My Prince Charming - Lovely Husband

The doors to a large private room of a high-end restaurant were opened. Outside the room stood a young woman in her twenties.

Her outfit was quite casual, simple and with no extravagance. In contrast, her looks were remarkably stunning and extremely captivating, one would never hesitate to take a second glance at her.

"Jinyan, you are here" Wu Hao spoke upon seeing her. He had a bright smile plastered on his face. He was relieved that she was willing to meet him. He knew the reason behind her deep devotion towards him. Even though he kicked her out of the house three years ago, he was still the same kind-hearted man who adopted and raised her as his daughter.

Wu Jinyan's eyes landed on the elderly man who had just spoken. Those wrinkles and age spots on his face were quite evident but the hostility, despise and aggressiveness he displayed while kicking her out of the Wu family house were no longer visible.

Back then, he didn't believe her no matter how much she explained. He took only his daughter-in-law Wang Qiang's manipulating words into consideration. Since she failed to reach his expectations and brought shame to his family, he ruthlessly disowned her without hesitation. In his eyes, she was an ungrateful person who humiliated the family with her unspeakable actions. At the same time, his granddaughter Wu Meihua was the kind angel who saved the family's reputation in time.

Nevertheless, she hoped to see a sliver of worry and affection on his face after all these years, but her hopes were burnt down to ashes when her gaze met his eyes full of anticipation and eagerness. He didn't contact or meet her but showed sudden interest in her after three long years. From the second he contacted her, she had only this one thought. 'Was it because he missed her?'

But now, on seeing him she laughed at her thoughts. He raised her, an orphan as his daughter not out of love but due to his need of a loyal dog, someone he could control like a puppet and someone who would bring him wealth.

"Dad, she ran off from home on her own. She didn't even inform us where she lived. That brat left our family for good. But now you want to bring her back?!" Wu Xian said in shock. He didn't expect to see this sister of his again.

Even now, he did not understand why his father adopted this countryside girl as his daughter. She was young and the same age as his daughter, Wu Meihua. 

Wu Hao gave a warning gaze to his son to not bring up the past before her. He couldn't let a simple issue from the past influence his future development. He was about to obtain something huge. He needs to sell this young lady to someone powerful to gain more profits.

How could he lose a good deal that came knocking on his door?

Three years ago, he failed to marry this girl into the Mo family in exchange for the benefits he could receive from them but in the end, his granddaughter Wu Meihua replaced his adopted daughter.

At present, his prime aim was to send Wu Jinyan to the Han family as their daughter-in-law. He needs to grab more supporters to develop and broaden his fortune further.

"Father, how can you forgive this ingrate just like that? You cherished her but she brought shame to our family" Wu Xian said disregarding his father's warning.

He knew the rumours of Wu Jinyan sleeping with a random man and cheating on her fiancé was just a simple plot played by his wife and daughter but he stayed silent only for his daughter's welfare. His daughter Wu Meihua got married into a wealthy, prominent family and ultimately succeeded in kicking that country bumpkin out of their family. But that country girl was back again. He wouldn't let her disturb their peaceful lives. Having Wu Jinyan back was not at all good for his family.

"Don't talk anymore. I just kicked her out in a fit of rage and she left the family on impulse. She's just a little girl, can't you be a little more considerate" Wu Hao hissed.

He picked her as a worthless rock and chiselled her into a fine figurine over the years pouring his hard-earned money. She had to pay back for what he did to her. There's nothing like a free meal in this world.

"Jinyan... Come to Dad" Wu Hao turned to look at Wu Jinyan with an affectionate look and patted the seat next to him.

Wu Jinyan walked towards the table but sat far from Wu Hao. She asked in impatience "What's the matter?" 

Wu Hao was displeased but still calmed himself before smiling "My good daughter, it's been a long time. Let's eat first. See, I ordered all your favourite dishes"

Wu Jinyan looked at the exquisite dishes on the table. Indeed, they were. Originally his favourite dishes, which she made her favourite. She pitied her past self for a moment. She was an idiot to believe, follow and blindly worship a scumbag. 

"I've got some other business to attend. Just get straight to the point" Her gaze was calm but her tone was extremely impatient.

"Ohh..okay. This is the second young Master of the Han family, Han Shifeng. He saw your picture a few days ago and likes you very much...." Wu Hao started in good spirits. However, seeing the girl's reddened face, he mumbled his last words which no one heard. 

Wu Jinyan stared at the old man with an expression that was hard to explain but one could sense she was angered and displeased. 

"A slut like you doesn't deserve to be my daughter. Get out of my house and never show me your disgusting face" Those stinging words he said three years ago were still clearly ringing in her ears. But he was expecting to reap benefits as if nothing happened. He was the same shameless man but she was no longer the same dumb girl to nod her head and get tied to the man he showed like a chicken head.

To think she would still stay loyal and be grateful to him for adopting her...he must be dreaming. Even a dog would bite the owner once it was beaten and mistreated. 

Her eyes moved towards her brother Wu Xian who was staring at her like she was an eyesore. A little away from him, was the so-called Young Master Han dressed in a classy suit. He's not particularly handsome and was practically drooling looking at her.

'Tsk... Another animal' Wu Jinyan knew her face and figure could stir any man's heart but she would serve only the man she wanted and not some random man like this 'Han... something'. She would rather die than accept her father's kindness in finding her a partner.

"Oh, no. What to do?" She lowered her head as if ashamed and continued in an innocent voice.

"Sorry.. dad. I hope you don't mind that your daughter is already married"

She then stood up while trembling, bowed as if giving the old man a sincere apology and without bothering about the expressions those three men had on their faces she strode straight out of the room and then out of the restaurant.
