Chapter Five

Larkin stopped by the table. Monica said she had to take the order. He stopped making a list of the drinks he ordered and looked up. My heart raced and tears streamed down my eyelids. She said nothing and just stared at the man she thought she would never see again. "Hello sweetheart".

"What are you doing here?" she whispered in shock.

"I came to find the woman who ran away from me this morning."

A red stripe was painted on his cheek. “I… I didn't know what to do. Too bad I can't remember you... what happened last night. I don't know the one night stand protocol."

Darian narrowed his eyes. "Do you think we had sex?"

As she whispered, she was offended by his harsh voice. "Yes. I remember telling you about it. And this morning I was almost empty."

she looked at him "I didn't have sex..."

"Why not?" - He frowned and exploded. "Because this is the first time I refuse to hang out with you when you're drunk and don't remember."

He looked down in disappointment. "So you're still calling...?"

Virgo, - he said and nodded. "Yes".

"I told my friend Briley I was a girl. We celebrated with hot chocolate and cookies."

His lips were trembling. "Why are you so disappointed?"

"Because I wanted to be like girls my age and I don't think that's going to happen again."

"What if I told you that you don't have to be like everyone else? Do you want to be the way you are because you think you're perfect?"

He shook his head. "It's impossible. Look, I have to get back to work. I'm sorry if I disappointed you or offended you."

He shook her hand.

"When you leave?"

"Two".

"Shall we go to dinner?"

Larkin bit his tongue and looked around the room. "I just... I don't know you."

“My name is Darian, dear. Ask a friend or manager who you are. If I wanted to hurt you, I could have done it last night. We will also be in public places. I know a restaurant that sells delicious food 24 hours a day."

" Okay, I'll talk to my friends."

"Good. I'll wait here."

He nodded again and took a step back. She turned and left, but looked over her shoulder and almost ran to another table. Darian narrowed his eyes. He caught himself and clapped before crashing into the table.

****

Darian looked at her all night and blushed. It was so cute I laughed every time. To pass the time, she took notes on her cell phone while she waited for him. He even called several times. He was not a settled man, so he took the opportunity to get things done. His attention was drawn to clearing his throat. He looked up to see Larkin sitting by the table with his bag over his shoulder.

He stood up at once and threw his arms round her waist as Mr. Turnbell approached them. "It is a pleasure to be with you this evening, Mr. Marsh."

Darian stopped. "Thank you for signing up for a subscription at such short notice."

"Oh, anytime." Mr. Turnbell looked at each other. - So you know each other?"

"Yes." Darian said. "Have you known each other for a long time?"

Darian nodded as Larkin shook his head. As he looked at her, she smiled and crossed her arms. "Thank you again." He spoke to the manager, and Larkin left the lobby before the man could ask another question. He took her to his car parked on the street. As he began to stammer, a trickle of sweat ran down the middle of his back. "Come on, baby, it'll be fine."

He watched her exhale, nod, and get into the car. He sighed as he leaned back in the soft leather chair. He was content to know that this was the first step to becoming himself.

Larkin, who had been waiting for him with the door open, glared at him. It was very dark in the car and I had a yawn and an ominous feeling. His next step is the big one. As soon as he gets into the car, his life will change completely. Sighing, she got in, closed the door and waited for him to walk around the car. Darian bent down and put a belt around his waist. He smiled at her. "I hope you're safe."

His heart pounded as he looked into her eyes. Anxiety and excitement made his head spin a little. He got out and went downtown. The street was empty at 2 in the morning and it always scared him. Without cars and people, shadows look scary. Darian stopped the car in the parking lot and looked around curiously. The place looked a little shabby, but it was quite busy that night. When the door opened, he startled.

Darian held out his hand. "I know you're tired, so I won't leave you long." Larkin took her hand. He was shaking a little next to her. "Come on honey." He wrapped his arms around her waist and led her into the living room. They sat at the cabin on the way back. "coffee?" The waiter put the menu in front of them and told them. They both shook their heads. "Okay, I'll be right back."

Larkin opened the menu. "What's so good?"

"I like pancakes."

He smiled and closed the menu. "Good. It's fine."

Darian raised his hand to get the attention of the unsurprised waitress when the woman immediately answered. This guy had a way of getting people to stand up and jump at his orders. "What can I get from you?"

"We'll both have bacon pancakes."

Darian glared at Larkin. "Milk or juice?"

"Milk, please."

"Okay, he's milk, I'm juice."

"I just came."

Larkin saw Darian leaning against the driver's seat and holding the seat with one hand, his eyes fixed on her. "Tell me about yourself."

“Oh, let's see. I don't have much to say. I am twenty-three years old. I live in an apartment with three girls and work with them. I have been working in the lounge for about two years,” he said.

"Boys?"

"Not". He smiled. "I've had it a few times before, but none of it was serious. How about you?"

"No, girlfriend, wife, ex-wife or kids. I'm free and clean."

Larkin sighed. "Tell me about yourself."

"See. I am thirty two years old. I have more business with my friends. We all met in college and clicked. We've been together ever since."

"I have such a friend, Briley. He and I have a lot in common, We understand."

"How?"

He shrugged. "We like to do the same thing. We both like reading, walking, going to the cinema and baking."

"How long have you known each other?"

Larkin sat back as the waiter placed a glass of milk and juice on the table and set down the plate. His eyes widened. The plate was huge and filled with lots of pancakes and bacon. "Thanks." Darian said to the waiter. "Shout if you need anything."

Darian looked at Larkin's face and smiled. "There's a lot of food." He said. "He will make what you cannot eat. So jump right in.”

They ate quietly for a few minutes." I'll take you upstairs." he said in a loud, short voice. He waited for her to come to his house. He helped her and then pushed her into the car.

"Would you like to come with me?"

His eyes widened and his heart stopped beating. "really?" his mouth went up. "Yes I am sure."

"I have to go back to work tomorrow."

- I'll pick you up after work. And we'll have breakfast again.

Larkin nodded and looked at him. His thoughts were scattered. He didn't understand why she wanted to be with him, but he was afraid to ask. "Come on, let's go inside."

He took her inside the building and to the second floor. Then he stopped in front of her door. "How did you know where I live?" he asked, fumbling in his pocket for the key. "I came here when you ran away from me."

He knew she knew his address from someone in his building, but he didn't say anything. His skin flushed. "Sorry. I did not know what to do. I was scared."

"I understand."

He cupped his chin with one hand and closed his eyes. He lightly pressed his lips to hers before pulling back. It was one of the best emotions of his life. The smell, the taste and the texture made his heart skip a beat. Desire made her nipples tight and her panties wet. "Goodnight My Love."

"Good night. Thanks for the breakfast."

"Your welcome."

Larkin turned and opened the door. He turned to her, "night."

He nodded. "Close the door. I want to hear the lock, good." He closed the door and turned all the locks. He put his ear to the door and heard her faint footsteps. An unexpected fear filled his throat. What if it doesn't show up the next day? What if he never sees her again? I leaned my forehead against the cold door and closed my eyes. He couldn't help her, so he had to let her go.

When he wakes up, he will talk to Briley. Larkin took a quick shower to get the cigarette smoke out of his hair and collapsed onto the bed. He went aside and looked out the window. He couldn't stop himself from falling asleep. If it was like this after one date, I couldn't imagine what it would be like after two or three dates. When he finally fell asleep, the dawn began to light up the sky. He knows what will happen in time. He will leave her. Everyone was like that. But he didn't run until he got to know her. Even if your head tells you to do it. His heart won that round.
