Show stopper

Charla quickly finished her ramp walk and instantly stood on one corner with the other girls waiting for their verdict. She was hiding behind a few other girls as she could see several eyes on her. The girl was not sure about her performance and she was assuming that she must have embarrassed herself. She could even feel the judges constantly looking at her and talking about her.

"The girls in the last slot may leave." The lady judge pointed towards the girls waiting for their verdict and charla let out a sharp breath. She was not surprised that she had been rejected and seemed already prepared for it. She slowly picked up her backpack from a chair and then started to move towards the door following rest of the girls when suddenly the lady judge spoke up again.

"You! The red headed girl with sneakers.... you have to stay back." The lady smiled looking at Charla who instantly halted and turned to look at the judge.

She looked around her and realised that there was no other red headed girl and she pointed her finger towards her face. ",Are you talking about me?" She wanted to confirm before she embarrassed herself by staying back.

"Yes. I'm talking about you." The lady looked at her iPod and then looked at the girl again." Charla... That is your name right?"

Charla nodded her head in approval not able to understand anything. "Have I performed so bad that they want to humiliate me for making me leave?" Charla whispered as sge knew that each and every girl present here had experience in modelling and perhaps she was the only one who had just seen the ramp walk on television.

"Well, we have made a few changes in the selections." Zorro turned to look at Victoria who was yet standing proudly flipping her hair. "Victoria shall no longer be the show stopper and to replace her we have somebody new. Everybody, please welcome the show stopper for our new brand miss Charla!!" The lady spoken much excitement and Charla planted her hands on her mouth and opened her eyes wide looking at the lady judge as everybody started to clap for her.

"What?"The red headed girl was utterly surprised and more than her Victoria was surprised who had a similar reaction.

"What?" Victoria too spoke in utter confusion looking at Zorro. "But how can this be? I had performed better than her."

"I am sorry lady but this girl definitely performed better than you and we are the judges. We will judge who perform better not you." James who was still now sitting quietly yet admiring Charla quickly spoke up getting a little irritated by Victoria. Victoria instantly pursed her lips and turned to look at Charla in much hatred.

Charlo quickly walked ahead coming closer to the two judges and instantly bowed a little." Thank you so much! It is indeed an honour to be a part of the company as a show stopper."

"It is a pleasure to have you in the company. If may I ask you did you design your outfit?" James looked at Charles stylish skirt and her extremely cute tee shirt.

"Yes! That is my way of cutting my expenses". Charla shrugged her shoulders feeling a little intimidated by all the attention that she was receiving. The girl blushed a little as James giggled hearing her honest reply.

"Well! You no longer really have to cut your expenses as you will be paid $2500 as the starting salary each month. Also you can take up an apartment in the eagle eye complex for which the company shall pay the rent for you. Also you will get a company car and a driver since soon you will be in the limelight for being our company's show stopper." James smiled looking at Charla who was yet standing on the stage in extreme disbelief.

Charla simply smiled a little and nodded her head thanking everyone. Victoria on the other hand was now looking at Charla from head to toe as if she wanted to murder the girl for stealing her space.

30 minutes later....

Charla had now signed a two year contract with the company. The contract also stated that in three months time her income will increase in case they really like her work. The girl happily signed the contract as she knew that she had now nothing to worry.

"Thank you so much Charla and welcome to our company. You can join the work from tomorrow and we shall see you at 10:00 AM sharp. You can register your address to the reception area and from tomorrow the company car will be all yours." Zorro held out her hand and Charla quickly shook it in much excitement. Soon after signing the contract the girl was handed over an envelope in which she had received $2000 in advance.

Charla quickly placed the envelope in her backpack and walked out of the room extremely excited. She still could not believe that she had just been assigned as the show stopper. As soon as the girl walked out of the room she headed towards the reception area literally sprinting towards the cute brunette girl. As soon as the receptionist looked at Charla she smiled looking at the gorgeous girl.

"Well, your smile says that you have been selected." Anna smiled happily and Charla folded next to the reception taking deep breaths gasping for air.

"Yes! I cannot believe that I have been selected as the show stopper!" Charla clapped her hands and Anna quickly hugged the girl tightly.

"You totally deserve it my dear. "Anna gently patted her back.

"It has all happened because of your help. Thank you so much." Charla literally folded her hands looking at Anna and Anna quickly held her hands with her right hand placing them down. "I have been working here from past so many years and I can now tell from the face of a person who is talented and who is not. So you tell me what is your next plan? They must have told you to report for the work but have you decided where to stay?"

"Oh yes! They will be sponsoring my rent and I have to live in the eagle eye complex."The girl smiled happily as she no longer had to worry about her rent under apartment.

"Oh my dear. Half of the city has been occupied by the eagle eye company and is famously called as the Eagles I complex. They have villas, apartments and also medium range houses. The company sponsored apartments are in huge number and I think you should go there and see for yourselves and select one for yourself. I also live in the same complex and if you want I can take you there after my work is over". The receptionist offered to help the girl and Charla looked at her and much gratefulness.

"Great! As soon as you finish your work I shall see you there. Meanwhile I have to go and shop for some clothes. I just received my first pay check and I think it is time to spend it." Charla went looking at the receptionist and the girl giggled loudly.

"Do not go to any mall but I would suggest that you go to the B block market which is just a 5 minute walk from here. The B block market is famous for its branded clothes at 80-90% discounted prices. They keep all the clothes which are more than two months old for any company and they want to discard it. The receptionist was now guiding Charla the way to the B block and the red headed girl quickly thanked her and then walked out of the building heading straight towards the market.
