in past assemblies. That was why he tried to work on designs he assembled during his days at the Mechanic Department. Still, he had helped with some other designs. The simulations were less precise and took more time. Still, the difference was from seconds to a couple of minutes, which was acceptable considering others took hours or even days to think about possible adjustments.

As for the Combat Department, he hadn't been on any missions yet for it, but at weekends, he was training over there with other members. He started his 'training session' almost every time by sparring with Sam, which hadn't made another hit. Still, Mark could see the improvements in her defence, each time increasing at an incredible rate, as also her fighting techniques.

He also noticed that each time he beat her, the rewarded EXPS got lower each time, even if he didn't level up. So the fourth time and after, he didn't receive even a single EXP, but his Skills were improving at least. Still, he got the chance to fight with other people, who gave even less EXP than Sam but got enough to level up once from those fights.

He had had no news from Truck-kun other than a few text messages now and then. He tried to keep a low profile as they didn't know what Ava would do if they learned what great being was behind his powers.

As for Rubes, he hadn't had the chance to speak with him to clear things up, and even if he tried to talk with Ava, he hadn't succeeded in that either. He tried to tell Erinne to help him speak with Rubes, but she didn't seem interested in helping.

But even without Truck-kun's help, he made some improvements other than in his work in the Organization. He had actually trucked a few people but tried to keep it as random as possible, and combined with the people he beat in the Combat Department, he unlocked two new Skills.

The first one was <Feline Ears>, as he found more people who fulfilled the requirements for earning it. Although unfortunately, he didn't have a way to know the exact level of others by, through the size of their Energy Aura and density, he had an assumption of how much they had.

Through his training in the Combat Department, since he beat different people with different weak points and fighting styles and had to adjust to them, he also unlocked the <Exploit> Skil. It allowed him to find the weak points of other people, helping him defeat them faster, or he could use it on objects to break or weaken them.

As he parked his truck, he opened his [Status] to check his current progress.

He had Maxed Out some of his Skills, but unfortunately, even if they were Evolvable Skills, he couldn't evolve them since he was still D-Tier. He hadn't improved his <Beginner Tracker> as much as he didn't use it as much. However, still, it was slowly leveling up as for his <Martial Art> and <Minor Sword Mastery> since he kept changing between using them, as he fought some of his opponents with just hand combat and others with a wooden sword. Combining them didn't seem as effective as he thought at leveling them up, at least since he was splitting his focus on noticing any improvements in his usage of his Skills.

He had also revisited the <Dungeon> three more times, even if he fought some more powerful <Slimes>, earning more EXPS and increasing his combat-related Skills. He also got a few cores to make some <Small Healing Potions>, but nothing to help make even one <Novice Experience Potion>.

He made a few to sell unless they were much better than the ones he had. He made enough to have 5 <Truck Coins> but kept them for now in case of an emergency.

"Everything went as expected, I presume? " a female asked.

She was clearly part of the Research department since she wore the classic white coat that all of them wore.

"Good day to you too, Ruby," Mark said in a teasing tone.

This person was Ruby, who was actually another person other than him, and Erinne, who worked for more than one Department, but for a different reason than them. She worked in both the Mechanic and Research Department, which was a weird combination considering the rivalry between the Departments.

Mark's case was unique because he was part of all Departments except the Logistic one, so people didn't mind. As for Ruby's case, they didn't mind because of her condition.

"Will you ever use my actual name? It is not difficult to remember since you already know it as a gem. "

"Sure, Emerald. So why are you here? I was going to report to you either way later. "

The reason that Mark called her Ruby wasn't that he forgot her name, but he was teasing her because of the reason she worked in those two Departments. She had a double personality, each with different skills, one being useful in researching but unable to actually make something, while the other was the opposite. But none of the personalities knew about each other or believed it when the other told them about the existence of the other.

They assigned Ruby to the Mechanic Department while Emerald was in the Research Department. Mark had heard that she was also part of the Combat Department, or another personality of hers was, but it rarely appeared. Mark still hadn't met that third personality but knew her name was Diamond.

Another way that Mark could tell who was by reading her Energy Aura. When Ruby was 'in charge,' her aura was almost entirely black, while in Emerald's case, it was completely white. There was also some red color in her aura, but it was in the minority, lost to the prime color of the personality.

As for why Emerald was here, Mark knew the reason, as what he delivered today was part of some of her own creations to another lab of theirs. So Mark assured her everything was okay as he walked towards the garage to report on Julian.

After that, he would head back to the Mechanic Department, as he wanted to work on his personal project. In addition, it could help him communicate with Truck-kun without others knowing who Truck-kun was.

He was making a robotic body.
