The young man was nearly caught off-guard as he listened to those sharp words, feeling a heat rapidly approaching him from the left as he instinctively ducked down. By mere inches, the divine blade of the golden-plated Paladin missed his head, taking a few hairs off in the process.
There was no hesitation withdrawing his body as he allowed himself to move on instinct, cocking his fist back while ducked down, aiming his sights on Nero's abdomen.
A sword strike would be too slow in that moment between milliseconds, instead–
