Chapter 30

We gathered in the hall after dinner to discuss the necessary arrangements that's need to be done before our wedding. Aikens spoke to aunt since he was the man of the game and aunt had no other option done to agree to whatever request that was made. That was when I remembered their reaction back at the airport and decided to question them about it.

"How did you know I was coming back today?", I directed the question to aunt Rebecca.

"Well, since you are still curious to know the truth, I'd tell you. Aikens spoke to me about it over the phone so I decided to give you a surprise welcome"

"Aikens? How was that possible? How did you get her contact?", this time I was confusingly looking at him.

"I had to reply the letter she wrote to you asking for her contact which was the best way to communicate faster"

"And you were able to do this behind my back? Jazzy, were you aware of this?"

"Aikens wanted to surprise you so I couldn't spoil the fan by telling you anything about it"

"Okay so I was the only one left out", I nodded my head pretending to be disappointed but deep down I was really happy.

"I didn't mean to hide it from you babe….Urhm I mean Annie ", he quickly corrected himself when he saw the look on aunts face making me smile.

"So what about this house aunt? How did you get it?", another question flew towards aunt.

"He bought it ", was her simple answer.

"Aikens?", I called out his name not knowing what to say again at that point.

"I'm sorry for not telling you about it but you deserve to be happy. And I thought this was the best way", he said holding my hands and it never escaped aunt's sight without her usual cough.

"But this is just too much for me", I said as tears threatened to fall off my eyes.

"It's not too much for you, you deserve more than this darling", we had even ignored aunts fake cough several times but it didn't stop her from continuing.

"You don't have to do this again, okay?"

"Maybe I won't "

"Silly boy", I covered my mouth after speaking since I couldn't escape aunt's glare.

"Did you just call him a silly boy?", she asked.

"Come on aunt, stop acting like an old lady. It's normal"

"Yes aunt, it's sometimes fun calling ourselves names", Aikens chipped in.

"If you say so, you can get some rest now", the first person to get up after her sentence was Jazzy. She gave her a good night kiss on the forehead followed by Aikens.

"Annie do I look like their wife or husband?", aunt would never disappoint.

"Come on aunt, they just gave you good night kisses. I have to take you along with me when we are leaving", I said and left her to me room.

"Go straight into your rooms", she commanded with a smile as if she could read my mind.

I went into my room and called Aikens on phone which he was fast to answer.

"Hey babe ", I was first to speak.

"Hello my lovely wife"

"May I know who your wife is?"

"I'm speaking with her now"

"Well Mr gentleman, I'm not married so you could address me differently, I would really be glad"

"Ok, Mrs Hemsworth "

"You are just too stubborn for my liking "

"Whatever. So what's up?"

"I wanted to ask if we could go for a walk tomorrow "

"That's a good idea, you have to take me to explore in your country"

"Okay then, see you tomorrow "

"Good night. I love you"

"Love you more", and with that I hanged up.
