SEVENTY- FIVE

I went to school one day and saw Ruby by a locker.

I went to talk to her and called her but she didn't respond.

I called her again but she pushed past me and walked away.

Okay.

That's ruder than usual.

I held her arm and she turned and slapped me across the face.

I held my cheek in surprise as she frowned then she made an evil smile and I heard a familiar voice say,"What are you doing here?"

I turned back and saw...

"Ruby?"

I was confused...

Two Rubys?😲

The one at my back asked again, pulling me behind her. I was on cloud nine as she became defensive over me then her clone said,"Oh, daddy said it's best if we weren't apart anymore so, I'm here."

"Stay away from him."

"Well well, the antisocial lady has finally gotten herself a boy toy."

She dragged me away furiously and I asked,"Who was that?"

"Rose, my twin sister."

"I don't get it, why were you two separated?"

"Because she was such a good daughter that she was kicked off to military school."

"That's deep."

"And was kicked out."

She took me to a random classroom and said,"Stay here."

She then left.

But this isn't my class...

Like she knew, she came back and dragged me in the direction of my class then I heard her yell,"Leave him alone!"

Then another one pounced on the one holding me and they broke out into a fight.

This was no ordinary cat fight, no, this was a professional fight with fists, kicks and flips.

A crowd gathered and they both yelled simultaneously,"Tommy help me!"

Wait, Rose knows my name?!😳

They kept fighting and I yelled and pushed them apart.

They yelled,"Tommy, what are you doing?!"

I yelled back,"I can't stand you getting hurt Ruby, whichever is you."

One felt touched and said,"Tommy, you care about me that much?"

The other was angry at my stupidity and yelled,"Tommy, stop being such an idiot!"

I frowned at the one which insulted me and yelled,"Ruby!"

Then I tried to hug her but she held out her hand and said,"No hugs."

The other said,"Tommy, are you going to believe that witch over me?!"

"Yup, because I know how that witch behaves."

She twisted my finger and said,"Did you just call me a witch?"

I bent down in pain and stuttered,"N- n- no, Ruby, I called you a... a... a whimsical young lady."

She shrugged her shoulders and said,"I'll buy that."

Then she dragged me away.

The other one looked betrayed and I felt guilty...I wasn't sure anymore which was which. They were so similar!

The one holding my hand took me to my class and left.

I went to my seat and my jaw dropped as Rose entered my class...

Oh no.

All the boys were stupefied and she threw her hair in the air then looked at me. She modelled to me and sat down right beside me.

I could tell all the boys were jealous but I just wanted to disappear.

She placed her hand on mine and I pulled mine away then she said,"Thank you for standing up for me Tommy."

I have made a grave mistake...

She giggled.

She had also jumped two classes?!

Why?!😭

During the whole class she was answering difficult questions like a hot knife cuts through cheese.

I know she must have a similar IQ to Ruby.

So why was she here?

Probably to get to me and thus, get to Ruby.

After the class I was briskly walking away when Rose came to me and said,"Where're you going Toffee?"

A nickname?!

"I'm sorry, I can't be with you."

"Why?"

"Because Ruby says so."

"Ruby says so? You have no idea do you?"

"Of what?"

"Ruby was sent to military school then kicked out and then she ended up here. My dad said it was best if she wasn't alone so he brought me here."

"That's not true."

"So you've not realized Ruby doing anything wrong? Like coming late to class, going against orders, fighting and others?"

Hate to say that I have.

"Tommy, I'm only trying to warn you."

"Then why were you impersonating her?"

"So I could get to you silly, so I could warn you."

I was so confused then she said,"If you don't believe me, look at this."

It was a letter about Ruby being expelled from a Russian military school.

I looked at Rose then she said,"Ruby isn't who you think she is.

My whole world went black and I almost fell over then Rose held me up.

Just then Ruby came out of the elevator and saw Rose holding me. She fumed and walked straight to us then slapped Rose's hand away from mine then said,"Tommy, we have to go."

She stretched out her hand, so did Rose, and Rose said,"Yes Tommy, let's go."

I looked at Ruby's eyes with pain and betrayal within mine then I took Rose's hand and followed her as she comforted me.

Ruby felt betrayed and a tear fell down her cheek...I was her only friend. She turned back and ran away.
