Interrogation RE:W

Izuku looked at the cigar in Chief's hands and felt like provoking him a little, "I don't think you should be smoking here. Have you ever heard about secondhand smoke? It's much more dangerous than normal smoking."

The Chief laughed and replied, "Well, I am the Chief so I can do anything I want to. I am terribly sorry if it inconveniences you, but you can't do anything about it, after all, you are still just a student."

Izuku smirked and replied, "Fair enough. I always knew the police force was formed of a bunch of corrupted bastards so I already knew your answer beforehand. Well... let's begin, it's already too late. I still want to get some sleep."

Quinn narrowed his eyes and replied, "I have no idea what you are talking about."

Chief was angry at his statement but couldn't help but admire him.

'Many people get nervous in the interrogation room. Even if they are not the culprit, people still get anxious. Not only is he not afraid, but he even said such a rude remark to a high ranking official like me. Is he fearless or reckless?'

Chief Quinn took out a small device from his pocket and placed it on the desk.

"Well, since we already know your name, let's start by asking you this. Do you know the killer personally?"

Izuku used "observe" on the device and smirked.

Information: A handcrafted lie detector by Nezu. It's 100 percent accurate unless the device is broken. When the person lies, the device rings.

Izuku nodded and replied, "I found out his identity and was surprised. His name is Leo Kendo, the son of the flame hero, Inferno."

Chief Quinn looked at the device but it didn't ring.

"Inferno you are saying...That's certainly weird." He wrote it down and continued, "Due to our procedures, I will still need to ask you a few questions."

Izuku frowned and thought 'What is up with this person? It's like he is trying to make me look like a bad person by default. Is it because I insulted the police force before? The name should be enough for them...'

Dismissing the thought, Izuku agreed and Quinn gave him another question.

"Why didn't you show the woman in the lobby your identity card when you entered the hospital and how did you know that the killer would come for Kamur? Did you know the man called Kamur personally?"

Izuku frowned and didn't have a choice but to answer.

"Today... tons of bodies were found in the old theater. Leo Kendo was the one who killed them all. I was on the scene, investigating together with principal Nezu from the U.A. Academy and the captain Naomasa. After that, I went home and my mother Inko Midoriya told me about a patient who was disfigured just like the people in the theater so I quickly ran into the hospital to check out his condition. I didn't want to waste time so I just ran upstairs. As for your last question, I have never met the man named Kamur myself."

Once again, the bell didn't ring and Chief Quinn smiled.

"Looks like we are almost done." He looked at the guard near the door and said, "Bring me the thing you found at the scene."

The guard nodded and went outside. After a few minutes, he brought a broken device. He placed it on the table, saluted and left the room.

"Now, We have found this device at the crime scene. Do you have any idea what this is?"

Izuku looked at it and frowned. It was the same bomb that was in the theatre.

Izuku faced the Chief and replied to his question. "This device is a bomb. Its explosion power is on par with a claymore. We found similar bombs on site in the theater. There were like six of them there."

There wasn't any sound from the bell this time either.

Chief couldn't think of any other question so he put away his lie detector into his pocket and stood up.

"Okay kid. I already heard the gist of it from Nezu but I just wanted to make sure everything is alright. The basic interrogation is over and you can go home in a few minutes. We will send some papers with more questions to your house so you better fill them up and give them to Nezu. I am too tired and lazy to interrogate you any further."

He went towards Izuku and removed his cuffs.

Izuku massaged his wrists and replied, "I have no idea how you became chief with this laid-back attitude but I am grateful for it. At least I don't have to spend 2 more hours at this shit hole."

Chief Quinn wryly smiled and placed the cuffs into his bag, "You do realize I can just lock you away for this? This is basically an offense. Kids these days sure are fearless. When I was your age, I dated half of the girls in my school at the same time. None of them knew I was going out with 50 plus girls. Yet, I was still afraid of the police. I can't imagine your achievements. Ah...those were good times."

Izuku facepalmed himself, "Yeah... let's hope that you are joking.

Chief Quinn smiled and escorted him towards the exit.
