‘Love may not have a place in the weddings of this world, but wouldn’t it be happier to marry the one for you? I wonder if you’re looking for someone you’d want to actually share your whole life with… with tons of political benefit or none...’ “I’ll find the person who’d make you happy...” Artie whispered while staring at the archduke and standing on his left, but Larkin only deepened his smile. “It’s not yet the time for wedding vows, Artie.” ... Promises were uttered, and vows were made. With the archduchy facing one of its darkest times, Artie Shen and Larkin Ellis decided to stand together against the horns of war and the clawed clutches of the past. Talking about the circumstances that led to these strange arrangements wasn't the main purpose of coming here. Even if it was rather strange for Herriot and Havina to see Terone this serious, they still saw a rather serious bearing of their father. He was discussing the problems posed by the lockdown… and the very matter about the conspiracy. Whether it was true or not, the damage had already been done.
Artie felt a little guilty. It seemed that her actions had brought troubles in places that she was not even looking at. Who knew that tampering with the Gates would also harm the power balance of the descendants against the servants. Perhaps the other descendants weren't able to test this because they didn't fight or that Machiav's forces were rather stronger than normal.
Still, that didn't mean that they needed to forget Herriot's case. Herriot, one of the strongest descendants, actually killed a demon servant in one blow. That was indeed worth the gossips.
