He didn't know how to use the hoverboard?
'I think I should ask him.'
Thinking this, Aziel called out to Zephyr, who was about to head ahead.
"Wait... Zephyr, do you know how to use the hoverboard?"
Zephyr froze in his tracks. He turned around, placed his left hand on his chin, and pondered for a while.
A few moments later, Zephyr pursed his lips.
"I think you've finally gone mad."
Aziel's face turned serious as he replied, "It's not like I don't know how to use it. I was just checking if you still know how to use it."
"And why would I forget how to use the hoverboard? Let's get going, you'll figure it out."
"Wait, at least tell me the theory."
Zephyr sighed and spoke, "Alright... First, you have to direct the flow of your mana to your feet. The hoverboard will absorb it and keep flying, but you need to continuously supply it with mana, or it'll deactivate."
Aziel grinned as he intently listened to the explanation, careful to catch every word Zephyr said, then pursed his lips.
"Looks like you haven't forgotten the theory yet. Good work."
After that, Aziel told Zephyr to go ahead, assuring him that he would follow right after.
"Alright, now that he's gone, I can figure this out," he muttered to himself, clenching his fist with determination.
Aziel stood on the hoverboard, which was still hovering a few inches above the ground without any mana input. As he stood on the board, he closed his eyes, trying to feel the mana within him.
But nothing happened.
He tried again.
Failed.
And again.
Failed.
After several attempts...
On his thirteenth try, a warmth began to pool in his chest, slowly spreading through his veins. It felt like a gentle current of energy.
His skin tingled, humming with the sensation of mana flowing through him, both foreign and familiar. The energy felt like molten light coursing through his body, in sync with the rhythm of his heartbeat. Each pulse of mana sharpened his senses and heightened his awareness.
He felt an electric rush, a subtle hum beneath his skin as the mana filled every fiber of his being.
Finally, he directed the flow of mana to his feet, like water flowing in a river.
The hoverboard reacted instantly, its black outlines glowing with a golden hue pulsing with energy. It levitated higher and began accelerating forward at an impressive speed of 80 km/h.
At first, Aziel struggled to balance, but slowly and steadily, he got the hang of it.
Now that he had learned how to use the hoverboard, he was ready to go.
He retrieved his phone from his pocket and dialed a specific number.
Ring. Ring.
No answer.
Ring. Ring.
—Hello? What's the matter, Aziel?
—I can't explain over the phone. Come home, wherever you are.
—Okay.
Click.
Zephyr, sensing the urgency in Aziel's tone, turned halfway to the academy and headed back toward him.
...
'After all, I don't even know where the academy is,' Aziel thought with a chuckle.
As he ruffled his hair, he saw Zephyr standing before him, looking at him coldly, as if he were trash.
"So, why did you call me back?"
"I thought... it would be better if we go together, hahaha."
Zephyr let out a long sigh. "Okay... whatever, just come quickly."
"As you say, commander."
...
Aziel now stood before the massive establishment.
He couldn't believe his eyes.
The Arcanum Academy—one of the top academies on the human continent—was as large as a city. Towering spires and a grand castle-like central structure dominated the skyline, surrounded by smaller, uniquely styled buildings. Cobblestone streets wound through the area, with floating islands, trees, and a river running through the grounds.
The academy bustled with students and instructors, all bathed in a magical glow. It had everything from living spaces to entertainment areas, including game stations and shopping malls.
As Aziel took in the paradise-like surroundings, his digital wristband flickered. A holographic screen emitted a soft blue light.
He raised his wrist and read the information on the screen.

'Wait, what are these Arcanum points?'
"Aziel...?"
Aziel snapped his head towards Zephyr, who was pursing his lips.
"Aziel, what class are you in?"
"Uh... Y113."
"Oh really? Same here."
"Really?"
"Yep."
"Let's go together."
As Aziel stepped forward, he suddenly halted, as did Zephyr.
A black holographic screen flickered into existence.
