Carl

I was thinking about what Dan said in the diner this morning. I mean how can you just tell someone just met you like them. I was so deep in my thoughts I didn't notice when Alex walked up to me.

"Hey baby bear."

"When will you stop calling me that?"

"When I feel like. What's eating you up? You came home looking down. Did he do something to you?"

"No. He said he wants to date me."

"Oh....okay. That fast?!"

"Yeah I know. I'm scared what should I don't know what to do."

"Okay calm down Carl. You'll be okay. Let me talk to him okay."

"Okay.... No wait. I told him I'll give him a chance."

"Are you sure you okay with this? I mean he looks like he has money and something like that"

"I know but I also have money. It's like he is invading my privacy. I don't mum and dad knowing I'm gay. If that happens they won't accept anything from me again."

"I know you want to help them but you aren't the only one in this."

"So what is it you want to send to mum?"

"Well you told me she wants baking pans and equipments."

"Yes I did"

"I sent them over to her place. I bought some for her in your name."

"Oh no wonder she was a smiles."

"Yeah. So what are you going to do about Dan? You're giving him a chance. Do you want anyone knowing this."

"Nobody should know. Not even the press."

She nodded and smiled at me. She hugged me and I hugged her back. She was the best father and mother figure I could ask for.

"Aww a group hug. Can I join?"

We turned to see Brittany standing there. She was wearing a crop top with mini jeans. She looked beautiful with no make up on just the way Alex likes it. I saw Alex staring at her as if they are meeting for the first time. I wished someone would look at me like that one day. I'm not afraid yo say it and Alex knows it cause I've told her I'm jealous of her.

"Well I think I should leave the two of you alone. No funny business okay. My doors are not sound proof."

"Shut up baby bear. Brit baby can we go to our room?"

"Um....I was going out but I can spare a few minutes"

"See you later Carl"

I watched as my horny sister followed her girlfriend upstairs. It won't surprise anyone what they are going to do. I took out my headphones and started listening to music. Joy walked in a few minutes later with a frown on her face.

"Hey."

I waved at her and went back to reading. She came to yank the headphones from my head. I looked at her questionably.

"What's wrong Joy?"

"I met reporters on the way and I had to loose them."

"What! Are you okay?"

"I am. Where's Alex by the way."

"She's in her room."

"I'm going there then."

"Joy....I don't think..."

Before I could finish she had already dashed up the stairs to their room. This is not going to be good. I waited then I heard the scream and the sound of the door banging and feet running down the stairs. I looked to the stairs to see Joy followed by Alex with her sports bra and Brittany I'm an oversized shirt. I watched how Alex chased Joy around the room and Brittany trying to stop them. This only made me laugh.

"Joy. I swear I'm gonna kill you if I catch you."

"Oh no you're not. If you knew you were going to get dirty. You could have at least locked the door you horny dog."

"Alex baby its okay. You don't have to do anything."

"I'm surely going to kill her."

I watched in amusement as Joy came behind me and Alex stopped.

"Oh I see. You're afraid of your baby bear."

"No I'm not. I don't want to hurt him. Joy can you please leave him"

"No. Not unless you calm down and tell me you won't kill me."

"Fine. I won't kill you."

I watched as she went towards Brittany and hugged her. Joy also left my back and sat on the chair beside me. Well Alex isn't scared of me in any way its just that the time she came out to my parents my dad was about to beat her to death and I took the blows. I later called the police on him for hitting her and me but he was bailed out and is now a changed man but he still doesn't like Alex. Since then Alex has kept me like a treasure she never wants to loose. I even helped her with Brittany.

"So Alex I'm sorry for pouncing on you in your room for your private time. Carl didn't tell me you were busy so its also his fault"

"Come on Joy even if I told you you would have gone up there anyway. Besides I tried telling you but you decided to run up there."

"I'll agree with Carl"

"Oh come on Alex. I said I'm sorry."

"Whatever."

"Yes my reason for looking for you. Can we allow Dan not to see Carl again."

"What?! Why?!"

"Yeah why?"

"Is there a problem Joy?"

"Yes the problem is some reporters came around after he dropped Carl off. "

"How did you see them?"

"I was on the balcony. I placed bees in their van and they run away destroying their cameras"

She laughed at that and I turned to Alex wondering how she got her as a best friend and I as my manager.

"So what is going to happen now?"

"Now. You can only talk to James through face time and on the phone. This is for the best. What do you think?"

"Um....I think its for the best or what do you think Carl? Considering the fact that he wants to date you"

"Wait that fast?!"

"Yes I know. I think I have to tell him about the situation at hand. I'm sure he would understand"

"I can't believe he wants to date you that fast. He also kind of looks familiar and rich. Very rich"

"Yes Brit I told him."

I rolled my eyes at them and was about to call Dan when Joy took the phone out of my hands.

"Joy?"

"Carl O'Brien. This is a very serious matter. You don't know anything about this guy and he wants to date you. Isn't this suspicious?"

"I talked to him about it. I also decided to give him a chance."

"You sure you don't want me to dig into this man"

"Yes. Now hand me my phone."

She gave me my phone and smiled at me.

"So any ideas for book two?"

"No. But I think I'll be writing soon."

She smiled at me and then kissed Alex on the cheek which Alex also returned with a kiss on the lips. This made Joy fake gag and get up leaving us in the room.
