The final test.

After fighting the elf, I was allowed to rest and recover my strength. After resting for some time,all the wounds on my body were healed completely. After that I fought different types of creatures ranging from dwarves half human half beast people.

I didn't have to fight one creature or person for one step. I have fought different creatures that have affinity to different types of elements and every time I finish the fight, I feel my body becoming stronger.

I didn't actually win all of the fight, I remember fighting an orc and he crushed me within seconds but I was still rewarded somehow. I felt like the beating was actually my reward because I felt my body become loose after the battle finished and I recovered my strength to my peak condition.

Now I'm on the last step and a massive black dragon is standing in front. After the previous fights, the pressure emitting from those creatures didn't faze me anymore but right now I almost can't breathe. The pressure from this dragon is god tier, I can't even make out its face completely because it's covered in darkness only its red glowing orb-like eyes could be seen.

"For you to reach here proves the fact that you have great talent and potential. You won't have to fight me because I can kill you with my breath." A loud booming voice resounded in the air.

The pressure on me disappeared immediately and I could kill you with my breath

" My name is Caraxes and I was the mount of the Supreme Archmage when he was in this world. You little one have the opportunity to inherit my master's legacy." The dragon changed his form to that of a human.

He was wearing a white robe with a golden dragon claw embroidered on it. The robe made him look like royalty.

"For someone as powerful as him to be a mount of the Supreme Archmage, maybe this Supreme guy is the real deal." I said to myself.

Caraxes walked up to a structure that looks like an altar. He stood in front of it and placed his on it and the altar released a white blinding light.

After some time, the light receded and the former altar was replaced by a massive opening in the ground.

"Come, let's get to the final part of the test." He said to me as he walked into the opening.

In the opening was another flight of stairs. I walked in and it was extremely dark inside and I couldn't see my hand when it was in front of me.

I heard a finger snap and lanterns were lit on the walls. " I forgot you're an ordinary human and you can't use magic yet, which is what we're going to solve in your final test. You will have to learn how to use magic" Caraxes said to me.

" Ummm….. Sir sorry to say this but I can't use magic until I clock ten and I'm not sure I will even be able to." I said to him.

" Little one, who said you can't use magic and why do you have to clock ten years of age before you're able to? " He said as we got to a massive door with different magical creatures engraved on it.

" Well….. in the real world, which is the outside world, we are not able to use magic to use magic until we clock ten because that's when the mana core forms and we can draw mana from it." I replied.

We were standing in front of a statue of a man, even though it was a statue it gave off a massive suppressing pressure like a king who ruled over different people.

"What strange concept your race has. Well it can't be blamed on them, they have little to no talent in magic. Only the Supreme Archmage was an exception and you're another exception." Caraxes said.

" Everyone has been talking about this Supreme Archmage. Who is he, where did he come from and where is he now?" I asked as I continued looking at the statue.

" The Supreme Archmage was a human born with great talent in magic, he achieved many great things in magic and he stood among other supreme beings in the universe. He was able to dominate different worlds before he left this universe in his adventure but before he left, he tasked us to find someone to inherit his legacy and maybe in the future you will meet outside this universe when you go adventuring"

" Left this universe, meet outside this universe? That's just too fast.

I haven't even stepped out of the Kingdom of Ameria, I have not seen the famous and prestigious Stardust Academy for mages and you're talking about dominating myriads of world and leaving this universe.

I'm sorry to say but I'm still too weak to protect myself." I said in response to Caraxes.

" Little one, your weakness will soon be a thing of the past." Caraxes replied

" Hey… stop calling me little one me" I said in defiance.

Caraxes chuckled in amusement.

" Come, sit under the statue and if you pass the test you will receive the inheritance."

I walked towards the statue and sat under it, immediately my surroundings changed and I found myself in a very beautiful garden, birds could be seen flying around chirping cheerfully with different types of flying insects.

I looked around and took in the scenery. "Welcome"

I heard a voice but I couldn't find the source. " Don't bother trying to look for me, just like Caraxes said I'm not in this universe but I can communicate with the separate space because I created it." The voice sounded again.

" Mr Supreme, can I ask some questions?"

" I know what you want to ask and you will get every answer to your questions when you leave here."

" Ok then, how is it going to be?" I asked.

" You won't fight anyone, all you have to do is to form your mana core and you will gain my inheritance but it has a deadline. You have two months to do it or you will fail and be sent back to the real world and your time starts now. Also know that the time in this place is the same as the outside world."

I gave up on everything I wanted to ask and sat down in meditation. I have been taught how to meditate in my magic class.

I cleared my mind of every distracting thought and focused on forming my mana core.

I have six months till I clock ten and two to do it here so I should be able to form a resonance with the mana in my surrounding environment.

"I have been gone for too long and my family will be getting worried especially when they don't know where I am." He mumbled.

Actually Edward was wrong about something. His family was not worried about him, they were freaking out. Everyone in the mansion was running to and fro, they were on high alert.

While Hughes and Marron were in very terrible condition. They could barely stand on their own two feets, they were not tortured but they knew that they would have to take the blame if anything happens to Edward.

Lord Reiss has mobilized almost every guard in the mansion. They set out into the forest to search for their young master.

"Dark hand, take fifteen guards with you and search the eastern side, the rest of you divide yourself into three groups and each group to search the other directions. Return here after twenty minutes and give your reports. If you find anyone or anything that can give us a clue, include it in your report. Now get moving." Lord Reiss orders the guards into action.

After searching the forest for twenty minutes, the guards gathered back to where Lord Reiss was and gave their reports.

There was no sign or clue about Edward's whereabouts.

Edward is unaware of the unrest he has caused in the house.

First he has been able to form his mana core and right now he is trying to form a resonance with the mana in the air and has been successful to some extent.

The air which he thought that was filled with vitality was actually mana, the mana in this place was very pure and dense and it also aided him in forming his mana core.

Mana are attuned to different elements, if he formed a resonance with fire tune mana, he will be able to control fire and if he's able to form a strong connection to it then he may be able to control magma.

He has not been able to form a resonance with any elemental mana but he can faintly sense that he will be able to connect to it if given enough time. The element he can faintly resonate with for now is water.

Two weeks have passed and he can control water and ice efficiently and he can control fire, earth and air.

He has formed resonance with different elements but he can't control them efficiently as he does the other aforementioned elements.

The battle he fought on the stairs helped him immensely, boosting and making his affinity to elements stronger.

The Supreme Archmage has been imparting knowledge to him about magic and mana control, he can now confidently say that he's among the most knowledgeable if not the most knowledgeable in the Stardust Academy jurisdiction.

He has been able to refine his mana control and he improves greatly.

One month has passed and he can control different rare elements.
