The creature was a wolf-gorilla hybrid. It hulked towards me, massive arms that were 3 times thicker than the trees behind it. Its face looked like that of a wolf with red eyes, and its legs were long and strong enough for it to walk on either two or four legs.

Scars crisscrossed its body, and some of the wounds looked fresh. It was obvious that this thing wanted to eat me.

'Oi, Oi, you dare approach me?' I said, spawning in [Flame Gaurdian]. The wolf, which seemed to not care, rocketed towards me, opening its toothy maw. It was fast, but I was faster. I dashed to the side, and [Flame Gaurdian] attacked a long scar on the right side of its belly.

The wolf howled in pain as the blade of fire reached deep, and then pulled out.

A drop of water materialized in front of me. After my [Flame Gaurdian] had disappeared, the wolf turned to me. The drop shot forward, shooting through its arm. I had aimed for a big scar on its right arm, and now the wound was bleeding.

The thing about water is that hitting it at high speed is like hitting a brick wall. [Water Bullet] utilizes that and then practically drills a hole through the victim. So far, the wolf hadn't utilized any of its good moves.

'Nevermind.'

Not only did it combine [Leap] and [Sprint] but also combine [Invisibility][Tough Hide][Mana Detection][Aura][Rush][Rage] as a ultimate last-ditch effort. I could sense its presence, but I could not see it.

I crouched in my past home as I waited for the beast to approach. Like a fool, it shot out of the trees and darted towards me, its [Invisibilty] had already worn off. The threads did their job. Invisible lines wrapped around its arms and legs, suspending it in the air. The trees leaned, but they did not break.

'I didn't expect that to work, but... [Wind Shears]!' Blades of wind were shot towards the wolf's neck, cutting it as the blades pierced through bone and muscle tissue. The head rolled off, dropping to the ground in front of me.

I didn't level up, but I needed to heal.

I gained health from eating the corpse of the wolf. It was funny, to see my life force in numerical values. I spotted a raven watching me from one of the trees near the clearing.
