ONE HUNDRED AND FIVE

I was on a vacation to the twin tower hotel in Singapore with Chienembe, Ms Lucy and Lucille.

Mark didn't want to be away from his new girlfriend for some hawk eyed guys to dive down on her.

Lucille and I were in my room and Ms Lucy was trying to cook something from a recipe. She could easily order food but didn't want to.

She turned back and saw Mark wink at her...then she blacked out.

She was enchanted by his perfect upper body whose muscles even showed through the t-shirt he was wearing and that perfect face...she had never seen someone who looked like that in all her acting years.

Just then, she snapped out of it and said,"Leave."

He chuckled and she felt butterflies in her stomach but she brushed it aside as he asked why.

"Because you're so distracting!"

Just then, the food caught on fire, setting on the fire alarm and she said,"See."

Lucille and I were dancing in the rain and Chienembe was seeking shelter while Mark asked,"Are you sure?"

He arched a brow and made a face that made her legs wobble.

How does he always do this?

She actually didn't want him to leave, then broke.

She then said,"Fine."

He chuckled again and said,"Why the change of heart?"

She said,"Get over here and help me before I change my heart again and burn down the hotel."

He shrugged his shoulders and walked behind her.

He held her hands and removed the skillet from the fire and started again. She felt his warm breath on her neck and loved it.

He was helping her chop some bok choy when she heard him take a deep breath.

She asked,"What are you doing?"

"I'm sniffing your hair, it smells better than the food."

She rolled her eyes and continued.

They were chopping some sushi when he began nibbling on her ear, she looked back and asked the same question and he answered,"I'm having a taste, you taste better than the food too."

She looked back.

This guy is ridiculous.

But in a cute way.

They brought the food to us and we all ate.

I stared at them as they crossed their arms to drink their red wine and I was in awe.

They used to fight so much...

But now, it's like they never broke up.

That night, I was asleep when my bed started shaking and a force just threw me up and I landed on my back with a thud.

I stood on my wobbling legs and Lucille was having trouble too. Objects from above her head were falling on her face. She got up and screamed in fear.

Chienembe was peacefully asleep...

Lucille and I started running around like scared ants till Mark and Ms Lucy caught us and told us to calm down.

"Calm down?!"I yelled,"There's a freaking earthquake around!"

Mark said,"It's only a magnitude four earthquake."

I said,"Then how did it throw me two feet into the air?"

Ms Lucy said,"That was you. You were so startled by the sudden tremor that you jumped into the air."

"Oh, that makes sense."I said.

Lucille asked,"But what about the aftershock?"

Mark said,"This is the aftershock, the real tremor happened hours ago."

Then Ms Lucy said,"Now please go back to bed."

Lucille and I looked at each other, nodded and said,"Can we please sleep with you two?"

Mark and Ms Lucy looked at each other then back to us and nodded.

The next morning, I was in my room when I got a video call, it was an unknown number.

I answered it and to my surprise, it was...

"Olivia?!"

She said,"Hi Tommy! It's been a while."

"...it has. How's everything?"

"Oh, my family is great, my siblings all love me and so as my stepmother. Everything else is awesome, what about you?"

I scratched my head, I felt a little guilty for replacing her with Ruby then before I could speak, she said,"Oooh, who is she?"

I was confused and asked,"Who is who?"

She answered,"The new girl of your dreams, my replacement."

I asked,"You're okay knowing that I've replaced you?"

"But of course, we knew that a long distance relationship would never work, besides, I replaced you a long time ago."

I asked,"What?!"

"Duh, girls like me don't stay available for long, soo, what's her name? Describe every detail, but make it quick."

I said,"Well, her name is Ruby..."

"Oooh, Ruby, I like that, continue."

"She's Irish but was raised in China...she has ruby hair and sapphire eyes...and, she's cool."

"Cool?! For old times sake, Tommy, I'll give you a word of advice, you never call a girl cool. Girls—including I—love emotional guys. Say a description from the bottom of your heart."

From the bottom of my heart...

But how would I do that?

Of course, a poem!

I cleared my throat and began,"Your eyes glisten like the diamond of hope, your skin, fairer than the garments of the Pope. Your hair looks like the finest wine, picked from the ripest fruit of the vine and your heart, so large, the planet Jupiter would need to escape. I love you Ruby, from the bottom of my heart..."

Olivia used a tissue to wipe a tear from her eyes and said with a lot of sentiment,"That was beautiful."

I smiled and said,"Oh really, should I write one about you?"

I arched a brow and looked at her from the corner of my right eye while having my tongue on my right canine. She blushed and looked away then I laughed and said,"I can still mess with you."

She gave me a raspberry and hung up.

I went downstairs to tell Lucille Olivia just called. Ms Lucy was braiding her multicoloured hair.

I told them the news and they were excited, then they told Mark. I made sure to make him aware that I had totally moved on from her and only had feelings for Ruby then. He didn't fight back.

We then went to the Cloud forest to enjoy the nature.

Back at the room, I went into Mark's bathroom to ask him something then saw something.

He was singing.

He yelled,"Lucy baby, with you my heart goes wild!"

Then he started playing an air guitar and had no idea I was watching him. I blinked and slowly closed the door, hoping to forget what I just saw.
