Who knows, maybe with time as I help them get comfortable in the human world, they'll become my family, and I can even help them expand their genes further! But before any of that, I must face my past, and help them do the same. The New Recruits - Part 2

On my way to look for the last new recruit, I was heading for the lake through the hotel's back entrance. However, catching a hint of dread permitting through the door–my hands grew wary while trying to push it open. Oozing in was a thick aura, carrying discomfort as much as dismay, similar to the feeling of attending to someone dying from a grim fate.

'What the hell is this?' Gathering my courage I tried to push back against it. Yet the weight of the thick aura kept fighting against me. Even so, pressing my shoulder to the door, I managed to slam the thing open.

Coming out on the other end, my senses were instantly flooded with the same overpowering sensation. Cold, dead, and desolate, it felt like grime lining the insides of my throat. With a gulp, I raised my head to look at its source and that's when I caught the glowing orange eyes of a wither in the distance. With a smile wider than her lips, her razor teeth laid bare while staring right at me.
