Chapter 1

Charlotte's pov:

It was ten o'clock in night and I'm here sitting in office studying about ancient paintings for my assignment.

Let me introduce myself first.

Hii, I'm Charlotte Marie Walker, daughter of Harry Christopher Walker and Magon Julie Walker.

I'm student of St. Alexander's college of Archeology of Valdez city as well as care taker of my dad's library.

After I got admission in college, I started living here and taking care of it.

If you wonder where my dad is? Let me tell you, he is alive and live in a village near Valdez city.

This library is atleast two seventy years old. My dad told me that my great grandfather had inherited from his father.

This library contains many old books about herbs and mythology you have ever seen.

There is a flat on the top floor where I live.

Don't worry I'm not alone I live with-

"Hii Charlie!" I looked up at the owner of voice which interrupted in middle of my introduction.

"Hii Ashton! how you doing?" I asked taking out my reading glasses, keeping on the desk. Ashton is eighteen years old boy. He works and live here with me. "I'm doing good. Here's Ashley gave me this for you." He said putting the bundle of books on the table with a huff. "My goodness, these are too heavy." he whined earning giggle from me.

"You must be exhaust, there is donut in the refrigerator." I laughed at how his expression changed from exhaust to excitement. He ran toward the small kitchen like a five year old kid. I shook my head on his childish behaviour and opened the binder of the books.

My mouth hung open when I saw the book. It seemed it was from ancient time. I couldn't help but ran my finger on it's cover. It was the book of Greek mythology. There was envelope with the book. I knew who gave this. Ashley, my cousin

"No wonder, why this sh#t felt so heavy." Ignoring his comment, I opened the book. The pages were turning yellow and the latters were unknown for me. I couldn't understand a thing about it. I turned the pages, hoping maybe there would something I could understand but everything was written in different language. Whatever language it was, there was one thing which was clear that it was about animals specially werewolves.

I huffed and closed the book.

"Your birthday is coming next month. Did you have any plan for it" he asked sitting on the chair across me.

"Nothing special, will try to understand this big #ss book." I said shrugging my shoulders.

"So boring!" he retorted, I stuck my tongue out, mocking him. He yawned and rubbed his eyes like a toddler. "Seems like someone is tired." I said giggling. He snorted in response.

"I'm going to bed. If you need anything don't call me." With that he walked out of the office.

I laughed at his antique and open the envelope my cousin sent with the book. She also lives with my family in village named Omlec.

Our village has two hundred population including me and Ashton. It is situated in middle of woods. We make money by selling herbs, fruits and flowers. People of the town love wild flowers very much.

I opened the letter that my cousin had written. It says:

Dear Charlie,

I know you are wondering why I sent you the book you don't understand a thing about it. So let me tell you this is your pre-birthday gift.

This book is written in ancient Greek language. I know, you mind is itching with lot of questions.

For now, I can say you only thing that there are so many things you are still unaware of. And this book will help you to deal with them.

I'll explain everything when the right time will be.

As you are a fast learner, I know you can learn this language till your birthday.

So, happy birthday in advance and enjoy the book.

Your dearest sister,

Ashley.

I glanced at the book which was laying on my desk. Why does it so important for me? If I want to know about this, I have to know it's language, first.
