Chap 61:- Alice Joins In

"Okie buddy, you can go back now, will travel the rest of the distance myself." Zeno jumped off his flying dragon.

"Graaaahhhhh ~" It sored higher and vanished into the thin air.

Zeno created a small Mana storm beneath him and landed on it.

"Dam... This thing still takes a toll on me... Now... Where is her palace..." Zeno began walking inside the city, most of the people didn't have any mana inside them, and some who did were taken into special universities.

"This place seems much more better than Flare continent." Zeno decided to stop by a few shops.

He was going through a few key chains, as there was a lot of time left in his hand.

While he was busy with his key chains, a crossroad behind that shop became quite noisy.

"Get away you little bitch!"

"Nooo!!!"

"AAaahhhh!!!"

"Andrew, no!!! *sob sob*"

"Shut up! Next are you and that bitch!"

"Don't take away my mommy too!!"

"Get away you maggot!"

*Bam*

"Now die!"

This all commotion got the attention of our carefree king.

"Uh... Can you wait a few minutes? I am just gonna go to the crossroad behind your shop and be right back."

Zeno decided to give it a look himself.

"*Sniff*... Mom... *sniff*, please... Don't go away..."

The sight which Zeno made his blood run cold.

A male corpse which was beheaded laid there, a female lying on his chest, blood flowing through her torso part, and a small kid sitting between them, covered in both of their blood, her small hands were painted in blood, she firmly gripping onto her mother's arm.

'What the... What the heck...' Zeno couldn't think straight, he has sawn many being slaughtered, and he has slaughtered many, but this one was too gruesome for him.

"Now you little kid, get here!" A tall and heavily armed guard walked to the little girl and pulled her by her hair.

"Aaahhhh, no... Leave me... Let me be with my mommy!" She tried to free herself from the grip of that guard but she was too weak for that.

"Now rot into hell where your kind belongs!!" He raised his sword and went ahead to stab her.

"No... Not until I am here..."

*Clang*

The sword and soldier's wrist fell to the ground.

Zeno swung his mana sword without wasting a second and slashed off his other wrist, and picked up the little girl.

"*Sniff*... Big brother... This uncle... He killed my mom and dad..."

"What's your name lil one...?"

"A... Alice..."

The small girl was in tears, she was barely five years old, it was the cruelty of this world she had to go through such a hell at such a young age.

She grabbed Zeno's suit and buried her face into it and cried out her heart.

"Oh, dear..." He kissed her on her forehead and turned his gaze towards the soldier.

His eyes filled with blood lust, an injured snake is almost ten times stronger than a normal one.

He was not letting him get away with just his wrists gone.

"You bastard... Tell me what did they do to you? Why in the hell you did do that!"

Zeno's aura was super intimating right now, if someone does something funny to him right now he would most probably be executed.

"Huh?? You freak! These are the cursed beings! They are no less than beasts! They do not deserve to live!" He became furious at losing both of his wrists.

"Shut up!! You are the one who is a beast!! I won't ever forgive you! But don't worry... I won't kill you... At least not give it to you..." He snapped his finger and closed one of his eyes.

"Destiny Seal!!" He implanted a seal onto that soldier, and after that black aura began leaking from the ground, forming a sphere around that soldier captivating him inside.

"Don't worry... I will personally torture you... And you won't die until I break this seal... So don't worry... You will be my personal bitch..."

Zeno was really mad right now, a small kid whose family got slaughtered, he couldn't even manage to save her mother.

"Alice... Where is your home?" Zeno came lit kd his thoughts and now he had one more thing to take care of, this small kid.

"My house... I... It was burned down yesterday..." She replied in a soft and sad tone.

"O... Oh... I see..." Zeno gently patted her.

"Brother... What is your name..." She asked still sobbing over her parent's death.

"It's Zeno." He replied without using any of his allies.

"Zeno... Zeno..." She repeated his name as if she had something going into her mind.

"Ahh, so... Alice... Do you have any relatives?"

"No... They all were killed before us..." She pointed toward the direction where her parent's corpses were laid.

"This is the place... This is where they kill people like us.

She saw him in the eyes, she had golden eyes, these were the eyes which cursed people have.

" oh..." Zeno was surprised to see something like this.

"So... Where will you go, Alice?"

"With brother..." She replied without hesitation as if she already knew what was going to be asked.

"What...? You want to go with me???" Zeno couldn't believe she maid yo her mind soo quickly.

"Yeah... After all... I have nowhere to go right... And if big brother refuses... Other people will come and kill me... *sniff* please take me with you." She hugged him super tight as if it were her life depending on it.

"Ok ok... Take it easy cutie..." He was interrupted by Alice's tummy rumbling.

"Haha, you are hungry." Zeno decided to light up her mood by saying that.

"Hey... Don't laugh at me..." She made cat-like eyes and saw with pleading eyes.

"Ahh... Sorry... So... Tell me what will you eat? This brother has lots of money, don't worry." She gently pulled her cheeks showing her affection.

"Me... Uh... A little bit of carrot stew..." She replied with a hesitating look on her face.

"Alright, don't hesitate, Alice, my money is your money so no worries." He cuddled her and continued, "But first... Let's wash you up."
