Chapter 20: The Midnight Masquerade Part 1

It was a rare quiet evening at the guild, the usual bustle replaced by a calm that Ryuto knew wouldn't last. He was just beginning to relax, lounging in his chair with Roland and Ruda nearby, when the door to the guild burst open. In walked a royal messenger, dressed in an elaborate uniform, his presence commanding attention.

"Sir Ryuto Velclair," the messenger announced, bowing deeply. "You and your party are formally invited to the Midnight Masquerade, hosted by the royal court."

Ryuto blinked in confusion. "The what?"

The messenger handed over an ornate scroll sealed with the royal insignia. Ryuto hesitated before opening it, glancing at his companions. Nina, who had been sitting across the table from him, perked up, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

"Ooh, a royal masquerade!" Nina practically squealed, grabbing the scroll from Ryuto's hand. "Do you know what this means? Fancy dresses, elegant dancing, and... ooh, maybe I can show off my moves!"
