Chapter 3. System Reward

Jared was astonished by what he had heard. He couldn't believe the reward system offered.

'What the---?'

'Is this for real?'

Krriinngg!

Jared grabbed his phone and pressed the answer button.

"Hello? Is this Mr. Jared Hale?" A solemn yet friendly voice of a woman answered on the other line.

"Yes, speaking.may i know who it is?"

"Hello, Mr. Hale. My name is Cassidy  Mint from Delevingne Real Estate. We wanted to thank you for purchasing our most high-end luxury Villa. If you have anything to inquire about, please don't hesitate to contact us. We have already sent your profile to the guards of the Community to welcome you" the female voice was friendly but the hint of professionalism can be felt from how she talked.

"Can i see the house today?"

"Of course, Mr. Hale. The house is fully renovated and fully furnished and is ready for you to move in anytime"

"Thank you. If i have anything i want to know, i will visit you"

"Thank you, Mr. Hale. You are always welcome to visit"

The brief talk quickly ended. After the discussion concluded, Jared stared at nothing but thin air, processing the system's reward.

Starry Moon Lake Villa is the most luxurious Villa in Crystal Community located in Central City.

Crystal Community is well-known for being Central City's most upscale and opulent community. It has approximately 20 luxurious Villas. Every Villa is worth between 10 million and 100 million, but Starry Moon Lake is estimated to be worth around 500 million GC.

Crystal Community is the location everyone wants to live, yet it is not affordable for everyone. Just the cost of land per square meter discourages them.

But Jared couldn't believe that the system had given him the opportunity to live in a place that everyone desired.

The Real Estate Certificate, keys and money has been issued by the system and is already handed to the host.

Please check your bag]

Jared hurriedly opened the bag he was carrying, only to discover a red folder and paper money that hadn't been there when he left work.

"Young man, are you alright?" The old man spoke with a concerned tone and facial expression. Jared smiled at him before closing his bag. The nurse also left after examining the old man.

"Yes" He calmly responded, but his heart was racing from excitement, preventing him from jumping out of the overwhelming feeling of exhilaration.

"Is there anyone you can contact? I could call them for you if you want. It's dangerous to be alone outside, considering your poor health"

The old man nodded, but then immediately shook his head that raised Jared's eyebrows. The old man's look displays trouble, as if something is complicated.

"Is there something wrong?" Jared asked worrying. The old man took a deep breath and lowered his head.  He opened his mouth to answer Jared "i don't want to go home. My unfilial son is trying to marry my granddaughter out of her own will. I came out to breathe some fresh air before going home, but i don't think i could face my unfilial son and die out of frustration. I think i will need to stay out of home for the meantime"

The old man sighed and stroked his forehead. Jared sat next to him, sympathy and worry on his face. Jared has a soft spot for the elderly due to his late adoptive grandfather, who cared for him until his death. He wanted to do something for the elderly man like what he did for his grandfather.

Mission: help someone who is in need of help.

Reward/Rewards: Pen]

Jared, who had been stunned for a time due to the system mission, turned to face the elderly guy beside him. The old man looks decent. His clean attire and polished brown shoes, as well as a manly perfume that smells branded, are noticeable. His skin is spotless, and not a single speck of dust can be seen on his nails.

'this old man has money'

"How about my house. You could live there in the mean time" Although Jared was unaware of the old man's identity, he is not the type of guy to look down on others simply because they lack money. Jared's kindhearted demeanor is what makes him adored and respected, particularly among elders.

"No need. I think i could live another day or two" the old man refused but Jared just laughed, pointed out his pocket "you don't have any money. Don't worry, I'm not a killer and not a bad person. I promised i won't take any of your insides to sell" he commented while laughing.

The old man who was staring at Jared could not help but frown. How could someone like this young man help a stranger? He was on Yellow Street since he ran away from his security. Running away from his guards required a lot of energy. He paused to gather his breath. Many people went by, but no one assisted him or asked if he was fine, then Jared appeared out of nowhere, asking a stranger like him, driving him to the hospital, and even paying for his check-up; he even invited him to stay at his house in the meanwhile. The elderly man could not help but smile.

