I dare you to love me 2

"love me... I dare you to love me"

For the past few days all Susan could think about was that night. Everything had gone so out of control. She lost control of the date and suddenly he opened a dark part of his past to her. How could his own grandfather do that to his grandson, where was his parents. According to the internet Marcelo grew up under his loving parents Blake and Andrea. His father owns a world renowned construction company and several chains of malls around the world and his mother is a famous designer. Her designs so expensive and rare.

Susan had seen pictures of his parents but she had never seen a picture with Marcelo in it on the internet. The media presented them as a very powerful and influential family whose influence spreads across Europe and North America.

Susan could deduce from their conversation in the car that their family wasn't a normal family.

'Why?' Susan finally asked the burning question in her mind.

Their ride was earlier tense and silent as both of them thought about what had happened earlier, although in different ways. She wanted to know why he would do that to his own blood.

"I'm not just an heir to a very vast empire as the media points out and I'm not just a self made billionaire of King industries as the world sees" Susan was confused with his answer. If he wasn't the heir or owner of those what was he.

Marcelo could see the confusion on her face.

"I'm the heir to something so much bigger and people like me and my grandfather are the villian in this world. I'm the heir to something much deeper, much...darker"

After that Susan didn't know what to say, but that just made it much more scarier and she was too scared to ask what that was.

"So you are basically lex Luther" Susan joked to relive the tense air.

"Who?" Susan was surprised e would even ask that.

"You know lex Luther" this time she drawled out the name like it would spark so sort of remembrance but his expressions just showed he was so confused and for some reason Susan found it... cute?.

She was going crazy, there was certainly nothing cute about the man sitting next to her.

"Lex Luther, the rich villan who tires to kill Superman every single time"

"Oh" it was obvious he still doesn't know who he is.

"So he isn't real" he added .

"He isn't but it's a surprise you don't know who he is"

" Should I?" He asked raising up one of his perfect eyebrow.

"Not really...You just have so much in common with him" she lightly teased further.

He grumbled under his breath like a child which was surprising to Susan but she dissmissed it as it was probably something murderous and she really didn't want to think about that.

This time Susan was ready to take on this challenge. She had never enjoyed playing truth or dare in highschool, the game was scary as the movie was to her. Bit this time, although this dare was scary and crazy as her boss she would take it up.

It's like it's time to play truth or dare susan

Her inner self mocked.

Susan gave the door a few knock before pushing it open. As usual he was behind his desk, his serious face staring at the screen of the computer.

Does he ever take a break? Susan asked herself.

I doubt it.

She walked further in the room, his hair was disheveled but still looked good as always. He didn't raise his head to look at her. He just continued what he was doing not that Susan minded it.

"What do you want?" He grumbled lazily like he really didn't want to talk now and he really didn't want to. When has he ever wanted to.

"I love you?" This seemed to stop him as his shoulder visibly stiffen and squared.

"What?" He raised his head up, his voice colder than usual.

"I'm taking up the dare" she didn't shake at his cold voice as she was used to it by now.

"I'm ready to learn to love you Mr Marcelo King"

"Really?" His voice mocking her.

"I am" she answered ignoring his tone.

"How?"

"I'm going to need you to trust me"

" I trust no one".

" I guessed that but you'll just have to."

He looked sceptical .

"Are you trying to chiken out of this, cause I'll understand if you are scared to go with it" She teased.

"Im not scared of anything" that seemed to agitate him.

"What do you want?" He asked.

Taking ba sharp breath Susan decided to ask for something that seemed so impossible.

"I'll have to leave this place"

"No!" His fist slammed on the table so hard Susan was surprised it didn't leave a dent. His voice thundered a across the room. He was no longer sitting down.

Susan swallowed in fear. She was scared at how angry he looked at how dark his grey eyes became. He looked really angry and he was really angry.

"I have to for this to work" Susan said in an attempt to convince him.

And in a flash he was in front of her, his arms wrapped tightly around her waist as he pulled her into him. His hit breath fanning her face.

"You ar not leaving" he growled.

Susan was scared but she wouldn't show it now. He had dared her to live him and she was serious about this.

"I have to" Susan was not backing down and neither was he.

" I promise not to run away" she softly said this time. Susan really wasn't.

Marcelo was surprised at what she said. For some reason that promise seemed to real that he calmed him down a little. He tried to deny that his refusal to let her leave was because of he didn't want to lose his source for entertainment . But getting her out of here was not a bad idea he was starting to have this notion of her.

Her bold words like what she had said earlier was beginning to get to him.

"Fine" he agreed.

"But you'll keep working for me" He ordered.

She nodded her head and smiled at him. Marcelo was startled by that as he pulled away from her.

**************************

Susan looked out the window as she saw the passing tress, soon they'll reach the city and her apartment, she was officially back from her fake business trip and like every other business trip it was exhausting and a little bit extra. She had texted her brother that She was back just to make it all seem more real. She had spent a little over two months in Marcelo's mansion and she was happy to go back into the real world.

