"All right, got the stuff," Yu Sixing said, kissing her before decisively taking a step back.
He had to maintain a sense of propriety if he wanted to stay with her any longer. Besides, time was short; he needed to return home and face the storm brewing there.
Xue Feifei nodded. While she had some doubts just moments ago, seeing him raise his hand to smooth her hair, then step back with a look of longing in his eyes, yet firmly walking away, it was as if without that resolve he wouldn't be able to leave at all today.
"I'm leaving. Take care of yourself, good night."
By the time Xue Feifei snapped back to reality, Yu Sixing had already left, shut the door, and even his retreating footsteps could be heard growing distant, followed by the sound of the elevator. Then, the elevator arrived, and next, the sound of it descending.
Not long after, the lobby door opened again and a car started, before gradually fading into the distance and finally disappearing completely.
He really left.
