Chapter 511

" if I am not being too intrusive, is it possible for you to tell me what you meant by being free earlier" I can only hope she would acquiesce to my request, anything that would draw the attention away from me right now,

She stopped and looked over at me, as if contemplating whether she should say it or not, but she must have wanted to share it with me as she took me by my hand and directed me to sit under a grape tree with fruits on it. My last experience with grapes still scare me till this day, but for her to be giving it to me, it must mean it is safe to eat. There is no way that she would go through all these stress of beautifying me, just to kill me off,

" I was born and raised here. All through my younger years I never stepped foot out of the place I was given birth to. Women are allowed to lead here unlike the outside, are you aware of that?"

When she looked over at me, I then knew that it was not a rhetorical question  but she wanted an answer to me. I have always said it that I was trained up knowing that women are supposed to be in the background, which was why I had difficulty trying to assume a position at the base, as no man was willing to be subjected under a woman,

" Your son told me that but it should be on our way to your tent. Who is the present leader now?, Is it a female too?" I did want to know but did not know what I would do with the information,

I just wanted to know if she was part of the people that did that to me earlier and even if she did not play a major role in it, what type of a leader would sit back and watch her minions execute such acts. She looked at me weirdly, as if I was speaking a strange language. Well I know I was not speaking tye clan's language but we have been communicating perfectly with rhe master's language,

" You were with my son when you came to the tent. He must have been spoilt outside the clan, if he could not come to pay his respect "

I actually thought she had a good sight but it is obvious that it is no longer so. How can she say she did not see her son and I, standing outside her tent? She even gave him a spiteful and almost disappointed look when she heard what I said to him with regards to her. I clearly remember him knocking on her tent seeking for entrance before he walked off in anger. Or is it possible that she refused to acknowledge his presence due to the fact that she was angry with me,

I can not believe that even when he is not here, I am still causing issues for him