She would go back to being Susan a twenty three year old woman who provided for her crippled father and teenage brother with other members of her family who expected things from her because she works at Kings industies. She didn't mind she kinda missed that life. Being overworked and tired getting home to sleep but only getting a few hours of it coming back to work with a million thoughts in her head of how to pay for the car she intends to buy for her brother on his birthday, how much expenses she had and where the hell Leo kept the files of one of the projects she had to review and if she'll get time to have lunch today, then instead of going home at night she'll branch at her favorite bar and have a drink or two while thinking about all the work she had to do and her non existent love life and go home and fall asleep chatting with Leo and Aisha.

On that note Susan knew she would have to come up with a very good and unrefutable story of her business trip and why she had avoided them for two months and Susan knew how hard it was to lie to those the has she had known them since she was just a measly intern at the company.

45 minutes before

As Marcelo watched the car that carried Susan out he wondered all of what had happened the past few months. The mansion felt empty and it went back to being his cold and empty tower. The mansion felt quiet.

She was always everywhere going to each room and talking about how absurd and useless it was to have it and how rich people loved to do stupid things with their money because they had too much of it and how there are people who could use a little bit if generosity in their lives.

He had always watched her closely. He knew she loved his libraries so much and jokes about how plain it was without roamnce novels before Miller did something about it. How she fails to remember which hallway she just took and walks around lost and grumbling about how big the house is and how getting lost was so bothersome.

He could still smell her in his office. He could see her trace in is office, the book she failed to place back we'll of how she shifted a very expensive ship model from its place and the broken sail she gently placed there thinking he hadn't seen her. He remembered it clearly.

Marcelo heard the light knock against his door , he knew who it was and saw a small head push in through the tiny space she left between herself and the open door. She looked at him scrutinizing him before fully walking into his office and trying to pretend to be so casual about it.

He watched her go from a section of the shelf to another taking a book after another and placing them back although most times not in it's original place it had always bothered him but now for some reason he was getting used to it. It was like she was leaving her sign and her mark everywhere.

" I suppose the only thing you do is work and crazily threaten people" he could hear her slight anger in her last words and he knew she was still angry about the fact that he threatened her family.

The side of his lips just rise in a smirk. She went to the shelves that held antique pieces. Her fingers calmly tracing them and the one she found exciting and interesting she handled it not so well and was a little hard bit realising how fragile the pieces actually were.

She picked up his ship model and she seemed fascinated as she turned it around several times admiring it. Marcelo knew the model wouldn't be able to handle how it was being handled but he wanted to see what will happen she presumed it entertainig.

As predicted the tip of the sail broke and he watched how she stiffen and how she hurriedly tried to fix it which only seemed to make it worse. Unknown to Marcelo a smile broke on his face as he watched her fumble with it. She gently placed it on the shelf lightly holding it in place that it would skip the eyes of others but not Marcelo.

She turned around and Marcelo kept his eyes back on the file he was reading earlier. He heard her clear her throat in an attempt to gain his attention but he ignored it.

"Um Soo... Those t-things look expensive how much do you th-think they are" he watched as she anxiously stammered.

He looked over at the pieces on the shelves and at the nervous girl who was punishing her lips as she harsly bit against them and didn't realise how sexy and seductive it was.

"You know just asking" she immediately added.

"A fortune" he said as he waited for her reaction.

He saw how wide her eyes opened and she looked like she wanted to throw up

"A-a f-fortune?" Marcelo could see that she broke a sweat.

" H-how much a fou-fourtune?"

" They are prototypes of the original models" he said just to agitate her more.

"Oh" she said trying to play it out casually.

Her eyes looked everywhere in the room except at him.

"Why are you asking?" He decided bto agitate her more.

She looked at him like she was a child who was just caught stealing cookies.

"Nothing!" She almost yelled. Realising how high her voice was she cleared her throat.

"I mean nothing" she said in a normal tone.

"I'm just asking. T-They look nice, just wanted to know how much they cost I also like fancy things" she huffed.

After a few moments of awkward silence to Susan,a very amusing silence to Marcelo.

"I should go. You look like you have so much to do, I shouldn't disturb you" she hurriedly said and headed for the door in an escape before coming to a halt.

"Umm... Do you look at them often ?"

"No, why?"

"Nothing" and with that she ran out of his office.

Marcelo let out a small chuckle, his eyes went back to the expensive model and at the croocked tip of the sails. His lip rose in a small smile.

Marcelo couldn't throw it out, not only because he really liked the model but also because it looked perfect the way it is with its croocked tip as it held along with it the memory of that day, even if he didn't admit it to himself and came to the conclusion that he left it because of he really like it and couldn't care less.

Susan was obviously entertaining and he couldn't wait to see the antics she comes up with trying to fall in love with him as he makes her attempt futile and worthless.
