Episode 16

After Leanor successfully persuading everyone, Evan managed to lead the group towards the entrance of the delve (Cave).

Alice, Raina, and Rufus walked nearly together, squeezed between Evan's gang.

The delve was enveloped in darkness, with only occasional drops of water breaking the silence as they fell from the rocky conformations over and crashed onto the ground.

The walls of the delve were covered in swamp where water driblets had accumulated, but other areas remained devoid of any verdure.

The delve had sections with wide, rugged jewels, while others were narrow and constricted.

Leanor and Evan walked side by side at the front, frequently having to bend down to pass through the low sections.

" Lenny, how did you come across the wild wolves?"

Evan asked, his eyes fixed on the path ahead as he held a flashlight.

" They were chasing Rufus," Leanor replied, glancing back at Rufus while Evan turned to look.

" How did you end up here?"

" I am not sure. The ground split in two and I fell in while running," Leanor explained.

Evan looked at her, pondering for a moment before asking,

" How have you been recently? You know you can come to me directly and I will help you if you need anything."

Evan said.

Hearing Evan's words, Leanor could not help but feel a sense of irony.

He was the one with Violet a few days ago at the dining and now he was saying these words to her.

Leanor kept her eyes concentrated on the path ahead, but her mind wandered back to the history between her and Evan.

" Lenny! Are you alright? You feel lost," Evan asked, concerned.

" It's nothing!" Leanor incontinently lowered her head, suddenly feeling foolish.

Evan did not perceive anything unusual about Leanor. He turned around and informed everyone.

" We should take a break."

Everyone remained motionless. Evan's group gathered together and began to eat and drink. Evan also walked over to join them.

Raina approached Leanor and noticed that she was lost in her thoughts, so she asked indignantly.

" Did Evan make a stupid comment?"

Leanor shook her head, gently wiped down sweat from the corner of her eye, and displayed a smile.

"Nothing."

Raina was easily not veritably pleased with this response, but she could not find any further words to say. She pulled Leanor back to where Alice and Rufus were and sat down.

The four of them sat together. At that moment, Raina rumored.

" Leanor, I think we should leave Evan and his gang..."

Leanor was confused and asked.

" Why?"

" Do not you see that they're constantly gaping at us?" Alice said, looking at the people hard. They were still eating, talking, and laughing.

Leanor also glanced at those people and happed to meet Evan's smiling eyes.

She smiled back and jounced.

"It doesn't mean anything..."

"Don't come to me when it's too late."

Rufus glared and said impatiently.

" But there are so plenty of them, it would be briskly to find an exit if we work together!"

"Must we work with them?"

Rufus' words left Leanor stunned, and she remained silent for a while.

" Leanor, Rufus is right. Must we work with them?"

Alice looked at Leanor with a serious expression.

Leanor was confused on what to do.

" It seems that you like him. However, just follow him, If you do not want to leave him. I do not want to be involved in any strange circumstances with you," Rufus said, snarling and glooming as he restlessly packed his backpack and prepared to leave.

" Do not be hasty! Did not you hear what they said? It'll be extremely difficult for you to escape on your own. also, there are several wild wolves roving outdoors. You'll be alone," Raina snappily interposed, trying to stop Rufus from going.

Rufus dithered for a moment before seesawing.

" I only agreed because I do not want to die yet. I still want to mate with my future mate."

Alice and Raina rolled their eyes upon hearing Rufus' words, while Leanor shook her head disapprovingly and shifted her eyes back to Evan.

She also glanced at Raina and Alice, as everyone eagerly awaited her decision.

After a brief moment of contemplation, Leanor eventually jounced.

At that moment, Evan put on his pack and called out to everyone.

" Let's go, everyone." He also walked towards Leanor and rumored to her," We should go." Leanor was about to respond, but she saw Evan turn around and walk into another delve.

Seeing that he was walking too fast, Leanor had no time to say anything, so she looked at everyone apologetically and followed Evan.

" Evan stop," Leanor called out, trying to find him.

Suddenly, Evan made a silent gesture and also communicated with the people behind him." Everyone, be quiet." incontinently, everyone fell silent and looked at Evan in unbelief.

There were some rustling sounds in the surroundings, egging everyone to snappily point their flashlights towards the source of the noise.

A black big bird plumes it's feather towards them.

" Everyone this way."

Evan's critical cry echoed through the air, egging everyone to flee in haste. In a surprising turn of events, the towering mountain wall suddenly faded, as if it had noway been there.