It's not everyday you see someone like Jared.

"How about it? You want to live at my house. Don't worry, you will like it" Jared reassured. The old man smiled widely at Jared, staring at him with mixed emotions of positivity.

"Alright. I will take your offer" the old man surrendered.

Jared's smile grew wider and stood up.

"Alright. Let's go"

When Jared and the old guy left the hospital, they took a taxi all the way to his apartment. When they arrived at their location, he went out and stopped the elderly man from following.

He informed the driver and made his way to his flat. He grabbed a few sets of clothes and dashed outside, hoping not to make the taxi wait. After that, he went to his nearest convenience store where he worked and resigned. Although Jared and the owner had a small fight, Jared received his remaining days' salary.

"Where are we going? Isn't that your apartment?" Asked the old man, perplexed. Jared nodded his head.

"Yeah, that's my apartment, but we are going to my house. My apartment is too cramped for the two of us so we needed a bigger place"

Despite Jared's plain appearance, the old man furrowed his brow, wondering why he was living in an apartment when he had his own home. He wanted to speak, but he opted to remain quiet.

"Sir? What's the address of your house?" Jared smiled wider at the driver's question. He placed his knuckle under his chin and decided to look out the window.

"Crystal Community"

Both the driver and the elderly man's eyes widened in surprise. The driver almost stepped on the brake, but luckily did not.

Who wouldn't be bewildered? Anyone who lived in Crystal Community was either a celebrity, a member of a corporate family, or a corrupt politician with enough money to buy a house.

"C-Crystal Community, sir?" The driver was perplexed and questioned his passenger, hoping to clarify what he had just heard.

"Young man, do you live in the Crystal Community? The Crystal Community?" Jared turned his head and saw the bewildered expression on the old man's face. Jared smiled and answered him "yes, i have a house there"

The driver couldn't believe what he'd heard. He wanted to believe that the young man in plain clothing was making fun of him, but he stayed silent and drove all the way to the Crystal Community.

When they got to the gate, the guards blocked them and approached the driver.

"Are you lost? This Community is off-limit and taxis are not allowed inside" The middle-aged man said this before shifting his gaze from the driver to the two people behind him. The guard was surprised to see a familiar face..

Someone had just bought the most luxurious Villa, and the owner's face flashed on their phone screen to warn them not to be disrespectful and to be prepared to greet them, and the man in front of him was the owner.

"Mr. Jared Hale?"

"Yes?"

The guard shook his head and bowed "forgive my discourteous, i didn't know that Mr. Hale will be here today. Welcome, Mr. Hale" The guard spoke respectfully. Jared smiled at him and waved his hand.

"It's fine. Can the taxi come inside?"

"I'm sorry, sir. Taxis are not allowed inside. We have a private car to drive you all the way to Starry Moon Lake Villa" The guard responded with a smile. The old man and the driver glanced at Jared with bewilderment. Who doesn't know the Starry Moon Lake Villa? Everyone understands how luxurious it is. It was all over Imperial Country Magazine. The Villa has been empty for about two years, despite the fact that the owner is a Central City resident who is young and charming.

"Okay"

Jared paid the taxi twice the amount due. The cab driver wanted to return the rest, but Jared forced him to take the remaining money and tip. After the driver had left, Jared and the elderly guy walked through the gate. They sat in the car and drove to his villa.

After the guard had dropped them off. Jared marveled at his system-given luxury prize. His eyes twinkled as though he wanted to cry. In front of him were black and gold gates. Behind the gate stands a massive two-story villa painted white. The roof is black, but the border surrounding it is gold colored.

"This...is your house?" Jared nodded, a wide smile on his lips. He faced the elderly man, saying "welcome to my house" with his arms wide open.
