"I did what?"

I look at Kahiki with wide eyes as he narrates about the ordeal that had happened the previous night.

"Don't look so regretful Nine."

"But vomiting on your designer suit? That suit's price is almost equal to my yearly salary. How much is the dry cleaning? At least I can manage to pay that much."

Kahiki chuckles and gently strokes my back comfortingly. I look up to his face as he smiles warmly.

"Don't worry. What type of gentleman would I be if I had a lady pay for my laundry?"

He lifts his hand from the small of my back but his touch lingers there longer.

"You should shower and get ready if you're going to make it to work in the nick of time."

"Oh, I almost forgot but I don't have any spare clothes and I suppose you don't have either. Maybe I should make a quick stop home."

I move to stand but Kahiki holds his hand up stopping me in my tracks.

"Who said I don't have any, they're in the wardrobe feel free to pick one that you like."

With that, his figure disappears as the door shuts softly behind him. Taking his word, I head towards the wardrobe and pull it open. My jaw hangs open at the sight before me. In a neatly arranged manner, the most beautiful dresses I've ever seen hang down. I run my finger through the fabric and I marvel at their softness.

"I don't even want to imagine how much these cost."

I head to the bathroom and on the wall racks I spot various types and varieties of body wash, I pick the pink one and sniff it.

"Roses, smells so good."

I notice some of the most expensive ones I had always seen being advertised on billboards and gulp.

"Well, what was I expecting from someone famous? It's certain some brands may use him as their ambassador."

Pushing all thoughts aside, I take a quick shower and dress up in a beautiful navy blue dress and head out. I walk down the massive hallways and eventually make it to the dining room.

"That dress fits you perfectly."

I walk up and take a seat next to him.

"I won't damage it, once I get home I'll clean it and bring it back to you."

Kahiki chuckles and leans over to me sniffing my hair.

"Used the golden rose did you?" he leans closer to my ear and whispers," this smell is tempting."

I gulp and slowly place my hands on his chest pushing him away.

"I should probably get going if I want to make it in time."

An unrecognisable pain flashes across his eyes but he quickly masks it with his smile.

"How about a quick breakfast before I drop you off?"

I nod and we eat our meal in silence.

"Thanks for everything Kahiki."

"No need to thank me verbally Nine."

I look at him and he smirks.

"Let's go on a date."

"Date?"

"Yeah, I'll come pick you up tomorrow night.".

With that, his car gears into life and he drives out of sight leaving me to my flustered thoughts. I shake my head and head into the building, I spot Luna laying on her desk and I head towards her.

"You okay?"

"My head hurts. Just how much did we drink?"

I put in my coat and her drowsy eyes land on me looking me up and down.

"Where did you get that dress? Did you win yourself a wealthy boyfriend yesterday?"

"What? Of course not!"

"That doesn't explain where you got such a rare dress like that."

"A friend of mine lent it to me."

"A friend? What do they do for a living to get the money to buy a million dollar dress?"

"Um..."

A delivery guy holding a huge bouquet of white roses walks up to us saving me from her endless questions and I let out a quiet sigh of relief.

"Delivery for Miss Nine, please sign here."

"Me?"

I take the pen and sign my name the guy handing me the roses. Once he walks through the doors, Luna turns to look at me with a raised brow.

"You sure you didn't score yourself a boyfriend yesterday?"

"Stop it Luna."

I pull up the card and hand Luna the roses. I open it and read it to myself.

"Thanks for your lovely company signed Kahiki."

I read and re read the note heart warming with admiration.

"Look at your flushed cheeks. You definitely have a boyfriend," Luna says teasingly and I smile tugging the letter into my pocket.

With the roses in one hand, I pull open the door and step into the dark room.

"Black?"

I turn on the lights and in an instant, the roses drop to the ground as Black pins me against the wall hands on my neck.

"You reek of his stench, have you been to his place?"

I struggle against his strong grip against my neck but he doesn't budge.

"Black... I can't... breath..."

"Answer me! Have you been with him even after I told you not to?"

My lungs ache at the shortage of breath and I dig my nails into his skin in an attempt to loosen his grip but his thick skin wasn't making it any easier. His eyes bulge outwards as the veins at the corner of his head protrude and become visible in his anger.

"This is not good, am loosing air fast."

Just as I think all hopes are lost, I feel his tight grip loosen and I fall to my knees coughing and catching my breath. Two pairs of slender legs pull up in front of me.

"Is that anyway to treat your sister?"

"Stay out of this."

"You almost killed her and you expect me to ignore your behaviours?"

"You are also killers don't act like you're any better."

"I need to..."

The two charge and launch attacks on each other. I move to get up but pass out.
