Chapter 42: We've Found Him
“We’ve found him!” I hear Lucas’ voice before I see him. He comes jogging into the kitchen just as I’ve taken my first bite of food.
“What?” I choke a little on my food at his sudden outburst and appearance.
“We’ve found him. Alfonso. We know where he is,” Lucas is a little out of breath as he talks. He snatches the other half of my sandwich off my plate and takes a big bite. I narrow my eyes at him because that is not what I meant when I told him I would save him some food.
“Well, what are you standing around eating my food for? Go get him!” I snatch my sandwich out of his hands as I order him to get moving. Lucas grins at me while trying to frown.
“You’re still talking to the King,” Lucas reminds me, bending down to get in my face. I look up at him and bite my lip. I’m nervous and excited. Finding Alfonso is only the next step. If he isn’t the one behind my kidnapping, if it was more than just a revenge plot, then this is an extremely dangerous situation.
