"Stop it Taaliyah," Nihala shouted her daughter bickering with Derek. "Come help me Derek, let's prepare lunch, I was going to anyway," Nihala told Derek. Derek smiled and walked to kitchen carrying all the bags.
"Umma," he called Nihala. Nihala turned around and smiled. She looked at Taaliyah with a smile. "Umma I'm really hungry," he said.
"Tell me what you want, I will cook them for you,"
"Really?" He asked excitedly. Nihala nodded. "Then I want Ghee rice and chilly chicken," he asked.
"That's all?" Nihala asked. He walked closer and whispered. "There is nuggets inside. I know she likes it, why don't we fry them to?"
Nihala laughed out loud.
"My dear son, stop caring about people who don't care about you," Nihala said loudly and purposefully for Taaliyah to hear those words. Taaliyah grew frustrated and walked away. She closed the door and lay on her bed. She stared at the ceiling for sometime and unexpectedly fell asleep.
