Chapter 15: Hunt Continues Part.2

Whatever hit me in the back made me fly for a couple of meters.

I only stopped when I hit a tree on my way forward.

Impact from this collision made me lost my breath. I was like a fish without water, I tried and tried to catch my breath, but that wasn't easy.

Worst of all wasthe fact that I didn't have much time before this bear will catch up to me.

Finally, I was able to get oxygen in my lungs and slowly rise my upper body.

Looking straight ahead made me realize that everything was blurry, I was feeling dizzy and weak.

This state continued until I felt every fiber of my body screaming in terror, it was telling me to run for my life. It was like I met a natural predator without any chance of my survival.

My survival instinct kicked in, adrenaline filled my whole body and with this new found boost, I jumped to my side.

Right away, I could hear something break. It sounded like a tree being snapped in half by a huge force.

Looking at my previous location, I saw bark fly in every direction, splinters shooting out and a trunk, or rather what was left from it.

Standing next to this trunk was a creature responsible for all of this.

The same massive bear I met previously, he stood there with a tree in his jaws and stared at me with his glowing red eyes.

His stare made me feel cold all over my body, and sweat poured down my back.

(Is this the feeling you have when you're meeting your death?) I grew nervous with each passing second. I knew that this was the biggest obstacle from the moment I got this new life.

Scared, I used [Analysis] to at least know what I'm dealing with. And what I saw didn't make me any less uneasy.

Description:

Titan Bears got their title because of their size, but this isn't the only reason why they are feared by so many people. They are bigger, stronger, have better sences, are overally more agresive and brutal than any other bear species living in this world. Their jaws can even penetrate metal armor, but they aren't only known for their lethal blows, another aspect you can't overlook is their defence. Titan bears fur can protect them from metal arrows or other projectiles, their flesh can prevent even sharpest blades from reaching their bones. All of this makes Titan Bears a force not to be trifled with. ]

His skills gave me answers to how he appeared and what exactly hit me.

(This bear has almost as many skills as me. And on top of that all of his skills are useful in a fight, mine on the other hand...)

While standing up, I realized something "My sword is gone. Where is it?"

After looking around, I spotted it pretty much instantly. It was on the ground near the tree I hit previously, but there was only one inconvinience. It was laying directly underneath a bloodthirsty bear.

Suddenly, my view on my sword was blocked by a tree. Seeing this, I immediately looked up and saw a bear lunging at me with open jaws.

To avoid his attack, I rolled under his stomach. This brought me close enough to my sword, to retrieve it.

With my weapons back in my grasp, I turned to Zombie Bear and again avoided his lunge, in the same way as previously.

Disliking my passive role in this fight, I chose to attack. I raised my revolver and started shooting.

My shots penetrated his flesh, but he didn't bleed. Those wounds weren't serve enough to hurt him, it was like a graze to him.

(Like the description said, Titan Bear's defence is really hight.)

Fortunately, I have a way to upgrade my bullets. It's works similar to how I upgrade my fists.

To enchant a bullet itself, I don't need to keep constant flow of mana at all times. I just have to fill it with mana until the whole bullet is more durable and stronger.

(This should help.) I reloaded my revolver with those enchanted bullets and started my assault.

This time I focused on his head, especially on the already injured side.

After my first bullet hit the target, blood started floowing. Seeing this gave me confidence, so I emptied my magazine while aiming at his right eye.

Soon, I heard an antagonizing roar. As it turned out two of my shots hit his eye, making him half blind.

This enraged the bear. He lunged at me again, but this time I didn't need to carefully dodge his attack. With his blind spot being his whole right side, I moved exactly there with ease.

And not wanting to let go of this chance, I swung my sword at his already damaged front right leg.

My blow disturbed his balance making him fall to the ground, but this massive bear was harder to deal with than it seems.

Immediately after falling down, he got up faster than I ever anticipated.

It didn't take long for me to smelt an unpleasant breath coming from his open jaws, which tried to tear me apart.

Right away, I knew I won't be able to dodge his bite, so I created a big rock and shoved it in his mouth.

This bought me some time to further our distance.

But, after only taking three steps, I saw that Titan Bear used his jaws to crush the rock I created.

"So, it's true that strength of his bite is no joke."

This whole fight up to this point let me realize how strong my enemy really is.

There's also one more thing I learned in this fight, it was how my system determines stats. Because yes, maybe I know the teoretical difference between exact numbers, but without experiencing it myself I wouldn't be able to compare the real thing.

With new idea of the power difference, I was ready to start this fight again.

I stored my revolver in my inventory and rushed at Zombie Titan Bear with just the sword in hand.

First, I decided to destroy his front right leg to immobilize him even more. And just when I wanted to execute this plan, I got interupted.

Titan Bear started swinging his paws at me and it wasn't him just randomly attacking, even if it looked like it.

His first swing showed me that something was off, his speed and moves seemed odd.

(They seem random, but at the same time they don't? ) then it hit me... "Claw Rampage!.. It's can't be good."

After finding out about my opponent's move, I got a crazy idea. I wanted to use this seemingly random attack pattern to train.

With this thought in my mind, I stood in front of Titan Bear and started avoiding his blows.

I decided to 'train' like this for one main reason, I wanted to bring out my potential in a near death situation.

Knowing that any blow of my enemy can end my life, any mistake that I make can be my end, motivated me to go past my limits.

I ducked, jumped, turned right and left, moved back, I did everything to avoid Titan Bear's attacks.

For some time I stood my ground against Titan Bear's [Claw Rampage], but it all collapsed when my back touched a tree behind me.

Right away I knew that I won't be able to avoid Titan Bear's next attack, so I used my sword to block his incoming paw.

Unfortunately, it did almost nothing to soften the impact. I again flew in the air, but this time it was worse. I felt an excruciating pain coming from my right side, especially from my arm.

After hitting the ground, I looked at it and what I saw left me dumbstruck.

At first my brain didn't processed what happened, but soon I realized that my arm was twisted in a werid angle.

"Now I need to deal with this Bear without my right arm....hahahahha....This fight really excite me!" Out last exchange let me feel a fire burning inside me, a desire to win, no matter what.
