Let's get you to the hospital." Due said frantically as she and Lisa exited the house and headed to find a taxi.

After a few unsuccessful trials, they finally found one. 

As Due carefully helped Lisa into the car, she could feel the dread that had settled in her stomach grow bigger and bigger.

The incident with Barbara at the house had been terrifying, and she was still shaken by the violence and chaos that had ensued. But her focus was on Lisa, who was pale and trembling with her mouth a bloody mess.

Lisa got this way trying to help her. God, was this your way of telling her that her situation was unsalvageable? Due wondered, feeling incredibly hopeless.

The ride to the hospital was done absentmindedly. Due tried to keep her friend calm, assuring her that everything would be okay, but  Lisa's pain was evident, and her whimpers filled the car.

It wasn't the poor girl's fault… she was just in pain.
